Also just wanna put that out there. That fury scene shlda lasted like 2 mins Fury is a M4a3E8 (76). With a 76mm M7 Cannon. Easily punch through that frontal armor. Conversely Fury wld have been targeted first. And If the German commander wasn't mentally defective he woulda shot for Fury first so 2 .ins either way

There was a better scene in "Talvisota". It was effectively the same except with light tanks and further up north and earlier in the war. Slightly dissappointed there wasn't that one scene where a soldier runs up to a T-34 and uses a 10kg AT landmine as a grenade.
The T-34 assault in “Cross of Iron” is 10x better than half of these. As is the BT-2/BT-7 assault in “My Way”. You should watch them, since you obviously haven’t seen them or they would be on this list. Seriously.
Had it been included it would have been the THIRD movie mentioned in the video to be shot in SFR Yugoslavia (the other two being "Kelly's Heroes" (no 10) and "The Battle of Neretva" (honorable mention).
That's the problem with voted lists. More people have heard of the A Team and Fury than The Beast, despite The Beast being the better movie - mostly due to distribution.
Jordan Shirey Too wide to be a Mk.VIII Liberty, and the turret is too narrow to be a Churchill. The hull is a Mk.VII, the turret is patterned off the Brits, but not exactly a singular type of turret.
Yeah "The Beast" was great. In Kelly's hero you picked the wrong scene. The best was the Sherman sneaking up behind a Tiger and firing a paint splattering shell with zero effect and then the Tiger's turret starts coming around ... then gets stuck on a tree. That tree deserves a metal otherwise that was one dead Sherman.
"Kelly's Heroes," starring Clint Eastwood and many others. It's about a group of American soldiers that find out there's lots of gold in this bank behind German lines during WWII. They decide to go after it, and what starts as a little raid turns into a sizable offensive as word leaks out about the gold. It's both a comedy and a gritty war movie.
Kelly's Heroes did a remarkable job depicting a decent-looking Tiger mock-up as well as the only American tactic to defeat them in a one on one battle using a Sherman -"Up the Ass". Comedy meets war realism. Even though farcical, it never insults one's intelligence, because GI's were well-known for being unorthodox in battle, for better or worse.
How can 'The Beast of War' always seem to be ignored when it comes to tank lists? Its only perhaps one of the best B movies about a Russian tank in Afghanistan that is stranded and alone after a raid on a Taliban village and becomes lost in the desert where the Alkida is chasing after it for revenge. The soundtrack is great and so are the Tank scenes.
Yeah, good one. I'm surprised, The Beast, didn't get a space on the list. It was a great movie that is so often overlooked. My favorite "tank" scene though is the Urban Assault Vehicle attack in the end of Stripes. I know, it was less of a tank as is was an armored RV, but it had one of the best, funniest armored doohickey scenes ever.
Excellent choice, as would be Sahara (with Humphrey Bogart) and Tank (with James Garner. All three of these movies are based on a tank, not just filming a scene around a tank.
Number 5 isn't a tank, it's an armored car. And for Fury at least two different Sherman easy eights where used for the role of Fury. And that tiger 131 should have been the star of the show considering it's the only working tiger, and the only one in a film.
I think Fury was great but that scene had a major flaw in that the Tiger tank advances on them to its own demise when it would have easily defeated them all by remaining from its original firing position.
Really no The Beast on your list? This was probably the best tank movie ever. Out of commission, become a pillbox. Out of ammo, become a bunker. Out of time, become heroes.
Oh shit yeah! I forgot about that movie. Leaps and bounds a better tank movie then the rest of this shit. All in all probably the most accurate and entertaining tank movie there is to date. Well spotted Jane.
Was trying to remember the name of that movie the entire time. Though it is ridiculous in portrayal, it was most certainly a cool movie(That whole interrogation part was pretty messed up and hilarious at the same time though).
Problem with the tank scene from Indiana Jones. The story takes place in 1938, that tank hits a kubelwagan head on. To which the kubelwagan was not in production until 1940. Speilberg fails history.
If you're wondering why you don't recognise the tank at no.1, it's because it isn't real. It is a British Mark I/IV tank with a fake turret on top. note the sponsons on the side.
Once again, "Mojo-I-know-nothing-about-movies" gets it wrong. The Bond scene is a joke, as is the Fast and Furious. Better considered would be "The Beast," about a Russian tank in Afghanistan during the war, and "The Battle of the Bulge" with the initial assault of the Tigers on the American forces. One could also mention the tank battle from "Patton," but I guess that's going back too far for these millennials. But I've learned to respect Mojos bad choices as trying to aspire to the younger, less-informed audiences, which is why Mojo has lost its mojo. (Did it ever have any?)
