India Budget 2025 LIVE | Fiscal deficit for FY25 at 4.8% of GDP, Says FM Sitharaman | N18L
While presenting the 2025 Union Budget in Lok Sabha today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the government aims to maintain the fiscal deficit each year in a manner that ensures central government debt remains on a declining trajectory as a percentage of GDP. The revised estimate for total expenditure is Rs 47.16 lakh crore, including a capital expenditure of Rs 10.1 lakh crore. The fiscal deficit for the year is now pegged at 4.8% of GDP.
