- Rams hire Chris Shula (only 37 years old) to be their new defensive coordinator, who is somebody they have a TON of familiarity with. He's an internal hire that has 7 years of coaching experience under Sean McVay and has successfully coached in multiple roles throughout his career with the Rams. He has coached everything from the inside linebackers to the outside linebackers to the defensive backs. He was Sean McVay’s college teammate and roommate, and actually lived in Sean McVay’s HOUSE back in 2017 when McVay bought his 4600 square foot, 6-bedroom house in Encino Hills, California. It was reported that they used to have beers together on the balcony or by the fire to talk strategy.
I really like the classic rams helmet in the background and the classic rams logo 👍
Got you brother, have to respect our roots 💪

This is an amazing hire. Nothing but love and support for that man who’s been with us since the beginning I think he’s going to do great.🎉🎉🎉
Excited for Chris Shula and I trust Mcvay with this hire, really curious what the defense looks like going forward.
Just trust McVay, he knows what he's doing. Were just fans hoping somebody exciting with a well known name, and with the football media so call "Experts" always seem to praise their favorites. The Rams don't lose coaches and become successful wherever they go for no reason. The Rams organization is a well football minded team.
I think that trust is a big part of this hire, and we have a very young and inexperienced defense, so it makes sense that they can continue with the same kind of defense. Keep up the good work guys.
Great insight boys. I think Dene mentioned the biggest thing about the hire-- McVay and AD's approval. As long as AD is behind him he'll have the respect of the entire unit. GO RAMS!
I love this hire! The main reasons are:
1. Internal hires shows loyalty to your coaching staff and players.
2. It also shows that the "We Not Me" McVay era is not just talk.
3. This also is what championship organizations do to get buy in from everyone in the building.
...and most importantly, it is the best way to keep continuity of the coaching staff with the annual poaching of McVay's staff.
yeah . . . the annual poaching is a problem that, in a parity-driven league, the NFL tries to compensate for with compensatory draft picks . . .
it is what it is . . . 😶😑😐
Guys, we need to show that we can hire from within and keep some of the quality coaches then keep losing them. I think it’s good! Pleasant would have been good too.
Oh Pleasant will play a huge role this year for sure! He could be next in line when Shula inevitably gets a HC job
@@ramsbrothers
Agreed and I think that the only reason why he didn’t get hired first is because he is the one that left to another team and shula has been here the whole time
@@Nuesence24 100%!!!
@@ramsbrothers aye . . . that seems likely right now . . . Aubrey may eventually work his way up to DC, then HC at some point . . .
there should be a balance between hiring from within and outside hires because there were some really interesting candidates out there this year . . .
i have a whole lot of faith and confidence that McVay made the best choice at the best time given everyone who was available . . .

Since we’re talking about defense, my son and I are really hyped on corner from Iowa, Cooper DeJean! We think this guys would be a great fit for our team. Smart and versatile as corner and punt returner who can bring the wood too! Check out his highlight vids!! Keep up the great work guys.
We absolutely love him. We were posting about him on Twitter today! Draft content is on its way
Thx RAMily I’ma look him up
Thanks for the awesome content guys. Just one correction. Sean McVay was 30, not 31 when he was hired as coach of the Rams.
In Mcvay we trust, I would like to see some changes in the D, so hopefully Shula can do some different things. I would love to see Stafford and Donald get another Super Bowl before they are done and are defense I believe is what’s holding us back. Great show as always
I trust McVay so I can only wait & see but McVay has been solid he has never given me a reason to not trust his decision 💯💯💯
Sometimes the grass isn’t greener on the other side! Just got to trust the process! Go RAMS
I like this hiring, wasn’t expecting it but Shula has been with the team since 2017 , so he has been promoted every year with the team and the Dolphins were going to hire him from what I heard so I am glad the Rams hired him 😂😆
Mcvay and Shula played college ball together.
Plus, they come from families who are entrenched in NFL history.
I think Shula is ready for this challenge.
I like the choice.
well done nice show keep em coming
Gotta love the pedigree. Can't wait to see how this pans out. I completely trust McVay and I love my Rams. HORNS UP!!🤘💪❤️
I’m really rocking with this channel, keep up the great work guys! 🤟
Thanks brother! Cheers!
I'm not crying in Mckyay we trust
Shula work his way up 📈
A lot of winning pedigree goes with these names - McVay & Shula. 🏆
That dude has been with the Rams since day one under Sean McVay literally and he's been with some Titans of football coaches in the Brandon Staley's Wade Phillips and Raheem Morris and then obviously Don Shula's grandson
Chris Shula is him I can't wait to see what he does with his defense
I like the pick! He is young! But is being a friend of Mcvay a problem?
1st half det game still having nightmares
I’m not disappointed, I would have been if Raheem the nightmare stuck around.
Dude raheem wasn't horrible...the defense held is in games 1st half of season.. however.....his second half adjustments were great, but then why he ain't call good plays the first half.....also to your point a lil why the fuck is hoeht covering when he obviously gets beat 10 out of 10 times in coverage.. why not just rush him and insert someone who covers better? So I feel what u saying but your way too harsh...rams had a Hella young defense and they played pretty well.... another point lol is why not blitz goff a he'll of alot more than we did...I was hoping he left to but to say he is a nightmare caused me to comment..looking forward to seeing the differences our new dc has potential to show...but what if he is bend don't break to the extreme. Even worse than morris..only time will tell...
Nightmare..wow. u racist ??
@@stuckonself 😂 u dumb, instead of dream sf
@@thesbizzy My response to the Nightmare is a play on words. Commentators tag him as Raheem the dream. I felt differently, watching his defense was like a nightmare. Listen to Mr. Shula’s interview right after he was announced as the Rams DC. He praised coach Phillips on his innovation, coach Staley on his ability to create mismatches and Morris on his ability to get along with players. Read between the lines.
I'm just glad that we won't see Hoecht in coverage 19 times in a Playoff game ever again..
Let's see a more aggressive ballsy Defense.. Defense is supposed to be played aggressive, not passive.
Are linebacker core might get solid as f***
Chula need some new power players corners give him some new corners pass rushers then he is golden
just hope enough of Grandpa Don Shula's football DNA made its way down to grandson Chris . . . as the defense does require some upgrades in the right places . . .

Was A. Pleasant considered ??
Yes was interviewed! Maybe will be the guy when Shula gets a HC job one day.
I must say, I'm very surprised about this promotion of Shula but I'm going to stay positive. Just please God don't have Shula defensive be a Raheem Morris 2.0 scheme. I couldn't take seeing that piss poor defensive scheme yet another season.
I was OK with it, particularly given the players they let go . . . like Wagner, Ramsey, Floyd, and a whole bunch of DBs . . .
hope AD99 retires a Ram, if that's what he wants . . . would hate to see the Rams organization make the kind of mistake they did with ED29 . . .
Frontiere and Shaw were Rams nightmares . . .
🐏🏉💙💛💛‼️
Better the personalities you know. Don't want any Philly type situations.
Sean was 30 when he got to L.A. It was just before he turned 31. By the way, he’s not in that Encino house anymore. 😂
Probably a much bigger, better one! Cheers to you brother.
Yes, the new house is in Hidden Hills…He just turned 38…It’s amazing that we’re going into year eight with the Rams. Time flies!
@@JohnMcVay1 couldn’t be more appreciative of him as fans. Have a good feeling they have a really solid plan in place!