I agree with Battle of the Bulge, even though the "Tigers" in it are played by american Patton tanks ;) There's also a memorable tank fighting scene in the Finnish movie Talvisota, where soldiers defend against advancing Soviet tanks by jamming wooden blocks and sticks into their tracks and setting them on fire using molotov cocktails - which is how it really happened in the Winter War.
sibeerija channel Tigers and Panzers in general wore many different styles of camouflage and white wash during the winter. They changed it with the seasons, often in the field.
Stephen Pushak the white tiger movie didnt even feature a tiger, it was a monstrosity that was so pathetic in its failed portrayal of a tiger tank that it is almost laughable.
In FURY, FURY is clearly shown having the new 76mm gun which could easily punch through the frontal armor of a Tiger tank, they were so effective that Germans would go out of their way to make sure to destroy those tanks. Also even the most untrained tank commander would know that the best way to take out a column of tanks is to shoot the one at the front so that they cant advance then shoot the last one so they cant retreat and shoot as much other tanks as they can in the middle of the chaos
a tank drives off a hill and the guy survives as #1. In the A-team the guys hijack a c-17, get blown up by drones, but at the last minute they climb in the tank in the cargo bay and parachute into a lake while being shot at by 2 drones who just obliterated a c-17
Francisco vargas no man, just check the video's description on all of their videos they have a suggest pool for everyone, idk why people still use this old meme
Fury had the first ACTUAL TIGER 1 tank in any movie ever, I believe it deserved the spot up there. and the scene was much better when watched in theaters
Fuck there are probably 3 tank scenes in Kelly's heroes alone that are better than anything in the entire Fast and the Furious franchise, and they pick that shit as number 2 of all time?
It’s not a LAV because they would have more faster shooting (I’m not sure the exact mm) cannon The one seen on the “tank” in that scene was a APC but that’s just what I think Don’t quote me I’m not a armored vehicle expert
Josh Lacroix ik.....I havnt seen it in years but I can just vaguely remember it (spoilers) I remember the final scene where the police department get their hands on a bazooka and hit the tank to stop it from moving. gotta watch that movie again :)
BEST tank movie I've seen is THE BEAST. Highly recommend you see it if you haven't and your into tanks. It blows all these other movies out of the water for accuracy while maintaining the entertainment value. Don't know how it didn't make it on this list, huge oversight.
people vote on the lists. A list is suggested by a viewer. That list is then voted on by viewers to see if it is something watchmojo wants to explore. They then post the list for voting, your votes make the lists.
Cross of Iron ... The attack at german trench by t 34-85 is epic The beast ( k reynolds j. patrck ) in afghanisthan .. Battle of the Bulge ( year 1965 ) Lebanon ... and many others :D
So, what's new? Alrighty, so obviously we're aware of the hack. We're also working with RUclips (and the FBI, natch) on it. In the meantime, here's the latest video... expect more later today... and hopefully before long the old titles will be back to normal.
The lack of surviving Tiger tanks means that most movies use whatever WW2 vehicles they could get and just refit them to look like german tanks. They didn't do a bad job overall.
Four logs at a high angle, before hitting the tank armor at a high angle, and still penetrating and doing damage isn't that implausible. The only bad part of that scene is the tiger moving forward. Anyone who's played wot, and I'm sure a German tank commander would know to back up and turn turn toward the threat, keeping the front armor to the enemy. The tiger would have won the fight then.
Actually Fury was a Sherman firefly tank which was mounted with a 17 Pounder AT gun which would have gone straight through the armor of the Tiger with no problem. So even before getting hit like that Fury would have taken it out with one or two shots right off the bat with no problem. The other Sherman tanks though would have lost in a straight up fight that part was accurate.
Fury is not Sherman Firefly. Fury is M4A3E8 / Easy 8 or its other name is M4A3 WHVSS. It uses 76mm american AT gun. Firefly use 17 pdr gun and its turret are more rounded rather than angeled like one on Easy 8. It doesnt resemble UK Firefly in anyway at all.
That four logs I believe is for when they want cross a big gap or something, they mix their logs with other tank crew log to make a bridge. or use as tools. Well thats what Russian always do on their T-34 etc lol
Hoo boy, where to start? Fury was trying to be its own original deep, introspective war movie, but in the process it ended up just copying the same stereotypes and cliches that have already been driven into the ground by far, far better movies. There was the whole soldier-remembers-traumatic-moment scene, the heroic last stand, the bad-guy-is-not-all-bad scene, etc. The real problem with the movie came with how they represented males and females though. The entire point of the movie was that the main character needed to BECOME A DAMN MAN HOORAH and that he had to do that by giving up all emotion and compassion, get laid, kill some helpless people, and develop serious emotional and mental damage. The only female characters of note showed up halfway through the movie for just over thirty minutes (The whole movie was almost two hours) and existed only to get the main character laid, form an emotional connection with him, then die. They had barely any character development and their entire role in the movie felt like it was shoehorned in to add a bit of lust to the overall feel. Basically, Fury was trying to be a deep war movie but it just ended up accidentally representing the worst problems with modern American society.
