    Love the decklist ! Here is my opinion (I've been playing the deck at locals since raika is out) :
    -for the core : I personally play 3 arachnocampa, you're sure to have a name, and mantis+trap becomes full combo (+protection for backrows against tenpai because they main harpie's and lightning storm)
    -for the traps I think 2 holeutea is enough (you only need 3 for grind game in the pure version, with raika, the are enough for grind game)
    -I would add exceed (2 or 3, but with droplet you can go to 3) to ensure rafflesia, and a second gravedigger to be nibiru proof (or you could play crossout instead)
    -i dont think lonefire is a good starter for this archetype
    -extra deck perfect (I personally run bagooska in case I have to survive under shifter, but not necessary)
    -for the raika package I think 2 seeds and 1 bloom is enough, I don't think it's good to draw multiple of them, I'd rather resolve jasmin with nibiru protection, that way I open more handtraps and names

    I never understeand why so many list are on just 1 Arachnocampa. Arachnocampa is one of the most important key pieces that helps you play through handtraps when they stops your normal summon AND protects your backrow that's your main source of interrupton and recovery.
    That card should always be at least at 2.
    Lonefire makes 0 sense since it eats your normal and can only make you start with your raika engine. Also is a fire monster and that makes you super vulnerable into snake eye and tenpai matchup. YOu can easily replace it for the second arachnoampa.
    I'm not a fan of HT in traptrix expecially because you can't pitch them to continue your combo with holeuteia. 12 HT are a lot on top of droplet. I think it show up in your latest tenpai matchup where they just ashed your normal and you had to rely on HT to keep playing.

    honestly pretty solid, from my playtests I've preferred the 2x evil seeds and 2x blooms instead of the 3x as I really don't like drawing the blooms and for some reason I'm cursed and always do.

    I like the updated deck list. Have you considered adding / siding Contact C for tenpai and adding one Beargram, big beatstick, fits with the Tri mons and nice non target destroy eff. I was going to also add one lord of heavenly but I’m sure you want to stick with the Tri cards right.

      Ive never considered lord of heavenly. I like Beargram but I dont know if he fits in the Traptrix variant. I think if Raika ever becomes a pure achetype, Beargram will be a good tech option

    very cool, i have a similar deck profile to you. Im always interested in changes you end up making. Also really intrigued with how you'll do at regionals with this deck especially with the current format. I like traptrix a lot I just don't know how viable it is right now.

    Try King of the Feral Imps. It has helped me get out of awkward hands where I either have been stopped or in a simplified game state and generates enough gas to get you back on top.

    As others have said I don't think lonefire does anything for this deck. I assume the play there is send off a seed summon then summon back with beetle to go into traptrix but that is a very low % play and in all likelihood you have already got access to traptrix engine. I think having more extenders like 3x rikka princess and another arachnocampa are crucial for the deck, I also play 3x seed and 2x bloom as well as a 2nd pudica + called by to try and force things through (42 card main, helps hide the bricks a bit better). The whole reason (I think) to play it is because you can make rafflesia consistently in 5 summons and then go into raika plays so just making sure you have extension is key. I personally play a third trap hole (floodgate) but typically side at least one out going second but going with any more traps in the main is kinda bricky going second and I don't like it. Going second after side I would side out 2x princess and 1x campa from my main for extra handtraps usually and then also side out a trap hole, bloom and a seed for another set of going second cards.
    Going first after side you can take out a set of hand traps for solemn and or d. barrier to really ramp up the control going first, you can also take out extenders too if you want them all in and think your opponent isn't playing many hand traps (runick and tear).
    For non-engine I prefer mourner over ogre in the main because I think this deck has a better matchup into tenpai already with multiple ways to pop the field spell and continuous traps vs yubel/vv. And I am all in on handtraps, no board breakers as letting one thing resolve is usually game over vs snake eye but having 3 droplet in the side isn't the worst idea in the world.
    ED wise I still believe in 3 sera + chain coils. Typically if your board gets broken you can get the samurai beetle back on field to link back off again for chain coils (or second skeletal soldier would work) which instantly gets your advantage back. I also don't think allomerus comes up that often and would take it out. Bagooska is solid and is basically my only game plan vs shifter decks (espeically floo).
    In your first play test hand activating bloom to ss a raika back from grave could've left the mantis on field to be able to ss a second sera so you still have the holeutea live in graveyard with mymeleo.
    Hope this helps!

