Harborplace was once the jewel of Baltimore for decades and partly responsible for the Renaissance of the city starting in 1980. Now its 3/4 vacant due to crime and other issues
My family will nit allow me to take the train into town anymore. Took grandkids to Science center about 7 years ago. Last time I went into Baltimore. Sad
I'm hoping for the best but........ Sometimes it amazes me at how the super rich remain wealthy, when they make decisions like this. Clearly there's an "end game" and an "out" for anyone investing in Harborplace, because they HAVE to know that the city can no longer sustain entertainment, shopping and tourism in that area. It will look amazing in the beginning and in a few years things will return to business as usual. It's kinda reminds me of how Target thought it was a good idea to put a store at Mondawmin Mall. Anyone with half a brain knew exactly how that was going to end.
It doesn't matter if they put a million or a billion dollars into it. IT IS STILL IN BALTIMORE. No one wants to get shot or robbed to eat downtown. Baltimore is a HUGE NO THANKS for the last few years.
That’s good. Harborplace will remain in local ownership.
*That man going to change that place into high priced condominiums...That use to be a pretty cool place to visit*
I hope it's official. I want to see a redevelopment competition between Port Covington and Inner Harbor.
Harbor view was the place when it first opened. There were so many things to do(shops, restaurants and bars).
A fantastic place to be.