It was one of the most well depicted and realistic movies of the war(minus the last hollywood style battle). It showed how the war was not about heroes, and that war makes people bitter, not brave. It was gritty, not some saints and soldiers bullshit where every man is clean and showered and all the tanks are clean and washed. The SFX are the best from a WW2 movie I have seen, and depict what tracer rounds ACTUALLY look like. The acting is very impressive, especially for a war movie. It's not a story of heroes, but about what war does to men.
Seriously! Where's PATTON (a film about {arguably} the greatest tank commander in history)? Where's A BRIDGE TOO FAR (huge columns of tanks commanded by Michael f*#%king Caine)? Where's THE BEAST (1988) (a lone Soviet tank crew trying to survive in Afghanistan)? Most of these scenes are visual gags, not actual tank combat. From THE BEAST: "Out of commission, become a pillbox. Out of ammo, become a bunker. Out of time, become heroes." From THE INTERVIEW: "In my country it's pronounced Stallone". Jesus, you guys can do better.
Patton greatest, dont make me laugh , Erwin Rommel - Heinz Guderian - Erich von Manstein , all German generals all betther them Patton , so lets not even talk about Patton being the greatest.
Ok for all of you Tiger fanboys - that scene in Fury isn't as unrealistic as you think it is. Firstly - shooting the last tank and moving closer to the Shermans: this was the end of the war and most tank aces were dead. In Otto Carius's Jagdtiger group many tanks were lost due to inexperienced crews making bad decisions or panicking. Remember they were getting 16 year olds to fly He162s by this stage. Secondly, the Sherman was by far the faster tank and the Firefly Shermans could punch through anything but the front armour at long range. I know you like the Tiger (and let's face it - some of you are a bit too into the 3rd Reich) but it was far from the perfect tank. Fear of it boosted it to a legendary reputation, arguably to beyond its capabilities.
Two better scenes from Kelly's Heroes were when Oddball's three tanks came out of the tunnel to attack the German base, and when they fired at the Tiger with a paint shell.
Yeah, Battle of the Bulge would have been a better pick over PotA and honestly, Fury plays to the incorrect assumption that US Tanks were inferior to Tigers. The US Tanks could reach a battlefield by train, truck, or their own power in WW2. A Tiger needed a train and truck just to get from the factory to the armory. Panthers were even worse. In addition, by the end of 1944, HVAP-armed Shermans were killing what few Tigers were left head on at a thousand yards.
***** Actually, an Irish-born US Cavalry Tanker, with the rank of Major in the Reserves, who works for the Russian Online Game Company, Wargaming, is actually paid to fly around the world and enter old archives and pull that stuff out. Thus the information is collaberated by Russian, British, French, GERMAN, Canadian, and other nations who used the Sherman, which by the way, was being used to kill T-54/55s and later T-62s as late the 1980s and some information exists that Shermans killed Syrian T-72s. If the Sherman was so bad, how did have an operational combat life of more than 50 years? There were WAY more T-34s and they had the 85mm. Of course, the Israelis, being short on tanks, figured out how to stick 105mm guns on Shermans. That was after they stuck the French version of the Panther's gun on Shermans as well. Look up M-50 and M-51, as Super Sherman and Isherman are outside Israel names. Additionally, Panther had only an operation range of 75 kilometers and that wasn't fuel, but its drive system. Its transmission literally burned up after only 75 kilometers. The drive wheels for the tracks broke down after only 150 kilometers. Tiger was only better as it could get over 150 kilometers before something broke. And Tigers were ALWAYS breaking down. Many Tiger units often reported a high operational status, but that was because any Panzer that needed serious repair was never returned to the unit that sent it in, instead it was sent to a newly raised unit and the original tankers of that Panzer, suddenly were issued rifles. So Non-Rollers, as they were called, were left on the Operational Listing simply to have something with armor and a large gun. Sherman on the other hand, yes, it was moved by train, but trains and trucks saved on fuel, wear, tear, and extended operational life of the tank and saved the crew's endurance for actual battle, but Sherman had an operational range based on its fuel tank and tracks (which were saved from wear and tear when the Sherman was transported), not its engines, transmissions, and drive wheels. By the way, this whole Murica thing... Are you that jealous or simply afraid to actually Man Up.
