I saw Finding Nemo with my Dad in the theatre when it came out. Just me and him (a rare occurrence at that time but because of the fun we had going out, having dinner, and watching this film we started doing it more often). He cried watching this film, he had his arm around me for most of it because it struck him so much. Marlin and Nemo were he and I in his eyes. Now that my Dad has passed, this is the film I reach to when I miss him. It was our movie. It's way more than just a movie about fish to me and I cannot thank Pixar enough for that.
When I was in High School I actually took an oceanography class, and one day my teacher actually mentioned Finding Nemo and how factual it was, and when we had to memorize the zones of the oceans I did actually use Mr. Ray's song to help me memorize the zones. A lot of his songs and facts actually were super helpful to me.
And I have an emotional connection to the movie, I had 8 surgeries between the ages of 4 and 14. Finding Nemo came out the Spring between my first and second surgery. When I was 6 and had my second surgery which was hard to recover (I had my legs straightened and had to wear pins in my legs for a few months and it hurt to bend my knees or do anything with them, my parents had to push the skin off the pins so it wouldn’t grow on it and I wouldn’t need the skin cut off, it was super painful and during recovery, after the pins were removed, I had to learn how to walk again), during the recovery when I wasn’t doing school or physical therapy or playing with my Barbies, I was watching Finding Nemo on repeat. I ended up using Just Keep Swimming as my motto, and it still is to this day.
Glad to see you return for Down to Disness and hope you do more Down to Disness videos on the following Disney and Pixar movies: 1. Frozen 2. Big Hero 6 3. Zootopia 4. Moana 5. Wreck-it Ralph 6. Ratatouille 7. Up 8. Inside Out 9. Wall-E 10. Coco
THANK YOU for including in to do research on pets before adopting. i think this is one of the MOST important things you can do as a pet owner, especially if it's a species you have never had experience caring for before. breaks my GD HEART when i see people having to give up pets because they didn't know what was involved
I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE DOING MORE DOWN TO DISNESS!!!!!!!! ITS MY FAV SHOW IN RUclips!!! I love finding nemo, thank you for doing this film.... its the first one i remember watching in cinemas in my whole life
After a full year of waiting it's back!! Best videos on youtube!! It's insane to think that I watched Snow White episode when it came out in Jan 2014!!
Nice job, Sarah! I can really tell how much effort you put into these videos. The research, the filming set-up, presenting a lot of information in an entertaining way, pointing out fun facts, and editing are all elements that are time-consuming and you make it flawless! Please never stop making Down to Disness videos! 😃
Wow! I missed these! As always, your videos are so interesting and wonderfully well done! Would you consider Mary Poppins? Or has Saving Mr. Banks done that? Or you could do both! Brave has to have some really cool info that isn’t common knowledge... I’d love to know more about that one too!
It's a great movie. I remember going to see it as a kid when it first came out. Lots of lessons can be learned from this movie now that I think about it. I even still have the videogame for the gameboy advance.
A good chunk of the Finding Nemo cast ended up starring in Weeds which I always thought was hilarious, especially since Albert Brooks (Marlin) was on it as Alexander Gould’s (original Nemo) grandfather.
Finding Nemo was my favorite Pixar film for then longest time until coco. Don’t get me wrong thought cause Finding Nemo still has a special place in my heart.
LOVE this movie and love this series- thank you for Down to Disness and keep doing what you're doing Also can 1000% relate to the listening to the soundtrack and LOVING it- I am in college now and I cannot tell you how many times the Finding Nemo soundtrack has gotten me through assignments frickin love it
Funny story- When I was taking biology in high school, I made some bs rant to my teacher about how great of a learning experience to watch finding nemo and studying it in class... somehow he agreed and we spent a month analyzing and studying the movie (the animals, environment, plantlife, etc)... we spent so much time watching the movie he and his wife named their baby "Coral" that year too.
