I find it a bit mean that Becca got a point for laughing when it was literally in the script to laugh convincingly.
The laugh score keeping is always a bit mean. I remember Ally tried to do fake laughs to emulate what new anchors do and still got deducted points.
Maybe it wasn’t believable enough to count, it was forced so she was punished
Technically she laughed. I think the way around that would be to just read that line instead

I love that it's clear exactly what he was using as inspiration because "I'm so upset that I'm moulting" is just straight up a quote from aladdin

I love it when they have Katie and Grant, because they couldn't be more on opposite ends of the comedy spectrum.
Becca immediately sensing the trap and going with the "Becca, with a K" is still one of the best bits to me.

@@KelpTheGreat - I think the idea is that she's still giving a fake name so these "confessions" are those of a character separate from her.
She was still able to comply with the prompt to say her own name, she just added something after.
(I didn't get it ether, until seeing chriswright's comment suggesting that's what she was doing.)

I have a theory about Katie. Early in her improv career, she discovered that she had an above average ability to not break. Either she discovered it or a well loved mentor took her aside and shared that fact.
What we see now is the katana she forged over a decade plus of people trying to get her to laugh. She’s a real life superhero. I’m a 38 year old father of three girls and I want to be like her when I grow up.
Either that or she's actually really really sad inside... and has chosen a career in comedy, like when a gay guy gets married to a super hot model. "How can he be gay? Have you seen his wife? Wow!" ya know, that kinda thing haha

I reckon I could take her on. I remember back in school Drama class we had a similar thing and I was undefeated. I've done it with my partner and afterwards she just sad it scared her 😂 idk, it's just a switch in my head I guess
CH had a few BTS videos of some of their Hardly Working sketches, and in one of them you can see Katie breaking about as much as a trained comedian not named Grant O'Brien.
Unfortunately, I think those videos are gone since the channel where they uploaded it (CH2) has been rebranded into the official Um Actually channel.
She probably had them scrubbed to preserve her dominance.

I came here to say the opposite. It was a really mediocre drunk impression, and I've seen her do a far better drunk in other sketches. Part of me wonders if she took not laughing too seriously and it impacted the comedy.
Grant does an incredible Gilbert Godfried impression and then immediately follows it up with the worst Bane impression anyone has ever done.
Grant coming outta nowhere with that Gottfried impression. He may have lost by the rules of the game, but that scene won him the moral victory (which is surprising, as Grant winning the moral *anything* is unusual)
Rekah's eye roll and puke at Grants Gilbert impression is telling me that this isn't the first time hes done this impression and that he's probably extremely proud of it and talks about it all the time in a very Grant way.

The fact that they posted this after Gilbert died is unconscionable. I love it.

There’s two types of Katie not breaking: the first is when she’s completely got control of herself and is able to keep her cool. The second is when she very obviously is trying to hold back laughter and she recedes into what I can only describe as a ketamine-induced trance

Comic sans is objectively one of the best fonts in the world.
It’s one of the easiest fonts to read, in fact there’s studies that say dyslexics prefer it.
The best joke here was the 3 points on Katie's counter at the start. Not that the other jokes were bad but that had me laughing my ass off.
1:29 so true all 500 pages related to my wip (first draft, worldbuilding documents, etc) are written in exclusively comic sans, totaling around 250k words

I’ve always been confused by the heat for comic sans, but that might just be because I don’t get most things. But also it’s one of the few easily available dyslexia friendly fonts. So, it’s actually quite useful.

Comic sans *is* great! It’s a dyslexic friendly font that is widely available so it is compatible with most computers and operating systems and you don’t need to install anything.
Grant's Gottfried is actually very good!