The Battle of the Bulge made no effort to mock up the tanks to look like German Tigers and Panthers, they used American M-60's without any mock-up. Kelly's Heroes at least did some sheet metal works to make the tanks look ostensibly like a Tiger. Check it out sometime.
"Fury" was a great movie, but that one fight with the Tiger I ruined the whole thing. I have no idea why the commander of that Tiger decided to leave a concealed position and leave him exposed to multiple threats, not to mention Brad and his crew were extremely lucky to have survived, the 8,8 cm L/71 that the Tiger uses would have almost overmatched the armor or detonated the ammunition or killed crew members.
Kaid Nickl I don't think you understand that they thought that they could easily kill a few Sherman's and in most cases they could but they got lucky it happens
Kaid Nickl take a look at Sydney Valpy Radly-Walters he destroyed 18 Germany vehicles and was most likely the one who took out the German tank ace and guess what it was a SHERMAN firefly that took out a TIGER I
the Tiger I carries a 8.8cm KwK 36 L/56, not the 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71. The Tiger was forced to move up due to the smoke. Reversing would not help the Tiger's situation, and remaining still would be a death knell. I hope you do realize what interiors of tanks are a major factor in the process of an ammunition cook off.
Kaid Nickl At the distance the fight took place, the Sherman 76mm could easily punch through the frontal armor of the Tiger as well. By 1944, the 76mm could destroy vehicles just as well as the 88mm at normal combat ranges. All in a package that was smaller, lighter, more accurate, and with a higher rate of fire. The myth about the 17lber being better than the 76mm is just that, a myth. It offered slightly better penetration for lower Rate of fire and accuracy.
The most seeringly intense tank scene is in the WWII film, "Attack", with Jack Palance. For some reason, "Attack" gets overlooked, time and time again, in lists of WWII films.
battle of the bulge? which one? i mean, there are many things related to battle of the bulge and tanks, and there's one movie that put the battle in a desert where germans and americans are fighting each other in american tanks (if i remember correctly), so i would just like to know if that's what you're thinking of.
Goateeth you are most correct. Battle of the Bulge really f*cked up the tank scenes, from the topography of the battle fields to their use of M-60's and maybe even some M-48's. How much time, money and effort would it have taken to throw some cheap sheet metal on the tanks to make them look even a little bit like a Tiger or Panther, They didn't skimp on the cast,, but the tanks were a real insult.
Gringo The complaints you make were complaints when the movie was first released. But the criticism did not go unheard and UA attempted to do exactly what you suggest in a Bridge Too Far, which unfortunately was an excellent and genuine war movie but did not do well at the box office. They did exactly as you suggest and made Tigers out of M4s. They also took great care to get the story lines right, the over all battle story was much more historically accurate. Studios cutting over head costs sacrificed authenticity and would film in foreign countries and hire foreign militarizes in some cases because it was cheaper than refurbishing tanks etc., Ted Turner bought the rights to Gettysburg which for lack of funds would have been filmed in Hungary or some place like that Turner took the bright idea to use Civil War re-enactors and film it at Gettysburg. What non-veterans don't usually get is the pride and commitment to having the story told correctly, not to do so belittles the veteran. It says well you guys were sort of heroes but we have to beef up the story line and make your story more dramatic to sell tickets. The problem with The Battle of the Bulge is the story is too big for a movie. Battleground is better because it focuses on one Platoon, Band of Brothers episodes are better Greater care was taken to get Bridge Over the Remagen historically correct, despite the real problems. cinematographers had forcing them to flee the country (During the filming in 1968, the Soviet Army invaded Czechoslovakia to reinstall a hard-line Communist government, forcing the film cast and crew to flee to the West in taxis-wiki). they were filming in selected because it had similar topographical features and era equipment and even rebuilt the towers for the bridge they did a lot of things right, not perfect.. For my two cents The Battle of the Bulge, was one of the worse war movies I've seen, it has moments gets the very broad strokes correct but is more like a war novel than a war novel.
This list fails because Kelly's Heros, the best tank movie ever, should have been #1, 2 & probably 3 instead at the bottom! I assume it's because youngsters are not familiar with it.
i'm 19 and it's one of the best films i have ever seen, it made me laugh. Why mojo why did you have to have it at 10, when it should be 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tank is an armored vehicle So an APC can still be considered a tank like the pz.kfz 222 aka Puma which isn’t even a tank so yeah... The number 5 is isn’t a tank but look at the puma of the German “tank” of the Second World War
I was also thinking the same. In Fury the Tiger tank scene is impressive but without a doubt the best tank scene in Fury is the last stand. Nothing shows the power of a tank and well trained crew than that scene. I haven't seen "The Beast" so I can't compare the two but whenever I hear best tank scene I immediately think of Fury.