Super glad you posted this video love your videos but not gonna lie I have a hard time watching your Disneyland videos because makes me sad I can’t go to Disney as much as you do. Hope you’re doing well ❤️
Seeing this pop up got me so excited. I missed these. My suggestion for another video would be...HOCUS POCUS. Just cause. (And for some reason there are two Seth Meyers clips in your DTD playlist. )
Recently discovered this series and your channel and i love it! I know you mostly do these on animated movies but could you maybe do Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks? Both live action mixed with animation!
I was on holiday in Australia (I'm from New Zealand) when Finding Nemo was released. I definitely remember seeing it at the movies on my trip. They had a tank of clown fish from the local acquarium at the movie theatre!
Welcome back Sarah and welcome back down to Disness! I love these videos. Out of this movie my favorite character is Dory - I love her. it’s basically Because of her that finding Nemo and finding Dory are my number one Pixar favorite movies. It’s a tie for number one yes but it’s because I love these movies too much and I could not pick between them.
Love this series and I missed your vids Sarah!! Great video :) My requests would have to be Meet the Robinsons (sooo underrated and 1 of my faves), Coco (means a lot to me and it’s so beautiful) and Princess and the Frog (in my top 5 Disney movies - that music, cmon!)
I love this movie. And because they used my name in it, Dory. Now, everyone, I meet, I just mention this movie (or Finding Dory) and that's how they remember my name. LOL. I love all of your Down To Disness videos and I can't wait to see what other movies you do. Maybe more Pixar movies? Hint hint hint. Stay safe.
I love this series! Thank You for all the hard work and amazing research. A Down to Disness focused on the Haley Mills and Lindsay Lohan Parent Traps would be fun.
Thank you soo much for doing a down to disness episode for Finding Nemo it's one of my all time favourite movies. I would be very interested in seeing an episode on The Three Caballeros if you would like to tell us your thoughts? Thank you for the video as always!
I TOTALLY agree about the soundtrack to this movie. I once choreographed a dance for an exam set to the track "field trip" and I themed it to the cycle of autumn time. Listen to the track and close your eyes and imagine running through woods of trees with orange leaves falling. My point being, that the music is so intrinsically interesting it can take you to all kinds of places in your mind. SIDE NOTE: How could you talk about "Finding Nemo: THE MUSICAL?!"
My parents were two of those people who bought a saltwater tank and some fish, but they did their research and took good care of them, and they even survived Hurricane Katrina! My parents still have the tank today!
I saw Finding Nemo with my Dad in the theatre when it came out. Just me and him (a rare occurrence at that time but because of the fun we had going out, having dinner, and watching this film we started doing it more often). Now that my Dad has passed, this is the film I reach to when I miss him. It was our movie. It's way more than just a movie about fish to me and I cannot thank Pixar enough for that.
That is so sweet

Yay Sarah’s back! Always was impressed with how the water was animated. Mr. Ray is my favorite.
Please do either Meet the Robinsons or any of the Tinker Bell movies
Glad to see you return for Down to Disness and hope you do more Down to Disness videos on the following Disney and Pixar movies:
1. Frozen
2. Big Hero 6

9. Wall-E
10. Coco
Awesome options!
Ernesto Chacon yessss Coco!
Oh my god it's back!!! I absolutely love hearing Sarah talk about literally anything Disney.
You are too kind :)
Imagine being so good at your job that you’re told to scale it back. I’m talking about the water animation. INSANE
I know, right?!?!
That Is Insane 😲
The Finding Nemo score WRECKS me every time. It’s beautiful, but also very intense like the deep piano when Nemo gets fishnapped!!
yes it's so emotional, like the UP soundtrack :'(
this series is without a doubt the best of youtube
Please please please please please please bring back down to disness monthly or bi monthly. I’ve missed this so much
I will try!

"Toy Story" and "Finding Nemo" are my 2 favorite Pixar movies. :)
I TOTALLY agree about the soundtrack to this movie. I once choreographed a dance for an exam set to the track "field trip" and I themed it to the cycle of autumn time.
