“Around about 2 nautical miles per litre”. That’s 1 litre per 3.7km. There is absolutely no way.
Maybe it’s 2 litres per nautical mile
@@sadenuttie2234 Definitely.
@@sadenuttie2234 yes it clearly that lol
This really can only be considered a day boat due to the 'slapping' noise on the hull. Very typical of alloy boats, can send you nuts after a while.
This ain't no 12ft tinny lol. I haven't overnighted in a dickey but I've overnighted in a 8m extreme, slept like a baby. What slapping you talking about?
Luke Paul I believe he means the drumie sound but in reality it’s quite methodical and not so bad
I hate it also, drives me bananas. Wouldn't be able to sleep on that! The thing is, it doesn't have to be rough at all, and there is always that bloody tinkling sound. And it's quite loud on some.
@@barrysargent1213 I love my alloy boats and Dickey make some of the best. Its just horses for courses. Every material has its place, it just a real shame most of the Glass manufacturers are stuck in the 80's with their design and layout. As far as this boat is concerned its neither here nor there for me.
Nothing an extra bottle of Pinot won’t fix
I love everything to do with the sea, boats, ships and fishing
Yamaha 300hp diesel?
Correction the cook top and heater are diesel.
That’s not quite enough power though to go over the Columbia bar. You need a little more power to climb up on those swells & not put yourself in a bad position. I do like the design of the boat & how well it rides in rough water but I would definitely want a bigger outboard or twin motors on the stern.
Hey John thanks for the video good info though lm very much interested in the "kiwi king "dickey custom 800.
Where can I get to see one first hand.. I'm residing in johor state of Malaysia.. Please advice.. Thanks so much
is there an option to dampen the sound of water slapping on the hull?
Yeah....its called a pair of foam earplugs. lol
Yes, buy a fibreglass boat
Very nice boat.. Thanks
Amazing 6:07
Good but listen to the water slap, that would drive anybody to distraction.
Nice
Such a big aluminium boat, still have the water ponding noises.
Nice boat = Nice Price ?
That's 300 thousands dollars boat !!!
At 51 seconds you say it runs on diesel??
The reviewer is saying a two burner cooker runs in diesel, along with a cabin heater. Safer than LPG gas is the rationale for choosing this option.
That noise
You’re telling me the Subaru Forester launched and retrieved that boat? What the f***.
At 0:30 thats a toyota cruiser, but still close to towing capacity
Very very good
Your economy of 2nm/ litre miles is way off and this being an extremely important statistic is very unprofessional not to edit it out anyway its 2nm/US gallon which is 1km/litre at 20 knots
2 nautical miles per litre... lol! I own this very motor and it wouldn't get 1 nm per litre!
It's a very efficient hull
@@NZFarmboy80 efficient hull or not, you cannot break the rules of physics
Happened to come across this video again and nearly pissed myself again when he said 2nm per litre! That's 3.7km per L!!!! A 12ft tinny with a 15HP four stroke would struggle with that!