Not to be rude, but have you watched BATTLE OF THE BULGE recently? I loved it as kid. But I've gone back & watched again not so long ago. It really doesn't hold up. Again, I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm sure I love a lot of films that people could pull apart. But it really does make the Battle of the Bulge look like about a dozen guys fought the whole battle.
Telly Savalas (again!), Henry Fonda, James MacArthur, Robert Ryan, Charles Bronson and a bunch of M-47 Pattons (Ironically playing King Tigers), and M24 Chaffees playing Shermans.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Bulge_(film)
Victor .A They did destroy Fury, with less than 1/3 losses. The Waffen SS during the Battle of Berlin were mostly the notable French volunteer division. It seems that the foreign elements of the Waffen SS did better than the German Waffen SS. When fighting Americans I see very little on the German's part. Especially at Bloody Gulch (Carentan) and Holtzwihr. Looking at the battle of Holtzwihr the last scene wasn't that bad. The PaK 40 scene wasn't good on the other hand.
Two pak 40's with a good trained crew could put off a shot every 4 seconds, you could wipe out a whole line of tanks with one hidden in the bushes with a flash hider
A Bridge Too Far? Which centres around a whole armoured column featuring in single shots more tanks than you're likely to see in the whole of any other war film? Though also, they don't do very much actually fighting - but then you can't really count being swung around by a CGI'd comic strip character as hard-core tank action either.
The biggest mistake is that the Tiger destroyed the last tank in the column. Tiger commanders were highly trained and definitely would know to destroy the first tank in the column to block the rest of the enemy. That alone should tell you that the movie Tiger crew were a bunch of idiots.
Silevern That's really the only problem with the scene. However Tiger commander's were not consistently the highly experienced highly trained Wittman clone people think of. Especially by this point in the war.
Agreed. Apart from the fact that American troops seldom encountered a Tiger in France or Germany till the very end(Most of them were in the Eastern Front), Tigers picked Shermans from a mile away, taking advantage of much better optics and range. Michael Wittman destroyed 15 tanks, 15 armored vehicles and two self-propelled guns in 15 minutes with a Tiger. That should tell you that the most likely result of that encounter would be three burning Shermans and all their crews dead or running away.
Hmmm, never realized how fake that Tiger in Saving Private Ryan looks. And please, Fury ? Especially that scene ? This movie was just stupid. White Tiger was a more accurate portrait of WW2 than this....
+Joseph Klas I somewhat agree with Fury but I don't see what's wrong with Saving Private Ryan. It's a production made tank for the movie seeing as there's literally 1 Tiger tank left in real life.
+Joseph Klas I read that the tiger tank in furry was actually a real tiger tank that can still drive and was put back into a museum after shooting that scene.
"The Beast" 1988
A movie about a Soviet tank crew lost in a valley in Afghanistan during the Soviet-Afghan conflict.
Good Movie
One of my favourite tank movies, second only to Fury
squashing execution should have been number 1
Anyone on here know where I can see The Beast is it on Netflix? VUDU? Amazon?
A while ago there was a copy on Dailymotion. Otherwise try piratebay. Its not on Netflix
Surprised there's no mention of 1988's "The Beast" about a Soviet T-55 tank crew in Afghanistan. It's a full-blown bloody, two-hour spectacle.
Yeah, its a great movie and I expected it would be in the top 3.
I agree! The exclusion actually bugs me. "The Beast" was a wonderful and naturalistic (if not realistic) tank film.
brilliant film, fantastic scenery, fantastic score.
I kept waiting for a scene from The Beast on this list.
Exactly, great movie. Whole thing based on the tank crew. Isreali upgrade 55 with the L 7 gun. Nice Super Frelon footage, as well.

My favorite is Tank Scenes from Mr. Bean Series, Back to School Episode. When the Tank hit his Mini Cooper.
Number 5 is not a tank. It's an armored car, APC. Get your fact straight, WatchMojo.
could be a light tank, but probably an APC.
That one should be replaced with something from The Beast (1988). A totally under rated movie about a Soviet Tank crew in Afghanistan.
i think its an LAV but whatever.
no apc, no lav, it´s definately a recon vehicle

That's the problem with voted lists. More people have heard of the A Team and Fury than The Beast, despite The Beast being the better movie - mostly due to distribution.
The Indiana Jones tank looks like they took a Churchill's turret and a Mark I from WW1 and slapped it together
More like the VII and a AEC Mk.II
Exactly what I thought...it didn't even look german. The turret was closer to the Church VII though.
The tank was provided by the Republic of Hatay, remember when they gave the sultan the car as compensation for crossing their territory?
It's a Mk. VIII with a Churchill VII turret on top.
That tree deserves a metal otherwise that was one dead Sherman.
kelly's hero?
