You know I to do this as well very significant way to water.
You are right! Bottom watering has helped in making sure the water gets where it needs to go 🌿💦♥️
Normally I bottom water my plants once they are very dry. However, that’ll take very long time for the upper soil can soaked up water if the soil from top to bottom is too dry. Small pot will take 1hour and large pot will take over 2days to soak up throughly. Finally, I find a method that let the soil soak up water more quicker and at the same time keep the benefits of real bottom-watering. That is to pour only a little amount of water slowly on the top soil. Just to moist it up a little bit and let the capillary mechanism in soil and the roots do their job to suck up the enough amount of water they really needed. You can notice that the water level in the bowl remains constant once the soil and the plant have enough amount of water.
Wow!!! I love your videos. :3 !!! You really help me to take care of my plants :3 !!! I’m a beginner. :3
Yaaay! So happy you like the videos and to meet another plant beginner 🥰🌿 welcome to the community! ♥️
Do you water a snake plant by bottom watering too? Snakes plants are hardest for me to take care of for some reason
Hai! I just wanna ask, can i use this bottom watering planting for my anthurium pink flamingo? And how many times do i water it in a week? Btw you are so lovely 😊
Hiii! Thanks so much for your comment 🥰♥️🌿! Yes! You can totally use this watering method for your anthurium, in fact I use it with mine and she seems really happy!
I actually check the soil in my anthurium every week, so I water about every week or so (but no more often than once a week, as we don't want to over water!)
You can also watch this on anthurium care ♥️ ruclips.net/video/8Lx__m_ybxs/видео.html it is one of my first videos in this channel 😅 sending lots of positive energy to you and your anthurium!! ♥️♥️🌿

Thank you Lucia, love your vids but since I started doing the bottom watering, I have been struggling with gnats...any possible connection?
Hi! Thanks for your comment!
Sorry to hear you have fungus gnats 😕! Hmm fungus gnats are tricky! We can get them for different reasons:
1. Either they already come in the soil of a plant we bought (larvae may be already there) or in soil we buy for our plants
2. Another way is overwatering of course, as they thrive in humid conditions..
When you bottom water your plants, do you let the water drain down completely? I usually let my plant in the dish rack for 30 minutes to an hour, so I make sure the water is completely out and the soil is not soggy..
Let me know if this helps! For now, I can also share the video on how to get rid of gnats, they are super annoying! ruclips.net/video/y2L0RxAmKGo/видео.html
Let me know if this helps and if you have any more questions!
That's an interesting technique. Would you recommend this technique for plants who needs less water? Like sanseverias or (other) succulent like plants?
Actually I'm doing pretty fine with watering my plants right now. But I'm always curious about new informations. :)
Hi! I am sorry I missed this before! mm for succulents I do it a little differently, you can find my technique here: ruclips.net/video/Jl5YHhJU4dc/видео.html
Hope this is helpful :)
Do you wanter your peperomia raindrop this way as well?
Mine has brown stain and is losing its leaves .. I wonder i am not watering it correctly.. thank for your videos :)
I do ! How’s yours now ? Also how often do you water it ?
@@PlantsandLucia thank you for your reply. My seems a bit sick.. loosing their leaves .. I was watering it once a week sometimes twice because the soil was dry. Then I realized I could not keep it under direct exposition to the sun. So I moved it. Now only when needed (soil dry)..
Hi Lucia, I love your videos! Can you please tell us about how you have your ivy so long and beautiful. I want mine to be beautiful like yours ❤❤
