I always had the impression that the Japanese do everthing to the best of their ability, and that's close to perfection, even if it's the simplest thing.Gotta respect that
Those who took Japanese trains in the 1970s~early 1990s, remember the time of buying train bentos from the train window, and receiving them from bento sellers at the train station platform. Basically old style ekiben.
The logic of Japanese factories: 1. Everything has its very own process; 2. Attention to details in every single process; 3. Then, you will get the whole picture.
I had these Japanese Train Bento Boxes!!! Had a really hard time picking one for the train ride because everything looked so delicious. Not only do they look great, the taste was awesome as well! My mom and I ended up picking 3 to try out xD
@@jow.2450 No, they are not only sold for train rides. You can buy these at a lot of major train stations. However, as they are intented to be eaten on the train, you'll mainly find them in train stations that have a platform for their bullet trains (Shinkansen). Otherwise, it's not as if these bentos are sold in areas only accessed by bullet train riders, anyone can go any time to buy a bento.
I'm Korean, but people who have been to Japan say that lunch boxes sold at convenience stores are delicious.Looking at this, I understand why Japanese lunch boxes are delicious.
I like how the machines are there only to help to standardise and free time for the workers to do other parts of the recipe. It cooks some of the basic ingredients in bulk (like rice), allowing them to focus on parts of the food prep that benefit from an actual human's touch, then back to the machine it goes for it to be as cleanly wrapped as possible. The best from both words.

Yes, 駅弁 are great. They’re just so visually appealing, and ordering one perfectly compliments the fun and excitement of taking the train to go travel somewhere. My own emotion watching this video was more complicated though. Happy... but I felt a bit sad at the same time, since that time when I used to travel around Japan, carefree, on the trains seems like anther lifetime. I miss that feeling...
I love how jobs that are often looked down upon in "The West" and are mainly done by immigrants are done with pride and respect in Japan and is considered a proper job like any other.
Well, the population of Japan consists of 98% Japanese people so no big surprise here. Why shouldn't immigrants do their job with pride as well? It's not all gold that glitters and of course they have to show pride and huge respect for their work especially while being taped. It's a whole different story once you had a Japanese employer yourself.
@@Endoplasmastischer No of course. Its just cool to see how professional and dedicated this stuff is made by professionals. Im from The Netherlands and with that work ethic, these guys wouldnt be making bento boxes, lets put it like that.

I know that this work is super boring but if it’s worth anything I would like to thank these people for the care and the effort with clean practices they put into each and every one of these bentos. I can’t even begin to count the time when the bento box was actually the highlight of the day of the trip when walking around had been tiring or when I had just finished a tough school term. I don’t know how far Japanese elite gourmet goes but to me Japanese bento boxes are the most moving. They’re not too expensive and yet taste good when cold and are just right for the stomach after a hard days travel. Some people might feel like they work in a machine but I would like them to know I’m so grateful for the bento boxes.
@@lalilulelo Well, it's a low volume product for a relatively low volume train. Shinkansen in itself is expensive, and people don't usually take it unless they are actually traveling for somewhere far or for holiday. They gotta make the profit from somewhere.

This is Japanese productivity and automation at its best. Food making is always the hardest, especially when you need to make consistent quality and quantity with machine while maintaining taste.

I always had the impression that the Japanese do everthing to the best of their ability, and that's close to perfection, even if it's the simplest thing.Gotta respect that
Japan, where courtesy and honesty is not seen as weakness. Lovely place.