"Kelly's Heroes," starring Clint Eastwood and many others. It's about a group of American soldiers that find out there's lots of gold in this bank behind German lines during WWII. They decide to go after it, and what starts as a little raid turns into a sizable offensive as word leaks out about the gold. It's both a comedy and a gritty war movie.
Jorel Jackson i see, will check it our someday
Kelly's Heroes, yeah, one of my all time favorites. Fantastic movie! Hilarious sixties humor in it too.
Kellys heroes tunnel scene is also a good one
I love that movie, long since I watched it but still great
I like the scene in Kelly's Heros where oddball is following the Tiger up the alley.
Anyone know where I can get this movie?
A better scene, actually.
Well, TANKS for the list. (I'm sorry! I couldn't help myself.)
Hahahahahahahah.
I think this list Tanked! :-)
Lol, good one!!!
Tanks for the memories.
My God, what did I start here?
How can 'The Beast of War' always seem to be ignored when it comes to tank lists? Its only perhaps one of the best B movies about a Russian tank in Afghanistan that is stranded and alone after a raid on a Taliban village and becomes lost in the desert where the Alkida is chasing after it for revenge. The soundtrack is great and so are the Tank scenes.
sounds great will have to watch it.
I agree: The Beast and the movie Tank with James Garner are great and have some great tank scenes.
Fuck man,I think I've just found the name of the movie which I was searching for.Thank you! I watched this movie when I was a kid.Very great movie.
Number 5 isn't a tank, it's an armored car. And for Fury at least two different Sherman easy eights where used for the role of Fury. And that tiger 131 should have been the star of the show considering it's the only working tiger, and the only one in a film.
In time 131 should have a movie made about it
fury should have been number 1
it's the first real tiger tank in a movie since 1950 in "They were not divided
It's some sort of LAV
I think Fury was great but that scene had a major flaw in that the Tiger tank advances on them to its own demise when it would have easily defeated them all by remaining from its original firing position.
"THE bEAST" - not even an honorable mention??? Watchmojo - you need to research first before posting! Shame on you!
One of my favorite all time films
they probably haven’t heard of it
One movie is missing, today's cult classic "Tank Girl."
cult classic ? Not even many people know about..
@Average Asian (Mr. Sushi) And thank god for that.
never heard of it
Lorri Petty was hot back then...if u like steam punk chicks of which she was one of the FIRST ever.
Ultradalek7 I barely new about it after searching up m3 Stuart in the Wiki, I'm a ww2 fan but "Tank Girl' isn't known widely
Though it is ridiculous in portrayal, it was most certainly a cool movie(That whole interrogation part was pretty messed up and hilarious at the same time though).
yup, with you on that one, should have been there.
JaneCobbsHat Dude I love that movie! For a low budget movie, the tank action was the best one could find, especially in the days before CGI
And so many good scenes to choose from.
Not as explodingly spectacular as some of the others maybe, but a very, very good movie.
Problem with the tank scene from Indiana Jones. The story takes place in 1938, that tank hits a kubelwagan head on. To which the kubelwagan was not in production until 1940.
Speilberg fails history.
I'm glad someone else noticed it
Well...there were prototypes made on November 1938, but that would be too risky to use on the battlefield. He probably didn't get his info correct.
but i think that the tank was a mark 4 and those had a top speed at 5 km/h
And the fact that they have mp40's (as in 1940) in 1938 isnt shocking too?
world.guns.ru/userfiles/images/smg/smg33/mp38-1.jpg you see this is mp-38 can you spot the diffrence between mp 40 and 38
What about the movie, "Tank!" when James Garner drives a Sherman tank through a corrupt Sheriff's office?
I was wondering the same thing
If you're wondering why you don't recognise the tank at no.1, it's because it isn't real. It is a British Mark I/IV tank with a fake turret on top. note the sponsons on the side.
* mk8
cheers
Looks more like a TOG II
It's a TOG I actually!
It's a mk VIII Liberty with a turret (looks like it's based off the Churchill mk VII) on top.
What about the 1984 movie "Tank?"

GOPNIK JUNIOR You’re right however not every tank has tracks
@@shep7544 The AFV and tanks are 2 different vehicles.
"I guess that's going back too far for these millennials".
But they have Kelly's Heroes.
best fucking movie the beast.
I agree with Battle of the Bulge, even though the "Tigers" in it are played by american Patton tanks ;)
There's also a memorable tank fighting scene in the Finnish movie Talvisota, where soldiers defend against advancing Soviet tanks by jamming wooden blocks and sticks into their tracks and setting them on fire using molotov cocktails - which is how it really happened in the Winter War.
Battle of the Bulge is a shamelessly inaccurate and bad movie, some battlescenes are nice though, the beast is awesome
What about the movie, Tank.?
