When my mom got old and didn't drive anymore, she offered to let the next door neighbor park in her driveway, unless she needed it. They had several cars. That way it always looked like someone was at home, to discourage thieves staking out her place. @Absaalookemensch having police presence in a neighborhood makes all the difference. At my old neighborhood several years ago, we had 4 police officers living within a 2 block radius of our house. My old neighborhood had a farm one block over. A developer purchased it and while building, harassed my neighbors to try getting them to sell their homes. They wouldn't budge either. This took place during winter. At some point, they removed the chain link fence that separated the farm from people's back yards and rear driveways, which were the homes that had circular driveways. It's only a guess, but it's believed the developer attempted to try towing people's cars through their own back yards with the chain link fence gone, but failed because the tow truck drove onto a neighbors pool that had a black cover over the pool for the winter, making the frozen ice look like asphalt. The tow truck went through the ice and sank between the 4 foot shallow end and 8 foot deep end. The home owner for that house, refused to let the developer get his tow truck, and police backed up the residents decision, stating it was evidence. Developer tried to sue, stating pool didn't have adequate fencing, yet several neighbors cameras clearly showed the developer removed the fence to begin with. The tow truck remained submerged for almost 3 years before a settlement was finally decided. Out of 40 homes, only that one with the tow truck in its pool sold. Sadly, it was settled out of court in the end, so have no dollar amount. Oh, a crane had to be rented to get the tow truck out.

It's a lawsuit all around.
I think the towing story is fake. As soon as it was confirmed that the vehicle wasn't abandoned, let alone being there for more than a few hours tops, the cop could have told the tow driver to release the vehicle. This is ignoring the fact that the police would have put a notice on the car that it would get towed if it wasn't moved soon.
@@Wolfie713 In a few stories that I've heard over the years, once the tow trucks have the cars hooked up they won't drop them without paying some sort of a fee or else they'll just take them. @@MizuMing Under normal circumstances, yes. But that's only if the tow is legit/legal. If the tow driver knows or learns that it's not a legitimate tow, then they have no legal grounds to keep the vehicle. If they want to go after Karen for the fee of dropping the car, so be it. But they'd be on very thin ice if they demand money to drop a car that they had hooked up illegally.
@@JV-pu8kx Well in that case, should have paid off the cop to tow the woman's car and then beat the crap out of her as a warning to not report his behavior to anyone.
Story #2, If your in the US make sure to check with your county about privet property tow aways, some counties/state have rules on privet property tows stating that they must release the vehicle within so much time of the person arriving at the tow yard regardless of if the business is open or not.
Eminent Domain is often used to get land for developers. Baltimore used ED to force the landowners to sell so they could be flattened and replaced with such things as a Cheesecake Factory.
Towing story (story #4). A tow truck driver absolutely can release a vehicle even after it's been hooked up. For example, if it's an illegal tow. Because it would be either releasing it, or facing criminal charges. Also, when it's discovered that the car wasn't abandoned (and that Karen lied), the officer could have told the tow driver to release the car. Not only that but if it was towed under false pretenses (ie, wasn't abandoned as Karen claimed), then they could have sued her for the charges to get the car released. Why do people make up stories without doing some research to make sure their crap can pass even the simplest of bs tests?
Yup, and likely had to pay to have the entire driveway ripped up, disposed of and redone. Not a patch, but a rip out and full replace, which can be expensive, especially if they had to get permits and inspections first to assess the damage as well.
23:26 most state laws require the tow truck driver to release the vehicle if is paid a drop fee. Plus unless signs stating no parking tow zone tow companies can not touch the legally parked vehicle. Police can tow vehicles left but must appear that way, flat tires, etc. can not Order a tow without looking first.
Story 1: Sadly some years ago the US supreme court ruled that a local city could use imminent domain laws to seize property if the local government just wants to money off of it sale. However a lot of states took it upon themselves to out right ban that practices.
when the supreme court encourages such behaviour.... we live in an age where our own houses are just like our video games - "rented" and can be taken away at any moment. what BS, Im shocked no one fought against this unjust decision of the so called "supreme court"
I remember a Eminent Domain legal battle from the mid 2000s in my state. A company wanted to buy a bunch of land and develop it with a office building and some shopping/parks/something. It was borderline private use and public. I remember it went on for a couple years but I was in high school so i didn't pay attention. Eventually the company won and built a office complex. in 2011 they ended up selling the building only after a few years of being in it to another company. Funnily enough last year I started with a new employer and I am in that building.

