    It's time for another analysis of a strength and conditioning routine, this time of the boxing world champion, Artur Beterbiev. By the time of this video, Artur is 38 years old, and he has won all of his fights via stoppage. He has a truly fundamental and time-proven approach to strength and power training backed by science. In this video, we will go through his routine, and I will offer input on his exercise selection.

    He puts the foam pad on the chest during Bench Press to reduce the range of motion and this reduce the load and stress on the shoulders. I learned this from one of Phil Daru's videos. He was explaining how boxers have overworked shoulders and as such he doesn't want to put extra load on them.

      As someone who’s done the board/pad bench press i think it wold be better if he did something like a pin bench press or floor press because they do the same thing, but are safer and are not nearly as much of a hassle to set up.

      no, the foam compresses fully. it is for dynamic purposes.

    Brother thank you for making these videos. They've helped me so much this past week its unreal. I've been trying to find S&C suggestions and advice on the internet for YEARS because my kickboxing coach is a pretty old school guy and doesn't believe in weights, and I finally found your channel my man! It would be awesome if you did something like this about Demetrius Johnson, my personal favorite UFC/ONE fighter. Thank you for making this kind of content, please do continue! Peace ✌

    One thought on the so called touch and go squats, it appears that he has to hold, then release and catch the weight again. Not sure why,but catching the weight may be the focus on that.

    does getting stronger make you faster what i don't get is that the extra mass that you gain slows you down but also speeds you up since you get stronger, if its strue so do u get faster than the speed you lose or slower

    From what I have learned from personal experience, and working with professional trainers. Increasing weight on bench press can lead to negative effects. When you are on your back all the weight you are lifting, ends with the ball of your shoulder swishing into your rotator cuff. Which then causes rotator cuffs becoming swollen and over time can lead to a lot of negative effects. Explosive forms of push ups are better, dramatically reducing the amount of pressure directly onto the cuff. Reducing risk of injury, maintaining range of motion and circulation in your arms.

    I don't think the purpose of the foam on his chest is to protect his chest from the bar. I think it's to protect his shoulders from over-rotating and exerting themselves in a compromised position.

    Honestly such a good video. The combination of strength training and powerlifting with boxing is a big win,
    But dude, the guy has won 19 fights by ko and you’re questioning half reps? I’m fairly certain that just done to isolate muscles. Pretty basic stuff I thought??

    Correlation between punch power and ohp bench strength is a crucial question ?But not solved precisely still

    • @CommanderBunbun-fx5xu
      @CommanderBunbun-fx5xu 9 месяцев назад +2

      What you can bench has nothing to do with your punch power. In boxing, the muscles from benching will slow you down and tire you. Punching power comes from the speed of the punch and the weight transfer. Artur Betebiev keeps his punches near his body and transfers a lot of weight behind them. That's why he has a 100% KO rate. Since his punches are shorter, they're harder to see and harder to block or escape. Artur style is about pressure.