Or Tank Girl?
White Tiger; hands down #1
Not really. It was a good movie, but hardly number 1 worthy.
that movie too raw, lack of embellishment , it was almost bad.
love it but the camouflage from t 34 to tiger is not so good... they could take the tiger in Kubinka tank museum :D
sibeerija channel
Tigers and Panzers in general wore many different styles of camouflage and white wash during the winter. They changed it with the seasons, often in the field.
Stephen Pushak the white tiger movie didnt even feature a tiger, it was a monstrosity that was so pathetic in its failed portrayal of a tiger tank that it is almost laughable.
what about the whole Thomas the tank engine movie?

C-130
Agreed. I was rooting for A-Team's tank scene. There ain't no tank scenes like that!

The beast/The beast of war is an amazing movie!
Fury had the first ACTUAL TIGER 1 tank in any movie ever, I believe it deserved the spot up there. and the scene was much better when watched in theaters
+Trey Greckicson the first ever movie to have a real Tiger in it was Theirs the Glory.
+Jaume vega T34 is american heavy tank -_-
The Beast is better than Fury, actually. By far!
Very poor. How can you have a Top 10 Movie Tank Scenes and not have 'PATTON', 'BATTLE OF THE BULGE'.
They used M-48s as German panzerkampwagons 7s King Tigers, so they probably didn't mention it to tank enthusiasts.
Fuck there are probably 3 tank scenes in Kelly's heroes alone that are better than anything in the entire Fast and the Furious franchise, and they pick that shit as number 2 of all time?

it isnt or it wouldnt had a explosive gun at the front (tank gun)
It’s not a LAV because they would have more faster shooting (I’m not sure the exact mm) cannon
The one seen on the “tank” in that scene was a APC but that’s just what I think
Don’t quote me I’m not a armored vehicle expert
i have no memory of an apc been used with that kind of weaponry it could be a IFV they have a little more armor and heavier weaponry than the apc

number 5 could of been the 1986 movie Tank
Josh Lacroix funny I thought the exact same thing

Josh Lacroix ik.....I havnt seen it in years but I can just vaguely remember it (spoilers)
I remember the final scene where the police department get their hands on a bazooka and hit the tank to stop it from moving.
gotta watch that movie again :)
BEST tank movie I've seen is THE BEAST. Highly recommend you see it if you haven't and your into tanks. It blows all these other movies out of the water for accuracy while maintaining the entertainment value. Don't know how it didn't make it on this list, huge oversight.
If they remade this list it would just be full of scenes from battle of the t34
are they stupid enough to get confused between an APC and a tank?
Yes
Where the Hell is Patton?
yes this, how can you forget.
Yes! That was the Movie that got George C. Scott his Oscar!!!
Have to agree a much better scene than the Kellys Heroes one they chose.
The Oscar he didn't accept. Great performance and an epic film.
I agree.
As soon as I saw the title, I hoped that Kelly's Heroes would make this list. I'm glad it did!
"Woof Woof!!" :)
There's no tank in Dawn of the planet of the apes. It's only an AFV (Armored Fighting Vehicle) or IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle)
It looks like an AFV because it lacks a space for the infantry compartment.
First a tank is a ADV.
Second that thing they used was a AAPC (ArmredArmoredPersonalCarrier)
Third you are right that its not a tank
Yes but it’s as close to a tank as you’re going to get without an actual tank
You forgot the Tank from the movie "TANK" with James Garner from 1984...that seems like it should've been an obvious choice.

agree, great movie

8:39 I didn't know Tigers used T-34 tracks...
The lack of surviving Tiger tanks means that most movies use whatever WW2 vehicles they could get and just refit them to look like german tanks. They didn't do a bad job overall.
I still think it was a good effort on Spielbergs part.
movie "props"

How could they leave out "The Beast"????? The Beast was by far the best tank movie ever made.
I hate the Fury scene, what, four logs stopped an 88 shell!
A log would barely make a difference plus the side armour is pretty thin so a tiger would have no problem punching thru it
Actually Fury was a Sherman firefly tank which was mounted with a 17 Pounder AT gun which would have gone straight through the armor of the Tiger with no problem.
Even though Kellys Heroes is number 10 it's one of the best ww2 movies out there
Was all ready to slam the author for not mentioning The Beast but many already did and that made me happy.
only north american movies are acetable in the lists of this chanel
Fury was such a shitty fucking movie.
why?
+MR.Chickennuget 360 tiger would have killed him
+MR.Chickennuget 360 super unrealistic
Where's 'The Beast of war'. It should be on this list for sure
Владимир Новиков He was crazy, not a dumbass
You have to remember Tiger commanders were picked, any Tiger commander always shoot the 76mm or the firely.
