I wish that he could understand that he can be loved. Like even when he learns the truth about his betrayals he still has a very grim outlook on life like he doesn't really believe that he could ever be good and that there's nothing more to it than to just be kept around as long as he provides some sort of use or value. I think that’s taking away responsibility from Ei. She’s a deadbeat mother who doesn’t even deserve the grace of your comment. She was a coward, power hungry and abandoned her creation, she never even tried to make things right. If they weren’t puppets, everyone would hate Ei/Raiden- the same energy should be given here in my opinion.
(To clarify, I’m not angry, I may sound it a bit but I just can’t defend Ei/Raiden. I don’t like her, because of her eternal weakness- because that’s the only thing that will remain the same forever.)
