On newer android tvs, you also need to disable Google Play Services, just know that this breaks the Play Store and Google Assistant. So make sure to install all the apps you need beforehand. Then uninstall the updates and clear the data of the Android TV Home app and restart the device.

Has anyone ever been able to remove ads from antenna TV. For example, is there any software or device other than a human that can identify a TV commercial during a TV program which of course would then allow us to remove the ad or block the sound. I was thinking maybe there is now an AI software that can do this since AI programs can now beat all humans at chess.

Looks like I just had to update the Android TV Home after 11update to get back to the old home screen….no ads.