    Yo, sup? hope you perfom great at regionals, the decklist is a good starting point,
    i'd suggest you take into consideration reducing the numbers for ragna engine, 2 seed and 2 or 1 bloom should do
    i've been playing 2 mantis and 3 arachno and it works so well, sometimes when playing 3 myrmeleo and 3 mantis you open both and it sucks, but now it doesn't happen that much and any name+ arachno is full combo
    rikka princess at 2 or 3 is a great idea, it helps a lot with bad hands and allows you to play through a handtrap.
    i feel that you don't like the card as much as i do, but i play evenly in the main, take it into account since it is a blow up card when you lose the dice and if you open it going first you can discard it for holoetea
    one last thing, the number of handtraps is fine, if you need more starters pot of prosperity x2 is a good one, i love the card, when i open it i just use it to see 3 cards and that's more than enough, since we don't wanna lose too many extradeck cards

    I would say too many handtraps. That would affect the draw consistency since you have no way of getting rid of those from your deck except by normal drawing. You can remove one of the Ash/Belle (so 2 of each cards) or just replace one set. Ash is always the preferrable option. Replace them with Nib/Kaiju. You can go DRNM (Dark Ruler No More) if you prefer playing defensively since all metas right now relies on unbreakable one-card starter endboard. Just make sure to have ZEUS or Evenly Matched in the handtraps though. Effect Veiler is always effective so do not get rid of that one.
    I would also suggest using "Raika no Kusarigami" ("Chain Coils" I think was her name in English?) and Abyss Dweller as a play option since there are match ups that you really will not be able to just Trap Hole through (aka Snake-Eyes lol). Bringing out Kusarigami and Abyss Dweller on Turn 1 will most often win you the game but yeah, you know how other players feel about floodgate when they can bring out 10+ negates on the field with 1 card. lol
    Other than that, your deck originally is pretty solid but you will most likely have troubles in draw consistency unless you have something to reset it with.
    If you're planning to go budget or just plain rogue mode, try playing "Reload". That will make you draw again AND shuffle the deck which is the best way to reset your deck state. Not completely advised but if you have no other option, you can try.

    The list looks solid for the most part but here are my suggestions:
    1. Reduce Bloom and Seed to 2. I’ve noticed hands that are clogged with Raika stuff and it’s not what you want to open. Also, drop Lonefire, it’s not worth losing your normal summon like that.
    2. Replace those cards with 3 Rikka Princess. Rikka Princess is an amazing extender and can make a negated traptrix normal summon a full combo by overlaying for Traptrix Pinguicula. Opening 2 isn’t bad either because the special summon is so free.
    3. Swap 1 mantis for another Arachnocampa. You won’t miss the second and as with pudica, having the 2 names makes full combo.
    4. More traps. Replace Veiler for more traps in the main. It could be the dimensional barriers from the side, more trap hole cards (network and time space are good), or even just threatening roar to ensure you have a turn to follow up. The combos don’t work without a trap and having to search Hunting dance to discard feels like a waste.

  • @strike4489
    @strike4489 4 месяца назад

    While Holeutea is a starter, you dont run many Trap cards, so i think having it at 2 is fine. You really want to search and add it with myrmeleo and set it with sera instead of drawing it.
    I don't know what purpose Lonefire has other than to be a starter tbh. In plant pile you usually run it because you get an extra body in grave but with traptrix raika that rarely helps.
    As others said, Bloom and Seed to 2 make sense to me too. Seed at 3 and bloom at 2 could also work. I personally run 2 Seed 1 bloom and havent had trouble.
    As others said, Allomerus can be replaced with a better extra deck monster.
    I like having either Hyperyton or Teardrop in side and running the other, since you only really summon one per game and if you know the matchup you are only gonna summon a specific one depending on matchup anyways so i think its worth siding the other.
    Idk if you use Goddess much in side, i think its okay but there are potentially better cards.
    Ofc Little Knight should be in your side, i personally also wouldnt mind 2 skeletal soldiers (since if you throw handtraps at each other and your skeletal dies/gets banished you're pretty screwed combo wise for the grindgame)
    Also something like Masquerena with a Knightmare unicorn or a knightmare phoenix seems strong to me.
    In general, and since i've seen josh videos talking about it, you seem to be running two different strategies in the same deck, which isnt that good. Most of the time its better to focus on a specific approach you want to have to the game. In your case, you are running handtraps but are also running 3 droplets, which are useless if your main strategy is preventing a board from being set up in the first place. You also side Cosmic cyclone, which is an okay side if you're expecting a lot of fire kings and horus engines but in general those cards, alongside evenly and stuff like lightning storm, harpies and raigeki are for the boardbreaker approach and not for an approach focussed on prevention of a strong board like your handtraps indicate. Both CAN work, but if you draw half as many handtraps and board breakers as a deck with only one of these strategies, you're gonna fail at stopping their setup because of too little handtraps and you're gonna fail at breaking their board because of too few board breakers.
    For summoning stuff with beatle's graveyard effect and skeletal soldiers effect: if you have the choice, i would always (except in rare cases, where the DEF of the monster matters for example) go for plant monsters. If the opponent stops your plays at this point in the combo, which is rare but happens, you will be more happy to have a dionea instead of a mantis for example since you can compromise for a benghalancer (plus raika stag if you have another body) instead of a totally messy endboard that way.
    I have seen people run a ton more traps like terrors of the overroot, ice dragons prison and the black goat laughs in Master Duel decks, but if you want to play a more competetive deck i strongly believe those traps are too slow compared to the handtraps you have, so I like the approach you took.
    I think having time-space trap hole instead of trap hole nightmare could be good this format, since snake eyes, tear and many other decks, such as tenpai cant respond well to it.
    With all the changes i said it would leave your list with 7 free spots, which could be 3 mourners 3 nibs or droll or phantazmay etc. I personally like to run 3 crossout designators, since your combo can get absolutely destroyed with few handtraps, alongside 1 nib and 2 mourners or 1 mourner and 1 belle. Drawing crossout while not getting interrupted is a great way to go for risky endboards without being in danger of nib. For the same reason as crossout i also run a called by, putting me at 40 cards.
    As for side, instead of swapping the d barrier for retaliating i'd suggest swapping the cyclones. Bystials are an okay choice too if in doubt. I personally run 3 grave of the super ancient in my side deck, since it completely stops tenpai and can be huge against branded or horus. I personally dont like the monster steals, since it is again board breaker strategy instead of handtrap strategy. The 3 DD's look good to me.

