Buying drivers doesn’t make a good speaker, it is how you implement the drivers, btw if you’re shaming siltech for their price you might as well send a similar message to scanspeak because their drivers also don’t cost 400$ to make either…
@@skandiaart Hi Mate , I was just stating a fact , about the drivers used in this Siltech speaker. It has nothing to do with shaming anyone . Since you just used an analogy of scanspeak costing $400 , The N52 grade neodymium is quite expensive , the baskets , coil , former , cone etc , does cost money . Even if it all costs $200 including labour + R&D + Tax ( High Danish Tax ) , they don't multiply it by a thousand . But using DIY drivers which costs a fraction of $500,000 and justifying it , that is another thing altogether . if you take Vivid audio or ATC for example , they develop and manufacture every aspect of their loudspeaker , including the drivers . Their sound quality is revered by audiophiles and studiophiles alike . They are not cheap, but they don't cost a half a million dollars either . The siltechs are aimed at oligarchs and hedge funders , and they will sell a few for sure . Cheers.
@@skandiaart "Buying drivers doesn’t make a good speaker" Tell that to Bopenocke, who charge $10,000's for implementation of some dirt cheap drivers, and a bit of wood! One thing I'll say about Bose, yes they use cheap drivers, but at least Bose won't charge you $10,000's for the pleasure!!! And let's not kid ourselves, it's not hard to create a well-designed speaker nowadays. Manufacturers make massive shortcuts, mailing in cheap components within the crossover design.
The large format ribbons and equal length array of midrange drivers should be sufficient to address the midrange and the treble without involving the dome tweeter drivers. The dome tweeters are not ideal for a line source speaker because the spacing between sources is much larger than treble wavelengths, and this will produce uneven off axis response, as some have noted.
Why picking the aluminum version of the Blisema 34mm tweeter, when the same driver in Beryllium is superior in almost every aspect and has the same basic specs?

I cannot fathom a pair of speakers costing more than £10,000 but a pair of these being £500,000 is literally more than a lot of houses in the UK. Surely there gets to a point where you cannot produce a better Tweeter ? Woofer ? Amplifier ?

Of course it's a Raal. Along with a Bliesma and 2 Seas diamond domes. They may be custom but it's pretty clear what companies they're sourced from. Scan-speak Ellipticor and Illuminator midranges and an Acoustic Elegance woofer.
Looks way too complex design, will be hard to integrate different driver box and X-over, also amp will have tough job driving speakers. Could be simpler, don't think that much complexity is worth it.
Hmm the buffer amp. really ? try to fool everyone you made a 5 way with passive components ? you mean an active system driven with high input ? since i do not see a reason to use one besides cutting costs. and in fact made an a active design its 100% not a passive loudspeaker. you drive there amplifier with your amplifier !! yep a 5 way becomes expensive in passive if not impossible if you want to use steep filters, what ewlse are you lying about ? LR 2e filters but in fact LR4 ? tell me

i bet it sounds awful
Driver configuration and placement is far from perfection
Let's see your speakers
How so?
@@porkchopspapi5757 What do you have? I own Dunlavy SC-V, which are arguably the most accurate passive speakers ever built.

So much hard edge diffraction.
I'd like to see the off axis response through the upper mids and treble, please. 🤣🤣
@R L Yep. I'd say no way this can be a good speaker in any reasonable fidelity sense..

With that amount of money you could afford the live performance of all your favourite artists many times!
