Don't forget that some of the other carbines also have a burst mode. The SG553, the AKU-12 and a couple others. I saw a guy the other day with an M16 dog tag that had over 5000 kills with it. Crazy
Contrary to what you think, I love basically all the burst weapons. To me, they are just super easy to control, feel more engaging, and have high damage outputs to boot. M4 low S to high A for me.
It's not a carbine, but the M16A4 is easily my favorite assault rifle in the game. Super easy to control, burst fire often puts your shots closer to the head if you aim center-of-mass, and timing the burst correctly gives it an above-average rpm in close quarters. Super fun.

@Ruska the M16A4 is an assault rifle. The M4 is the carbine. They are separate weapons.

In my opinion the aku 12 is a very under used gun and the best all rounder in the carbines. It's better than the g36c, ak 5c, and ace 21. Try it
Its not bad but if you encounter an enemy with ACW around the corner you are 90% most likely to lose the outcome. However if its a longer distance between you two you will likely win due to ACW hard recoil and follow up shots most likely missing.
How is it better than the AK 5C or Ace 21?
People hate it because it is ugly (it is) but is a solid weapon overall.

I sorta depend on low recoil guns, so the G36C I would think is a little better than the lowest tier, in my opinion

Would have placed the Groza at A tier for the DPS alone and move the AK5C down to B tier due to the PRM being only at 700 when the better carbines can outclass it (ACE 52 has lower RPM but has a higher DPS and believe a higher TTK)

AK 5C has higher bullet velocity than even half of the assault rife. It's engineer's best mid to long range full auto weapon.
I'm swedish, so the AK5C is my favourite by default. It's my most used gun in the game with 20+ service stars, and it's always my default weapon when I'm unsure.
Truly The Old Reliable for me.
G36C is pretty good even on pc, can still mow people down in places like rush locker
Yeah, my military use it, so I was kinda rp'ing with it, however Shaps points are also quite valid, most of the time the enemy will kill me with 3-15 hp left, just because how little dmg it does
The M4 in BF3 was Automatic and burst fire. I think they made the switch because it was too good.
I'd love for you to do a vid about the difference in play between PC and us console players. As a PS4 console player, the lag is by far my biggest issue, next to recoil. This is why for the longest time I've used the ACE 21 - because it's all around good and easier to manage than the MTAR or ACWR, etc. If I'm hyped-up on caffeine or vape juice, I'll try running with those for a while, but it takes a lot more concentration on gun fighting, and less on strategy (and relaxing 😛).

Ace 52 CQB with coyote red dot sight, silencer, target detector, and ergo grip + a .44 magnum with 3x scope, long barrel, and green laser sight for longer distances. Ive only been playing for 3 weeks or something, so im not at all familiar with all the different weapons, but i really like this loadout - except for mid range, where im not very accurate with the ACE 52 CQB, and switching to the magnum takes precious time, and a red dot sight would be much better for those ranges. The target detector is still a great selling point for the carbines IMO. Both for showing enemies to teammates, and for scanning the area before i rush in. Pressing "Q" kinda works, but this is not anywhere near as fast or convenient as the target detector. And if you are team leader, then spamming "Q" means you will unintentionally be spamming out orders to defend or attack an area, which im sure is as annoying for my team as it is for me 😏

To sum it up don't use anything that isn't a or s tier unless it's to have fun, you won't outgun anyone running a half decent lmg or ar with any of the guns below a tier.

The m4 feels really good when it actually works... But farkkkk, it only does when it wants to. You click m1 after a burst and it only registers half the time. Good gun, kills when it works, gets you killed otherwise m
Yeah and unfortunately I haven't used it that much so the muscle memory isn't fully there yet

Would you say carbines are basically weaker assault rifles or do they do certain things which are unique to them that other classes of weapons can't do?
Id say they fill the gap between assault rifles and pdws. Thats probably why dice made them all-class weapons. Personally I would have preferred if they were the engineer weapon like bf3 but I see why they did it
@@Shappy Honestly it doesn't make sense that they did that. You normally use the engineer class on large maps where there are vehicles, and on large maps pdw are useless, would've made more sense if they left the carbines exclusively to the engineer, but it is what it is)

@@muramasaYT yeah I'd love that too, I do sometimes play with the engineer on tdm so I can play with weapons as P90, MPX , MP7 although I do admit that playing as an assault player would help my team more as I would be able to revive my teammates. As I said in my previous comment it really doesn't make sense that they've given the pdw's exclusively to the engineer class.

You can't change the fov on console bf4 unfortunately. Hurts my eyes too when I play

Dude... Carbines are just less good assault rifles.. some dude here figured it all out with the weapon stats and came to the conclusion that its actually pretty dumb to use carbines in stead of AR's.

What about other classes though? I'd say it's a great pick for the engineer and recon.
PDWs have a super limited range and are pretty much useful only at CQB so carbines strike a pretty nice balance and give the engineers a more universal solution.
As for recon class, it's a similar thing. If you don't want to go sniping, they're a pretty decent pick for aggressive play.
Dude… there are other modes besides TDM and other classes besides Assault…
But there is the auto spit attachments which makes them better.

How I know your cracked you put the bow in S and the G1 in B. Your opinions mean nothing.
the Bow is trash you cant kill with it unless you get a head shot, and the G1 mops. the ACR is over rated and has a huge accuracy issue past 25-30m

I miss the BF3 acwr. It took an extra bullet to kill up close but took one less at long range. Really interesting damage model that hasn't really been replicated since
Interesting that DICE didn't replicate that for bf4 🤔. It would be nice to challenge ARs a bit more at range sometimes
Its actually replicated in Bf5. Madsen Lmg takes one less bullet to kill at range while it took one more bullet to kill up close.

The G36C with the 2 round burst is one of the most versatile guns in the game.
I think Groza is around 2nd or 3rd most used weapon just cos I designed the emblem I really like and love the emblem placements on Groza. With 30 damage it melts the opposition faster than global warming melts icebergs.
Also because players unlock it as the first carbine when they start the game
Mate if they'd have given the G36c a 750 rpm itd be my favorite. But of course... they fucked it mate.
Mtar is the true king for me. With dialed in tap fire it is manageable at the distance and it comoletely shreds upfront with that rpm and hipfire accuracy. I still use ace 21 as all arounder and ak5c for longer distance engagements.

The AK-5C is my go-to carbine, but imma be honest when I say it’s not visually appealing lmao
Run a stubby grip instead of an angled grip on the M4. The recoil reduction doesnt apply if youre bursting the gun very rapidly, and it has very low recoil anyway. The spread reduction of stubby makes your controlled bursts even deadlier