Photo story: DCMA isn't about who took the photos, it's about who owns the copyright. So OP could have filed a claim since he has ownership of his late wife's property, thus owning the copyright to her pictures. At the very least, if he was ever taken to court over it, he could make that claim. However, since the pictures were indeed being used without permission, it would likely never happen. There are other things about the story that don't add up, so I'm inclined to think it was just made up.
For the first story, if I were the OP I would tell the company that I would only give them my land if and only if they give me unrestricted access to all of the resorts amenities and the ownership of a room that has the same square footage of my house.
The whole "if a tow truck starts to tow you even if the tow is flat out illegal and they know it they have to do anyway" thing is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
Harassing Resort Story: If I were OP, I'd have called a Lawyer to file for a Full Restraining Order (No Contact, Stay Off My Property & Stop Trying to Buy or Force the Sale Of My Property) My Property against the Developer, the Resort Company and ANYONE associated with them... Then if the Harassing visits/calls continue, I'd call the Police to Arrest the people making the calls/visits for Violating the RO...and call the Lawyer to file a Harassment Lawsuit against everyone named in the RO... I wouldn't go Scorched Earth on their butts...I'd go Full Nuclear Armageddon on their Asses... 😄😁😆😅😂🤣
😮😮Years ago, a company tried to force a little old lady to sell her long held family home. She went media nuclear on them. They bought all her neighbors houses and she sold with a Life Tenancy so they had to wait until she died and she had the extra money during her life. She lived about 10 years.
Something like this happened to the poor people in New Jersey the developer used Emmint domain to force them out. In the end the government sided with the developer. 😢
Where in Jersey did it happen? I know several years ago, a farmer was going out of business. He first offered the land to Rowan. They turned it down. So, instead, he offered it to Walmart. They accepted. Then the college changed it's mind and got it through eminent domain.
This happened in Asbury Park most of the people who lost their homes were elderly. The official who assessed the property laughed at one lady. It was a discrase.
On the first story... I would have made a counter offer. After all, I may love my house, but everything is negotiable. With a project like they were intending on doing, it absolutely requires them to have the entire property in order to make it happen. Of course, they are going to low-ball you... But if they can't do the project at all, that is going to cost them a lot of money in the long run. And ultimately, when you counter that gives them a glimmer of hope, and they will eventually settle for something that is well above their comfort range. First step, hold out as long as you possibly can. Next, have your property evaluated... Then when you are ready to start negotiations, send them an offer that doubles your evaluation. Of course they're not going to accept this, but it tells him that you are willing to sell. It is very probable that you could get somewhere over 60% of your House's value. You could also negotiate for perks, a timeshare in the new resort, lifetime membership to the club...etc. Then, you can go and build yourself a new house having earned a steady profit. I admire people who can stand their ground, but most people will eventually sell their house anyway. You might as well strike while the iron's hot and get as much value you can while someone is desperate to get ahold of your property.
When jackhammer Jenny was taken to court op should have sued for the driveway destruction and for emotional stress. He could have gotten enough to redo the driveway and put a good sturdy fence up on the property line. Maybe electric.
6:17 never ever allow someone else to store valuable on your property. NEVER! YOU are legally liable to ANYTHING that happens to it. Stolen? YOUR insurance. Broken? YOUR insurance. Someone slip and hurt himself? YOUR insurance.
In a way I would like to know how some people get so entitled that they don't seem to think that court orders or laws don't pertain to them or how they can lie with a straight face even though they can't prove the very lies they make up; But I'm afraid I just may find out someday!
Story four I don’t know where this took place, but in America, if the cop didn’t immediately give you your car back you have grounds for litigation he didn’t do his due diligence. I know how it feels to fail at that.
Dominio eminemte means "eminent domain". It's a legal right which basically means that under certain circumstances, the government can force you to sell your property if the reason the land is needed is for some greater purpose that serves the masses. A resort would not fall under eminent domain, however. That's for things like railways, stations, airport extensions, road widening, and so on.
OP is lucky that corporation going after his property weren't paying off local officials who could have grabbed the land for true "eminent domain." The money can be in the form of offering to pay higher taxes on the land than the homeowners.
Story 2: OP should have pressed Grand Theft Auto charges on Karen since she unlawfully had them stolen from her property. The tow company should've return them immediately.
19:15 not sure about Czech people, but personally my experiences with a number of Polish families has shown there's quite a few women from the culture that act as Karens. The behaviour of many at the last wedding I was at, was truly astounding. From trying to get me attached to someone in the group to invasion of my personal space, to demanding that I disclose my own personal business and provide various services that I wasn't there for. They've got no idea of boundaries and don't respect being told to back off. My friends mother is totally different and asked me to take her to her chemo treatments, because she liked my calmness, not the attitudes of others within her circles. Quite a nice lady, that I'd heard some nasty stories about, but it turned out, it was because she doesn't do what everyone wants. We get along fine. BTW my ex neighbour was Polish and she was always complaining about people parking in front of her house. Acted like she owned the street and the mere fact others existed was a severe inconvenience to her more important life.
Weird, someone tried to buy a cat from a poor person saying that their cat would be best off with them and their boy who stood with them even fighting to grab the cat after forcing money on the guy. So the guy asked how much for the boy... That is when the person went ballistic and frightened the cat and called the cops I think. The idea is, I don't understand after that line, how come they don't understand? I myself ask how much for their souls? Hope they end understanding as much as the Lord! Sorry Lord! BTW, how much for Disnii?
That first story is either BS or that community has piss poor judges. Eminent domain is a government tactic, private companies can't just say that and get what they want. All it would take is for one lawyer to look at the notice, who would then laugh hysterically, and through the tears of laughter write a notice to said company that they would lose a metric fúck ton of money if they continue with the harassment.

