Sad fact: The reason Shigaraki's hair turned blue and his eyes turned red, is because his quirk destroyed the melanin in his body.. Similar to why his voice is all scuffed and his face is 'crusty', his quirk is similar to Dabi's quirk: their quirks hurt their bodies...

Maybe, and this is just a theory (it's prolly wrong tho lol) but maybe shigaraki's quirk kinda tied in with his emotions. like, after he killed his sister, he was feeling strong negative emotions like shock, guilt, grief, etc... What if that's why his quirk was stronger then? Again, this is just a theory, and is most likely wrong.