      To follow up on this: trap hole cards have become such a brick to me that i have thought about not running rafflesia (and trap holes except holeutea) at all. I havent come up with a list without her yet but i definitely think having two less bricks in your deck and removing a strong monster COULD have merit. Ill need to test further with it.

    To me you deck will works well for playing first as second player I don't see any way for you to pass a board :/
    I would run 3x evenly because of the synergy with holeutea and because when you are player 2 or you don't know yet who is gonna start It can be usefull for holeutea.
    I have cut myrmeleo to 2 because it is a good player 1 starter but mantis does the same thing but better during the grind game. Also mantis will always force ash and with Raika it is ok to get ash there and you don't that need a big traptrix board if you have raika, 1 sera and 1 trap does a lot of interruption already
    For Raika package after testing the perfect ratio to me is 2 seed and 2 bloom, 1 beetle. 2 seeds because you want to draw it but not 2 copies. 2 bloom because bloom can be a good bait when trying to break a board also this is your grind game generator then 2 copies is good. If you have seed and bloom in hand you can bait with bloom
    2 gravedigger in this format is very important because you can easily burn your opponent and also protect you combo from nib. I mean having 2 gravedigger set is just almost a game win
    I have 2 arachnocompa because it is the only traptrix extended and in hand it is always valuable
    For helping when player two I run 2 copies of torrential tribute which can suprise a lot the opponent and sometime give you enough to take the game because if you have 1 Sera and 1 torrential tribute you can break the board and ban a monster or destroy a magic/trap card and set holeutea for follow up with only two card. Not always but in some case it can stop the turn of the opponent or at least give time to come back
    Exceed x2 is always interesting
    Pot of prosperity x3 is crazy because it can bait, give consistency and make a lot of pressure when your opponent sees that you took evenly or imperm
    Floodgate trap looks better to me because when well set it can stop a lot of combo, the only deck that completely ignore floodgate trap is branded but otherwise it works very well

    Think you need more extenders (ie arachno, rikka package, pot cards) and the trap ratios aren’t going to be amazing to open full combo consistently. Deck is eh rn only decent mu into tenpai.

    Try my deck build man just run it and see if it doesn't feel stronger.... Run board evenly matched, with people not making as many mini negates two board breakers in hand especially game 1 makes your opponent feel safe and then you break their board and build yours as if you get to go first then they have to try to break you board with 2-3 cards in hand.if you want to skurt handtraps run cross out and called by but running that package and keeping it under 40 without weakening your engine seams tough

    • @manyhatsentertainment8685
      @manyhatsentertainment8685 4 месяца назад

      In almost every deck we all experience those hands where we don't open any handtraps and we pretty much know our chances of drawing into a now useless handtrap and knowing your chances of winning the duel are very low. When you main multiple board breakers you always have the hope that you draw into one of those instead and you have a chance.

    • @manyhatsentertainment8685
      @manyhatsentertainment8685 4 месяца назад

      And so when there is a handtraps that synergizes with your deck I think it only makes sense to run them, in traptrix case evenly matched and imperm both synergize perfectly

    • @manyhatsentertainment8685
      @manyhatsentertainment8685 4 месяца назад

      Also three of any of the Raika cards besides MAYBE seed doesn't really help play through handtraps like you are thinking they are handtrap magnets for sure but traptrix is the stronger engine. I think you should up the traptrix count, add a different extender instead of Lonefire bc the instances where you would get into it without normal summoning are minimal and if Lonefire gets handtrapped you're screwed if you used it as a starter. Atleast in plants as long as it doesn't get ashed you can turn it into a link one, which is a luxury we don't have + even if you did turn it into a link 1 the lack of different extenders would make it redundant.
