Pokemon Cards were extremely popular when I was in elementary school in the late 90's early 00's. I remember that the fair was in town and that as a 7 year old boy I went there with my aunt and my aunt wanted to give me money to go on the rides. Of course I liked rides a lot, but I still told my aunt that I would rather go to the local toy store to buy Pokémon cards. That day I bought my first base set starter deck and some booster packs. When I look at my vintage booster pack collection, these memories always come to mind.😉
Right back then a pack was 5$ for a kids that expensive and to a parent that a dumb thing to spend money on. So a lot of is 90 babies never brought packs jut had to trade candy and toys for Pokémon cards...
Just getting back into pokemon cards now in my mid-20's. I have great memories of collecting pokemon when I was 5-8 years old. I watched the TV show every day, collected the cards, played the game, my entire room was pokemon-themed with stickers of all original 150 pokemon stickers on my walls. My life basically surrounded around pokemon when I was little and I'm excited to get back into the hobby!
Collecting Pokémon cards is definitely nostalgic. But my favorite thing about collecting cards (especially vintage cards) is absolutely the art and history. I’ve loved researching the beginnings of the entire franchise and I think the vintage art on these cards is breathtaking
I was so excited throughout the week to see what my 1 pack consisted of - I was telling EVERYONE I saw! My wife and I had a rough day and she received some bad news from the Doc's office so we were late for the live stream. My pack was about 12 min in and we started about 20 min into the vid - we could not wait until the live stream ended to watch the replay but once we did it made it all worth it and pulling that 1st edition Pigeot made our days just a little bit better. Sometimes just a small good thing can go a long way - Thanks for bringing that nostalgic feeling back to us - It was almost like I was opening that pack with my buds at the Middle School breakfast table eating biscuits and gravy again!

Why I collect Pokemon cards: I was a huge Pokemon fan back in the days (1999) and I never really lost my love for Pokemon. I did stop collecting cards for a long time. A couple of years ago I wanted to share my past passion with the next generation and started a Pokemon League in my town. The League is now pretty big with a variety of players (young and old). I started to play the card game again and before I knew it, I also started to collect again. I love to share my passion with the players and kids and the satisfaction of slowly finishing my sets. The pleasure I get from collecting, playing and organizing events makes sure I maintain a healthy balance between work, social live and my own time.

It’s been a big bonding experience during quarantine too , we’d pick up a few packs at the store when we did our biweekly grocery shopping or order from online game stores. I had some first edition Shadowless in there and base jungle fossil base set 2 rocket some japanese neo and that's when I stopped collecting and started playing video games. For me, it was something refreshing to bring me excitement and surprise me during a time where every day was very redundant.
Started collecting again about 6 years ago. Girlfriend brought me the original 3 starters for Christmas and haven’t stopped building my collection from there. Cant think of anything more satisfying the adding a clean holo card to my collection 👌

We would also battle with our Pokémon, but looking back on it, we had no clue how to play lol, just made it up as we went. I collect Pokemon cards because Pokemon in general was a major influence in my life. It kept me social and allowed for me to make so many friends playing the card game and the video games. Currently I collect vintage cards that I couldn't have gotten when I was a kid. Pokemon is still a major part of my life and I hope that never changes.

I found a gold star mew in my binder of cards from when I was a kid, I wanted to sell it so I looked it up and saw the insane value of the card and became interested and just started watching all these youtubers and became obsessed.

My kids collected Pokémon cards, my nephews collected, and my stepdad would buy for all of them. Any time he visited he would treat them to a pack or two. He passed away a few years ago and we found his own personal collection. I inherited that collection from him. And now I collect. So much fun.

I first found out about Pokémon Cards through my big brother who was five years older than I am. He always gave me his doubles - which were the very foundation of my collection! Mostly the unwanted and not so special cards of base / jungle / fossil, yet still very precious to me since they were all gifts from my brother. Some of those cards are still here in my apartment even though I haven't heard from my brother in quite some years since our ways have parted. So Pokémon always awakes this feeling of cozy nostalgia in my heart thinking back to me and my brother playing with our newest cards, and yet keeps me obsessed with them till this day!

