I love Dr. Martens so much and being able to share via this series is an honor. Your thumbs up, comments and subscriptions goes a long way! Thanks so much for the support always!
Hi Kal, Great clip. Thanks for putting this up, as i have always wondered about these types of docs. The sole on them seem slightly denser and have the original thread, seems thicker. They are rare to get, never seen them in size 10. Not sure if the British boot company have them anymore. ? Is the leather on the black ones a bit thicker then the modern Asian ones ? I think them ones are also made in Asia. Anyway, thank you. :]
Thanks 🙏🏻 All are made in asia and the density on the soles are pretty much the same as now. The leather on the black is a bit thinker for sure! I believe it’s a different leather then the modern smooths.
hey KaL, so ive been thinking about getting my first pair of Docs. 1460s of course, but ive been hearing about how the sole tread wears relatively quickly and its kinda scaring me off of getting some. so i would be wearing them super casually. like around the house and walking around in the city. should i be worrying about the longevity of the sole? will they last just fine for me? or should i maybe look into the Bex sole?
Fab question! Dr. Martens are fashion first! So durability and fashion is not something that is often intertwined. DM does have plenty that overlap on these important topics. A Bex or Ripple Sole may have more longevity, but it really goes from style to style. If fashion/Classic 1460 silhouette and longevity are your preferences then a 1460 Box or Ripple sounds good. But really - just get what you want, nothing lasts forever. Rotate with other footwear and you will be happy. Hope this helps.
@@KaLMichaeL Thank you for the response! i ended up going with a bex sole out of fear of balding on the staple sole but someday ill get to trying the original(:

@@KaLMichaeL Thank you. 🙂👍
I’d love to see you model them. Or get some tattooed people to model them.
Great request! I didn't do a walk around in these. Perhaps I will fit that into the schedule. Thanks!
