- Happy New Year....for 2023
In this NEW video I interview WEB of TC5 fame....we discuss his early days noticing graffiti, also seeing PHASE 2 & KING 2 early on before he started writing. he talks about his heritage and wanting to write a name that would represent his background. WEB talks about coming up with the name OSE 7.
WEB talks about meeting POPMASTER FABEL, MR.WIGGLES, DOZE, ERNI, QUASAR 3, LADY PINK, SEEN(TC5) MITCH,DAZE AIRBORN & ROCKO at Art & Design. WEB talks about that group of writer being the best group at that time in that school. Being put down in his 1st. crew by POPMASTER FABEL the (TCV) THE CRAZY VANDALS....WEB also discuss meeting (ARAB/DOC) and getting down with TC5. Plus so much more....
Doc and Web were awesome.
Met him on Chambers St, 1, 2, 3 platform around 1985. Still have the black book he tagged in.
When he said he liked to hit the letters more than the numbers, referring to subway lines, I wish the interviewer would have asked why, instead of just “ok” and moving on. Those of us who are not from New York and don’t know the subway system might want a deeper understanding of why certain writers like certain lines. He also said he liked to use rustolium in the winter and krylon in the summer. Why?!? Why didn’t the interviewer ask?!? Even though I think I know the reason, I would have liked to hear it directly from him and not have to guess. As an interviewer it’s ok to stop, lean in on a one of his answers and ask for him to elaborate, or clarify instead of just saying “ok” to everything and just moving on. Feels like you’re reading from a script of questions and rushing through the interview. I appreciate the interviewer actually taking the time to put a spotlight on one of the legends, so props for that, but I would have liked it if he took more care in probing a little bit deeper to pull more understanding out of some of his answers. A bit frustrating, but still a dope interview. Peace

For real what the hell. dude goes ok lolol
We can second guess those answers. A preferred line either easier to hit or more overground exposure. Can choice based on best performance in temperatures. You don’t need everything spelt out surely?
My bro...he put me in KAOS Inc a while back, been on trips with him and painted with him in Spain, UK and the US.
is KAOS INC his crew?

Brooklyn Legend right there. I saw his History book (photo album with the 1 line sticker) in 2003. It blew my mind; trains and walls he did from the late 70's to that point.
Tell him MikeBane TBC says hello 😎
Me and Web used to hang a good bit back in Art and Design.. Turn One.**TMB TMS.

My boy web TC5
Wow soo cool to hear the man speak
Can't forget Abby. But the A&D question is like the craziest graf question ever. That school was like the style engine at the heart of late 70s, mid 80s graf.
Just met OG at the style writer jam in ATL very cool dude stories for days
Salute to WEBOLOEUM
I like that he said he went to the bench at 149th on a daily basis because Doc Tc5 said it was too dangerous for him in his interview. Soft!
