  • Johannes Radebe and Layton Williams discuss the difficulties that LGBTQ+ people of colour face in the industry and society as a whole, as well as what Pride means to them as they join us for an intimate Pride Month One-to-One chat.
BAFTA's One-to-One event strand delivers talent-to-talent conversations in front of a live audience. For Pride Month, we have brought together pairs of LGBTQ+ talent from across the screen industries to share insights and experiences, explore what changes they'd like to see in their respective industries, and what best practice looks like to them.
The views and opinions expressed by individuals featured in this clip are solely those of the individuals expressing them and should not be taken to be the views and opinions of BAFTA.

Two of my favourite people! Multitalented, yet humble, kind, and gracious! I love them both!

So sweet caring warm and sensitive Jo Jo is blessed with a voice to die for, to see the elegance I crave ,not the colour. Layton wow!! When first seeing him in a clip from 'Bad Education' a cockerel crowed fit to burst, a '55,Chevy Small Block Gasser burns rubber down the quarter mile. He is my kind of boyfriend, SOO Elegant I want to cuddle Layton too bits as each word he says to Jo Jo, tainted with pain and hurt. That sweetness warmth, and sensitivity damaged by morons ,cretins, w-----s really grinds my gears. Yes LGBTQ+ people from ethnic minorities busting a gut for a toe hold in the music, film and tv industry do get a raw deal.

Don't take a paracetamol for someone else's headache"
I think what Layton means about other people not as talented is also probably class and connections..

I remember a video was rehersing for Billy Elliot he said wearing a tutu in the finale" wasn't his thing " ,he even looked whiter.Does black skin get darker as the person matures? Don't get me wrong I love these two talented guys. Just made me laugh how Layton wasn't into wearing a Títu.
