You’re right about the dynamat. My only problem with it is it’s heavy and expensive but it works great. I put it on the inside of the door skin and also on the inside of the door. Much more solid feeling.
Awesome Suburban! When I was a kid, my took one of these, with the SBC that had a two barrel carburetor, from VA to Mexico, made for kinda a Roadkill episode...nobody died and made it back safely to VA 🤷🏽♂️😂
Super clean, super practical build for anyone who wants a daily that isn't ate up with computers. I'm doing a similar build myself. Definitely won't be this detailed though. Too many irons in the fire to be putting so much jack in 1 car. I have a 12v Cummins swapped 63 continental I'm about to put some DSWs on. Such a classy wheel for old rides.

I would change some stuff as far as cosmetics and add cruise control for interstate. But that said its a beauty. And dude that extra room in the engine bay is just amazing. So much space to work, take note car manufacturers....

I have an all original 2WD 89 with the 7.4 that I’m going to restore one day. I’m working on Cummins Swapping it’s 4WD big brother right now so it’s going to be a while. I have a 73 Crew Cab that I’ll Cummins swap after I restore the 7.4 too. I’m going to put it on a 98 3500 frame so I can lower it and keep the 4WD. Yeah, fun times.
Super clean build Brother! Most folks don’t know what it takes to do one of these. I’m about to finish my Restauration on my 87k30 Army Truck. It has a 6.0 with a 4L80e Trans and vintage air.
I had 2 of them box suburban but they were 4x4 and one was a '81 1500 the other was a '86 2500.....needless to say I liked the 1/2 ton better....that thing was a beast, basically unstoppable it never let me down, and it would suprise everybody when I'd swing doughnuts on it on dry asphalt with 33" off road tires, the first doughnut took a little time to get around but after the 3rd one and the momentum was going that thing would swing like buttah, kinda like a dog chasing it's tail.........some tweaker obviously liked the truck more than me because after coming back from partying all night I come to find it gone only to realize a tweaker stole it........the 2500 had transmission issues with the th400 a few months after I got it, so in reality I really didn't get too much quality time with it , and the '86 had way more smog crap on it than the '81 so it was basically a pig......the '81 had a black gm good wrench 290hp replacement motor in it ......thing was tough as nails, I ran it into the ground and it always came back for more.....
I think the black dash pad is a tasteful contrast to the blue. Sweet burb. I’m rebuilding a 6.0 and 4l80e for my K5 Blazer. Hoping to put it this next winter/spring. I’m doing body/paint now.
I bought a gun and paint to do the same but I’m struggling to get started knowing it’s a ton of work. Lol. Would love to see some picks when you get it swapped. Thanks

I have a 1985 gmc sierra classic c15 2wd I'm restoring I redid the complete front suspension and ac it's painted now. I have new tail lights and chrome underneath the tail lights abs headliner grill side marker lights all new window seals refurbished wing vents.
Did the same swap in my '86 C10 pick up...and cruise control is a easy add on on LS swap! on mine QA1 in front and TCI in rear suspension! keep the good work nice Burb :o)
