    The most famous polonaise and also Horowitz's favorite encore from his Russian days to his very last recital. He excelled at maximizing the narrative and bringing out the 'heroic' aspect of the work. Yes, it was an encore piece.
    Of the numerous recordings left, my carefully chosen one is from a live performance in 1979. The excitement after the concert, the enthusiastic response from the audience, and Horowitz showing off what he wants, everything is contained in it.

    At first I was wondering why the hell would a horowitz recording go unreleased but I think the claps say it all lol

    Is there any records of his earlier preformances online? Would love to hear the maestros's performance of this piece from is younger days.

      I believe there is a 1930s or 1940 recording of him playing it somewhere on youtube.