I was a teenager in the '90s with my first job and money to burn when the pokemon TCG came out. I collected up through the Neo series heavily, then got out of it for over a decade (I have regrets over this, some of those sets had such pretty art), though I never gave up my addiction to the games themselves. I have kids now, and they've gotten into the card game now too. So why I collect is twofold: firstly for the nostalgia, and even better, for the fun I have opening packs together with my kids and just having a good time looking at the great artwork with them. ...well also I like a lot of the art, so I guess that's three reasons. Shiny cardboard addict forever!

Started collecting again about 6 years ago. Girlfriend brought me the original 3 starters for Christmas and haven’t stopped building my collection from there. Cant think of anything more satisfying the adding a clean holo card to my collection 👌
I grew up collecting Pokémon cards with my brother and we always would sit and watch the Pokémon anime/cartoon together. We would also battle with our Pokémon, but looking back on it, we had no clue how to play lol, just made it up as we went. He got back in collecting before I did, but now I have started to collect again with my own children and it bring me such joy to see them as excited about Pokémon as I was when I was there age. I collect Pokemon cards because Pokemon in general was a major influence in my life. It kept me social and allowed for me to make so many friends playing the card game and the video games. Currently I collect vintage cards that I couldn't have gotten when I was a kid. Pokemon is still a major part of my life and I hope that never changes.
I still enjoy collecting pokemon card ever since the late 90s as a kid. Now I can share and help my kids start their collections and just have that bond with them like I did with my parents. Good luck everyone

I found a gold star mew in my binder of cards from when I was a kid, I wanted to sell it so I looked it up and saw the insane value of the card and became interested and just started watching all these youtubers and became obsessed.

My kids collected Pokémon cards, my nephews collected, and my stepdad would buy for all of them. Any time he visited he would treat them to a pack or two. He passed away a few years ago and we found his own personal collection. I inherited that collection from him. And now I collect. So much fun.
Me and my brother used to just sit at the dinner table battling over and over again when we were kids. Spent so many hours building decks and testing them against each other. Some of my favorite memories. I actually started watching the old show to reboot the memories.

Got my first pokemoncard from my older sister, it was a very very very played golem. I was hooked instantly and have never stopped collecting since. The hobby definetely caused me some bullying, but loved the game to much to stop. I will NEVER stop collecting :) :)

I first found out about Pokémon Cards through my big brother who was five years older than I am. He always gave me his doubles - which were the very foundation of my collection! Mostly the unwanted and not so special cards of base / jungle / fossil, yet still very precious to me since they were all gifts from my brother. Some of those cards are still here in my apartment even though I haven't heard from my brother in quite some years since our ways have parted.
So Pokémon always awakes this feeling of cozy nostalgia in my heart thinking back to me and my brother playing with our newest cards, and yet keeps me obsessed with them till this day!

I was a teenager in the '90s with my first job and money to burn when the pokemon TCG came out. I collected up through the Neo series heavily, then got out of it for over a decade (I have regrets over this, some of those sets had such pretty art), though I never gave up my addiction to the games themselves. I have kids now, and they've gotten into the card game now too. So why I collect is twofold: firstly for the nostalgia, and even better, for the fun I have opening packs together with my kids and just having a good time looking at the great artwork with them.
...well also I like a lot of the art, so I guess that's three reasons. Shiny cardboard addict forever!
I was 1 when it started in 1999 but i collected them early 2000s and loved getting cards from walmart. I get excited even today seeing the cards you pull so i recently started collecting again searching for vintage packs. Even have bought some new packs checking out the art on them
I collect Pokemon Cards to escape the reality of today! Sometimes i get so busy, and life can get numb, but the excitement and nostalgia from packs like these are priceless. It never gets old!!!

I collect pokémon cards because when i was younger i loved anything that had to do with pokémon. & i couldn’t afford to start collecting. the cards i had when i was a child were given to me by a great friend and since then i never “grew out of” collecting pokémon cards. So much nostalgia with pokémon cards, i don’t think i’ll ever stop collecting.
I collected for a few years when pokemon cards first came out and then completely lost touch with the hobby for almost 20 years. Recently I've moved from watching videos to actually collecting again. I live about 5 hours from my childhood home but have been told that my cards are apparently still there. Can't wait to find out myself next time I visit! The nostalgia drives me to collect.
