Excellent demonstration of the differences in tone. Both are amazing and have their own special tones and both actually compliment each other. Thanks chap! Love your channel.
Awesome video Damon. Thank you for the comparison. Can't wait to see how they sound with more gain. I have been planning on getting the Streamliner G2655T. I don't own a semi-hollow and really want one. Gretsch and Schecter have became my 2 favorite brands. They make affordable guitars ($300+) that rival if not beat more expensive Les Paul's or PRS. This is just my opinion. Rock on!
heeeey, I have a 5232T. I've modded the heck out of it, and it's my favorite. :) Roller bridge, TV Jones Classics, locking tuners, chrome arm rest, and more.
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers Ty for your response..... Am a starter player...have been doing research on Gretsch....something economical not over $800.00....a guitar that am able to play all kinds of genre.. Really appreciate any input. Much blessings 🙌 🎸🎸🎸 Any recommendations
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers than you so much...I will check it out. Any normal size size instead of the junior???... I have seen it ...looks small. I like the G5420...what is your thoughts about it. Cheers mate 👍
Hi Paul. The 5420T is more traditional style guitar. Greta for Jazz/Blues/Rockabiilly etc, but not really ideal overdriven. I would look at a 5422, which is totally hollow like a ES330, or the center block version the 5622T. For higher gain purposes the centre block is great for more blues stylings the hollow one is more touch sensitive.
There is of course, everything is built to a budget. However , I do think that both Streamliner amp Electromatics push what is possible in terms of quality and tone at their respective price points. I have use both on big gigs and on sessions.
@@hustlinc3540 better wood, better hardware, definitely better tuners and way better pickups. The Electromatic here is giving you proper Gretsch tone, chambered body as well.

I have a 2655p90 & a 5222
Love them both 👍👍
Can’t believe I’ve ignored Gretsch for all these years. They sound great!.........I have the Havana burst p90 now....❤
does this guitar neck dive? how did you deal with it?
Both great sounding guitars. But is in love with the surfy green. So sexy.
It's delicious, no doubt!!!
Nice. Enjoyed this. Btw is that a Le Mans placard behind you?
Hi David.....my dad an his mate took a 1930 Riley to the vintage 24 hour years ago.
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers wow! That’s amazing. It’s a dream of mine to go one day.
I much prefer the sound of the Electromatic jet out of these two. I have a midnight sapphire one.
You are an amazing guitarist
Brent.....what can I say, apart from Thanks! You are very kind.

wicked!!!

To me, the Electromatic sounds much „bigger“. But the green one has the nicer look.
What are the model numbers?
Are both center block?
Cheers mate!!!

@@ppg19782 try a G5655t. Smalle body, centre block, so will go from Gretsch clean to heavy rock

Wich one is suitable for small hand ?
Either really, the necks are very comfortable.
Difference in build quality?

Both are winners. No wrong choice.
You are of course correct...and very wise!!!
I have 3 Gretsch's now, really well made instruments, dip your toe if you don't believe me;
