Hi Rick, love see you doing these as I enjoy bending wire myself don't know why. Anyway, in Venezuela, the orchid growers have another model of rhizome clio which might be interesting for you and your viewers. Same rhizime clip like yours on one end, but instead of starting out with 12 inch length you add on another 12 inches or so. When you get to the last bend (where you go across the pot) you make ab additional bend IN AN UPWARD DIRECTION, adding a hook at the end (last bend). Thus becomes your hanger, so two things in one piece -- clip + hanger! Can we see you demonstrate thus fir everyone! This surely is Venezuelan, I have never seen this one for sale, but it comes on all our orchids in this country.
Rick, easy instructions, the first one wasn't as neat as yours, but by the 3rd one I made it came out great!! Much thanks again. Making a variety of clips .Seems to be no end for the uses of these clips. Genius of an idea!!!!!! Fred
Fred thank you..........I dont plant one with out a clip......keeps them neat and tidy, less breakage of new canes, flower spikes etc.......and they come in handy for picking them up with too.....
Thanks for sharing....looks easy...i need to buy some wire No husband to help me out! I wonder what Guage wire also need to find that video you posted on the ones you put inside each put to use as a stake and the one you make to hang the pots. Good health and God bless you and your wife! May God give you many healthy years so you can share your wisdom with us and hold back on the progression of your chronic illness. Have a good day today with your wife and puppy dogs and your orchids and violets and your other plant babies!

William, my new friend......I sure will do another video....I need to do one on my treatment....i was wheelchair bound and had lost all my cognitive abilities....I walk and can run, and even drive again......and no no.....we never give up, things do happen, and if you have faith.....even more so....I will keep you and your fellow friends in my prayers and thoughts.........thank you!
This summer I just broke over 100 clay pots. Just tired of cleaning salt and green stuff off of the pots. Sigh, now I know better. Anyway, I see you had one plastic pot. Will all your orchid clips, rings ect. work on my plastic pots? They do have the top rim. Thanks for all your help and please don't stop the nutrition information.
Jeej more clips thanks dear. I have a little diff clip i made. But yours looks steadier. Sturdy-er... anyway thanks for showing. Next can you make a pot stand for plastic with a rim... i nees a few on my brassias and they are in 15cm plastic and would like to habe the growths a little bit supported and less everywhere. So save sime space. Ooooo ps rick geuss what... i get new boards to make good shelves 2.5 meters and i can have room for loads of plants. Just need light i found 3 grow light for canabis (or a terrarium but we are in holland so canabis is a good geuss) in the thriftshop like laughed my ass of and payed peanuts just need a fixture that doesnt melt from the heat. Amd ill use 1 in my regular ceiling fixture to bridge the time until i have proper led lights. But it also heats the room and i found a humidifier in that same thriftshop... 😍 is stil watnt the new one i saw online for 55 euro that has a build in hygrometer and turns on and off out of its own keeping it a steady humidty. But for now....im set. Im shure this weekend will be the weekend i van show my grow room.... I'm so happy. Big hugs amd sorry i havent e-mailed im sooooo busy and got an ear full since im not doing okay and need to do less and rest more amd eat more and bla bla bla i know but its bin crazy this week got more meds and next week i prob some more othwer meds from a nother terapist.... but mo wories ill take care if myself beter amd will show you what ive done with the room and plants. Im so proud and exited. Bye bye hunny big big hugs and love from my house to yours 🌹❤🌹
.....the first few may not be perfect.....but after you make a few they will be...…...its more about the idee and their use than looks.....great work Donna
I make clips basically the same way, with one exception....I put a slight "inward" bend in the outer loop just below where the wire passes the pot's lip..This holds better for me and doesn't tend to slip upward.
Hi Rick, what plier do you used in your demonstrations? I can't seam to find one that looks like yours ,love your videos they're very helpful thanks a lot have a great day.
As an orchid newbie, what is a rhizome clip used for? To hold the rhizomes in place, I do get that part. I'm curious to understand if I need to do this for every type of orchid? I have 4 Phalaenopsis and 4 baby Cattelayas I'm getting ready to repot. I was looking up your video in making clips and found this one. A new one for me! Is it just a good idea for holding the rhizome/plant in place while watering, hanging? I want to try hanging my Phals on an angle like they would grow in the wild. Thanks for all your wonderful videos and sharing knowledge. Have a nice evening, Rick.
very kind thank you.......Rhizome clips hold the plants root stem or Rhizome securely.......if it wiggles the roots will have a hard time getting started.....orchids like to be secure....the stakes I make and use do the same thing ,,,,,,but better, ....helps hold the upright, very secure and the stake is used down the road to maintain and train new growths and flower spikes....

yes I will.....
Thanks a lot!!!!!
Hi Rick, what plier do you used in your demonstrations? I can't seam to find one that looks like yours ,love your videos they're very helpful thanks a lot have a great day.
made by Stanley......its a normal pliers, but has some rubber grips for the hands, easier to use in my opinion.

Hey Rick, what plier do you use to make your clips ,thanks much have a good evening.
hi rick! do you think thinner copper wiring would be ok to use for this? Or might that lead to overdosing the plants with copper? lol
What gage of wire do you use? Sorry if this is a repetitive question. Really enjoying your videos, by the way.
16ga ceiling tie wire......used for hanging acoustical ceilings.....thank you very much...
Another for the hubby to watch😜
lol.........thats so funny.
😜
