Salem, Massachusetts is a historic coastal city. Settled in 1626, it was a significant seaport for trading. Let's not forget the Salem Witch Trials in 1692-1693, forever cementing Salem in America's dark history. One of our favorite spots was the Witch Trial Memorial - opened in 1992, marking the 300th anniversary. The memorial consists of a series of granite benches protruding from the stone walls surrounding area adjacent to Old Burying Point Cemetary. Inside the memorial, a locust tree symbolizing both sorrow and regeneration. While it is known for its October Halloween festivities, bringing in over a million visitors - it is a beautiful city that can be enjoyed any time of the year.