Wow, You get paid for eating bento...That's nice
Those who took Japanese trains in the 1970s~early 1990s, remember the time of buying train bentos from the train window, and receiving them from bento sellers at the train station platform. Basically old style ekiben.
The logic of Japanese factories:
1. Everything has its very own process;
2. Attention to details in every single process;
3. Then, you will get the whole picture.
It never ceases to amaze me the amount of time and attention that Japanese take into making sure that their food is amazing and tastes good.
I had these Japanese Train Bento Boxes!!!
Had a really hard time picking one for the train ride because everything looked so delicious. Not only do they look great, the taste was awesome as well! My mom and I ended up picking 3 to try out xD
So cool!!
So nice, so clean, so healthy, I love it, so awesome, wish it can be done here in Philippines.
Are they only sold for train rides? I do realize “train” is in the title. I’m new here. 😉
@@jow.2450 I have seen on other Videos they also sells them at the Railways Stations.
@@jow.2450 No, they are not only sold for train rides. You can buy these at a lot of major train stations. However, as they are intented to be eaten on the train, you'll mainly find them in train stations that have a platform for their bullet trains (Shinkansen). Otherwise, it's not as if these bentos are sold in areas only accessed by bullet train riders, anyone can go any time to buy a bento.
you kind of turned into a legit filmmaker. this is like netflix documentary production level
Totally agree. Now I need to find an open restaurant to get myself a Bento box.
@@R3VR1N get one in your local walmart free plastic and synthetic taste lol
I love how the Japanese are so meticulous in everything they do and it shows.
I'm Korean, but people who have been to Japan say that lunch boxes sold at convenience stores are delicious.Looking at this, I understand why Japanese lunch boxes are delicious.
Wow. Japanese quality never ceases to amaze me.
European here. This is far beyond anything we have here. I'm constantly impressed by Japan!
I can't imagine how hard programed those machines are to be so precise.

Man, it's my dream to be able to create a company as good as this. Great system, great employee, great products. Everything just perfect. 👌
Thank you for another educational content! As a fan of ekiben, this made me so excited and happy! 🙏🏼

A-M-E-N!!!
Lies perpetrated to enable globalism and mass immigration to enhance political tax revenue.
@A. Septentrional "Don't have enough immigrants" No country "needs" immigrants unless it's an unsettled barren land. Japan is neither of those.
I love waking up on a Saturday morning, brewing my coffee, then watching these videos before I start my Saturday. I can't wait to go back to Japan. Tokyo is by far my favorite city that I ever visited.
I'm impressed that Paolo can get access to so many businesses. He must have a good network.
Yeah, how do you do that?
The price are also expensive, but when I see this process, I think It’s worth it cuz they do so many effort to reach a good quality product.
How much is it?
@@shantanuthak Most are at least 1000 Yen.
@@lalilulelo Well, it's a low volume product for a relatively low volume train. Shinkansen in itself is expensive, and people don't usually take it unless they are actually traveling for somewhere far or for holiday. They gotta make the profit from somewhere.
Paolo. I absolutely love this series. Gives us viewers the unseen side of Japan when it comes to real life jobs or how Japanese products are made. Also giving smaller businesses some shine and shows us and others how important they are for the community and society. Keep this series going strong. Lost for words love the clean smooth operation. The healthy bento boxes & the way the workers are all covered up head to toe amazing
Absolute efficiency and cleanliness, from the people working as a team, each focusing on different tasks, the machinery and floors being kept constantly clean, and even to the visual design of the food packaging, this was a real joy to watch, and reminds me why I admire Japanese workers so much (besides some cultural differences of course).

When I went to Japan I remember going into a 7-11 and the rice and curry meal that was prepped and for sale in the fridge area of the store looked perfect like on a menu. Of course in US this is almost never the case. The pride the Japanese show in their work is second to none.
Last time I went to Japan, most of the food I ate was from convenience stores because it was luxurious, cheap, and convenient. The pork katsu sandwiches are insanely good. All the prepared food is amazing.
I lived in Japan for 10 years and ate bento and onigiri regularly. I always wondered how they were made. This video was awesome, thank you!
i love how everything is made so clean whereas at my country you'll see barbeque stands, fried food stalls and rice combo meal stalls on the side of the road powdered with road dust then flavored with vehicle smoke and for final touches, the vendors are either coughing coz of the smokes and wearing any masks and gloves xD
