more than 20yrs ago drive this car for a day its was difficult to believe that is only 2.0 size engine-so effortless acceleration, not say superfast, but feels like 3.0 engine . special car, timeless body design and if color red its a best design created [not made, but CREATED] car .
I have two 166, one is equipped with the TS engine, the second is an JTD with automatic transmission. I had V6 in the past. In my opinion TS have the best handling, but engine is unfortunately a little bit underpowered :)
@@JoJanDiezel I have 175HP with SporTronic transmission. Engine is fantastic, but automatic gearbox is mismatched and functionality is a little bit harsh and sloppy. I tested it on three cars, which I had in the past. Fuel consumption estimated about 5-6 liters on the lazy highway to 10 liters in the city per 100 km. Transmission is produced by Aisin Warner, it's AW 55-50 model. They used this tranny in a lot of model of cars - Volvo V70, Suzuki Vitara, some kind of Chevrolet and Saturn. You can do some research online for reviews of this gearbox - They're not very good. It is possible to use the car with this gearbox, but I know better models ;) A very important thing - the gearbox works fantastic on the highway - It's a real pain to use it in the city - the reason is the wrong gear ratio gradation!
I have a 166, but with the V6 engine and is great. The TS is a little underpowered, even in lighter cars, as i also own an Alfa GT with the 1.8 Twin Spark.
Thanks! Feels like a limousine, in a good way. Pretty stable, very big and comfy seats. It's a cruiser in every sense though it's quite capable in long corners. If you have the chance pick up a V6 do it, you have to wring out the 2.0 TS a lot more which sometimes gets a little bit tiring.

Just insane to me that they even made the 2 liter sound so good. Alfa really knew what they were doing huh
Rosso Proteo with Zender looks very nice! Even powered by 2.0TS Alfa 166 is a nice limo 😊

2,4jtd with 150hp? I'm looking at 2,4jtd with 175hp also automatic. What is you opinion? What fuel consuption in the city do you have?

Merhaba, bu 166 da 6 vitesmi şanzıman mı var yoksa 5 vitesmi ?
Can you ask again in English mate :-)?
@@atstickyday3270 Hello, does this 166 have a 6-speed gearbox? Or is there a 5-speed gearbox?
@@yasinaksakal9573 I believe this was a 6 speed. Not sure, I do not own the car.
