I love them all, I know which one I'd buy if I could only have more but...
This is more about your choice.
"e ink vs rlcd"??? but i dont see that compare.... i want to see a same pictures and same videos on the both screen.... but this video i only see your face 😔 😔.... can you share another video in the truth "vs" ...thanks..😄
Thank you for sharing this! I have been looking around for options for outdoor computing needs for a little while. I've seen reports of e-ink fading in the sun, and the reflective LCDs appeared to stop getting sold 10+ years ago. I'm glad to see they're making a comeback.
Try the Sunvision rLCD. You'll love it and never look back.
Already there, love love love my sun vision rlcd display as my primary monitor at work. As a senior research engineer I am on it for long times, and it is amazing.
Which the model do you use?
Same here! The Sunvision reLCD is the BEST monitor I've ever used. I could never go back to a traditional monitor again for the same reason Kit mentions - eye strain.
I think the issue with rlcd is not just front light vs back light, is the refresh rate. The rcld is likely refreshing at 60hz. The e-ink is 0hz.
In my personal opinion LCD it self does not stress the eyes, majority of the stress come from the PWM backlight control and the way GPU refresh the screen at 60hz or 120hz and the blue light emitted by the led. So basically switch the reader to preset DC dimming and changing the way GPU commands the LCD panel or give it a reading mode or video mode if needed that would make really nice eye saving LCD multi purpose reader. I don’t think blue light from led is a problem at 2023 as long as manufacturers are willing to put in the right type of led.
I wish you would demonstrate devicesl like those in outdoor conditions... under actual direct sunlight.
This dude is the master of vocal fry. I could see him as a radio DJ.
I’m thinking the same thing. I have to play at 1.5 speed to eliminate it. Smoker perhaps? Great videos though.
found the Amerimutt
"How about RLCD vs projector? I know the applications of both devices are different, but just for reducing eye strain, which one is better?
Good question!
Projector works better in dark room. RLCD and eink are great in natural sunlight. Depends on what you planning to do.
Are both equally relaxing for the eyes?
The Daylight DC1 seems to have a RLCD too, although they are pretty secretive on saying that it is one
"we invented a new type of e-paper" lmaooooo that guy is such a transflective grifter
just the fact that the company doesn't own any patents for this technology they're claiming to have 'invented' makes it so obvious
Thanks for the video, and get well soon!
I still remember some of the early PocketPC devices having a reflective LCD screen in the early 2000's. I wonder which other technologies might get resurrected soon!
Your content and review are fantastic, but PLEASE open your mouth more! For non-native speakers of English, you're very difficult to understand because there's not enough articulation of the individual sounds. Thank you for the excellent review.
Kaleido 3 is faster than gallery 3. Maybe we need to focus more on kaleido 3...
Yeah, I'm keen to try one for sure, but the first side by side from good e-reader makes it look like Gallery is streets ahead in terms of how it looks once fully refreshed!
I would be curious about a how would eink and rlcd would look in a video made with high frame rate camera (960fps or more). Those videos showcase the way the screen gets refreshed at it would show if rlcd refreshes the displayed screen even if it shows a static image or it just freezes the displayed frame which would be preferred and it would be more eink like behavior.
This is a good idea. And you are right about the frame rate thing. Many devices go as slow as 1fps within variable frame rate and this could be well incorporated into RLCD.
It would be good to see electrowetting display start to happen
Hi! Which one gives you less eye strain?
What keyboard did you use with the RLCD tablet? 🤔 Thanks for the video!
Keychron K3 I think. Good keyboard.
Cant wait for booxes next gen flagship
100%!
do your eyes feel less strain using eink or rlcd?
That's a good question, I guess I will know more after using them both long term. First thoughts probably e-ink is less, mainly due to the white front light on this particular RLCD.
Couldn't you just buy a anti glare matt screen protector for oled. Than it would match e ink outdoors?
yes exactly lol
Why don't you just put an anti glare protector on any OLED smartphone and try it yourself?
The vocal fry is strong in this one.
I think I was getting a cold here, I've lost my voice in the last few days!
@@KitBetts-Masters yeah, sounding a bit like your voice box turned into a deep fryer which in turn turned your vocal chords into strips of bacon 😆 (sorry, couldn't resist 😉).
Seriously though, I hope you could avert that cold and thanks for the video! (great, now I want yet another device with a niche display technology inserted into my arrangement of monitors & e-reader 😅)
20 moulbrough a day for sure
I'm sure he is better by now, but yeah, there were so many words I couldn't make out. Heh.
@@t0dd000 Lols, an accent thing?
this annoying music makes *no* sense and does, what self-luminous displays makes so stressful...
Why should I hear music, while you're talking to me? You are a teacher, right? Do you play backgroundmusic in your classroom?
can u review Daylight RLCD tablet?
Ranking?
Thanks! Can I easily use any of those to connect to my macbook to use as my screen? I use python and r and I dont know if I can use either one directly on them without a separate computer but Im just looking for an eye friendly screen
I don't think there are any current ones which have hdmi input. Although eink monitors exist. I use an app called spacedesk but I think that's only windows.
Forget eye strain. Your voice is giving me ear strain
Lol 😂
