  • Jeff Ferge of Somerville, Tenn., demonstrates cross-haul logging at the 2020 Brush Creek Plow Day held at the Carrey Burnett farm in Melber, Kentucky. You can tell Jeff has done this just about every day with this team. They make it look easy but its the result of a lot of training and repetition. The full video plus another we shot in Jackson, Tenn., where Jeff was loggin in the woods with this team, are available on our youtube channel, / ruralheritage

Jeff and his horses work so well together as a team, he commands them quietly and can get them to move just a matter of inches at a time. Hauling the logs up onto the wagon looked effortless for this beautiful pair.
