I've seen 3-5 newly graduated kids sleep in those 900 Sq ft apartment downtown with no parking. Most people in the city are moving into Maryland and Virginia due to the ultra high rent prices. Spend 600-700k on 900 Sq. Ft. Or that much for a 3500-5000 Sq. Ft. house in the MV. You be the judge. Guaranteed that these condo will turn into apartments quickly. Not hating, just stating the facts.

Damn, 650k for a one bedroom condo with 900 sq. ft. of living space! That's too much! It may be the norm now for the DMV, but it's too high for a one bedroom even if it is a condo and regardless of its locale or the district that it's in. The DMV is trying to charge NYC real estate prices.
These units are for the upper class not 20 year old works. They pricing everyone out. There will be a lot of foreign and business buyers. You can get a 650 house/townhouse in the DMV.
DMV always seemed to be high cost of living. This particular area is in DC so you next to the white house and all that. But in general yeah, that's pretty bad. You'd need $130K just to step inside and young professionals don't all come from the same walks of life. So this for the young professional that can actually afford to live with their parents (if their parents don't live in awful conditions themselves) for a while to save up by that case, might as well buy a single family unit. But preferences are different for everyone.

Your mortgage payments is going to be 3K+ that’s with putting down a 20% down payment which most people won’t be able to do with their first time homebuyers. I’m a mortgage lender so I know. If it’s a married couple and both are making 100K a piece, that makes more sense

The key is going to be how great the community access is within the building. Swimming Pool? Weight Room/Cardio Room? Sauna/Steam Room? Bar 🍺 and Restaurant or Food Kiosk ? Business Office ?