Story 4: Op's brother's friends could have taken the the Karen neighbour to court over getting their vehicle towed from a public parking area by claiming wrongfully and maliciously that it was abandoned vehicle and then take the city to court for allowing the police to just take the vehicle without even bothering to do a check on it.
No to me that sounds more like grand theft auto, which is saying something since the police are supposed to be there.......
@@Wolfie713 This was in the Czech Republic. Their laws, or levels of police corruption, may be different.
@@JV-pu8kx Well in that case, should have paid off the cop to tow the woman's car and then beat the crap out of her as a warning to not report his behavior to anyone.
Imminent domain is the corporate version of squatters rights.
I would certainly be tempted to introduce them to my young horse!
People: "HOW do you keep topping yourself like that???"
Ripe: "I don't have to, Karen keeps topping herself..."
😂😂
I have heard of eminent domain being used to get land that was then "sold" to developers. My question is how are they the "public"???
They're not public
What a crazy woman, she resorted to jackhammer the driveway.
Yup, and likely had to pay to have the entire driveway ripped up, disposed of and redone. Not a patch, but a rip out and full replace, which can be expensive, especially if they had to get permits and inspections first to assess the damage as well.
@@SeanBZA OP got a nice, new driveway, hopefully bigger than before. Karen had to leave, too, a double win.
23:26 most state laws require the tow truck driver to release the vehicle if is paid a drop fee.
Plus unless signs stating no parking tow zone tow companies can not touch the legally parked vehicle. Police can tow vehicles left but must appear that way, flat tires, etc. can not Order a tow without looking first.
lady you weren't allowed and it's not your driveway at all
The last one...
Karen's Car-ma
(Karen's Karma)

Local governments will use eminent domain if the businesses can prove that their taxes will be higher than the current structure.
Yay Herr Ripe, JB and Disney floof 😀⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spring almost here but weather is weird and changes day to day.
We’re dying over here, crazy hot. Almost reaching 40s! 🫣
Funnily enough last year I started with a new employer and I am in that building.
towing a vehicle like that is stealing.
Story #1. As a young child growing up in the country, I was always told by my older family members that when you ☠️ a snake, you drape it over a fence. That will keep the other snakes away. I would be using that same principle.
I like the new kitty. He's adorable. I hope he and the white guy get along. 🥰🥰

I'm sure she had to many fines she had no choice

Domino eminate(??) is the wildest thing I've heard today. Wow
@@debbiekerr3989 I think I remember hearing about that years ago. That's in the northern part of the state if I recall correctly.
@@dizzysdoings Yes that's right Asbury Park is in North Jersey

Big thumbs up for the channel...
Thought the cat at the end was on a pc motherboard for a moment, instantly cringed at the though of the cat hair left.
6:17 never ever allow someone else to store valuable on your property. NEVER! YOU are legally liable to ANYTHING that happens to it. Stolen? YOUR insurance. Broken? YOUR insurance. Someone slip and hurt himself? YOUR insurance.
You should sue them for 50 thousand dollars for their scamming tacts
Thanks for the heart my friend
It's not a scam, they're just annoying and won't take no for an answer.
OP was definitely not the ahole. The company trying to buy OP'S house was horrible!!
Car was not disrepair. It was legally parked, at least where I am that thing they can’t put down the car once they hook it up is just a scam to get you to pay them 50 bucks in cash.
I mean no disrepect, I like your vids but half the time you sound like a Canadian South Park character. I LOVE IT!

2nd Story: The Uber Karen!
Its house arrest
"dominio eminemte" sounds like this may be in a Spanish speaking country such as Mexico or elsewhere. I have family from Mexico (yes, a redheaded gringa has family from Mexico 😂) and I know how "legal matters" usually end up there. So glad they were successful in saving their home.
Damn. Using Eminem Demons to take someones house is a new low. You only get one shot.
Story #1: "Eminent Domain," you say? Only the government can do that, not some greedy Real Estate Karen.
Sounds like these people trying to buy up houses work for Blackrock
Story 2: OP should have pressed Grand Theft Auto charges on Karen since she unlawfully had them stolen from her property. The tow company should've return them immediately.
restraining order, time for a restraining ordet
Can I get a uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh restraining order
Eminent Domain has been used for far less.
Time for a fence to keep Satan off your property!
In the US eminent domain can be used to take property for, "greater economic use."

I dunno which story was better, the first one or the title one

9:55 since when has a . Licence ever been needed for using a jackhammer?
I'm calling BS on that.
PS. Just as I thought.
Even OSHA documents just give preferred use suggestions , but no licence is necessary.
There's been a bunch of stories across channels recently fabricating BS to make stories more interesting.
Makes me consider the entire story as BS, especially with the claim a woman was using it to do that amount of damage before police turned up.
When these stories become to frequent then I lose interest in the channel.