GIRLS UND PANZER THE MOVIE beats all of them.
Technically that "Fury" scene was from the TV-show finale though.
JanoTuotanto without the drift.
Ikr. You can fill half the top 10 slots with scenes from just Girls und Panzer.
If you try to drift with a heavy tank sooner or later you will destroy the tracks
run2u250 If James Bond can drift a tank so can a Japanese schoolgirl.
Top 10 hacked RUclips channels
That joke is already old and overused. Nice try...
Also a good tank movie is one called "Tank" from 1980
What about "Cross of Iron"?
Two better scenes from Kelly's Heroes were when Oddball's three tanks came out of the tunnel to attack the German base, and when they fired at the Tiger with a paint shell.
They left out 'Battle of the Bulge".
Yeah, they left out a lot of good movies.
*****
Actually, an Irish-born US Cavalry Tanker, with the rank of Major in the Reserves, who works for the Russian Online Game Company, Wargaming, is actually paid to fly around the world and enter old archives and pull that stuff out.
FLJBeliever1776 I feel bad 4 your fingers
+1 For Kelly's Heroes
It was my favorite movie as a kid (my father always skipped over the swearing scene) for the tank scenes.
Train tunnel scene from Kelly’s Heroes was the best. The end scene from Life is Beautiful is worth a mention as well
why do i click on these?
"Fury" was a great movie, but that one fight with the Tiger I ruined the whole thing.
I have no idea why the commander of that Tiger decided to leave a concealed position and leave him exposed to multiple threats, not to mention Brad and his crew were extremely lucky to have survived, the 8,8 cm L/71 that the Tiger uses would have almost overmatched the armor or detonated the ammunition or killed crew members.
Kaid Nickl I don't think you understand that they thought that they could easily kill a few Sherman's and in most cases they could but they got lucky it happens
Kaid Nickl also in real life sometimes the shell would shatter even if it could penetrate the armour
Kaid Nickl
At the distance the fight took place, the Sherman 76mm could easily punch through the frontal armor of the Tiger as well.
5 isn't a tank, just saying. It's more of an Armored Car tbh
The most seeringly intense tank scene is in the WWII film, "Attack", with Jack Palance. For some reason, "Attack" gets overlooked, time and time again, in lists of WWII films.
Buffalo soldiers and the fast and furious ones are just me playing gta v with a tank
Where was Patton? Battle of the Bulge?
Couldn't agree more!
How would they easily mistake a APC and a tank the difference is very noticible.
The news media does the same thing. To them an armored car is a tank. I don't understand it. I've known the difference since I was 8 years old
I can't understand how "The Beast" isn't even mentioned. It should be in the TOP 3.
How could you not include Enemy at the Gates, Battle of the Bulge, or White Tiger?
battle of the bulge? which one?
i mean, there are many things related to battle of the bulge and tanks, and there's one movie that put the battle in a desert where germans and americans are fighting each other in american tanks (if i remember correctly), so i would just like to know if that's what you're thinking of.
The actualmovie titled the Battle of The Bulge. Enemy at the Gates? Where's the tanks?
Bridge over the Remagen.
Studios cutting over head costs sacrificed authenticity and would film in foreign countries and hire foreign militarizes in some cases because it was cheaper than refurbishing tanks etc.,
Ted Turner bought the rights to Gettysburg which for lack of funds would have been filmed in Hungary or some place like that Turner took the bright idea to use Civil War re-enactors and film it at Gettysburg.
Battleground is better because it focuses on one Platoon, Band of Brothers episodes are better
Greater care was taken to get Bridge Over the Remagen historically correct, despite the real problems. cinematographers had forcing them to flee the country (During the filming in 1968, the Soviet Army invaded Czechoslovakia to reinstall a hard-line Communist government, forcing the film cast and crew to flee to the West in taxis-wiki). they were filming in selected because it had similar topographical features and era equipment and even rebuilt the towers for the bridge they did a lot of things right, not perfect..
For my two cents The Battle of the Bulge, was one of the worse war movies I've seen, it has moments gets the very broad strokes correct but is more like a war novel than a war novel.
"The Beast" Pure Soviet Afghanistan tank movie... T-55 vs... everyone ruclips.net/video/_jEQchTqaKA/видео.html&pbjreload=10
Number 10 should be number 1. Kellys heroes FTW.
This list fails because Kelly's Heros, the best tank movie ever, should have been #1, 2 & probably 3 instead at the bottom! I assume it's because youngsters are not familiar with it.
18 and I love it, great Cast, good story, and overall a gem from 1970. :)
i'm 19 and it's one of the best films i have ever seen, it made me laugh. Why mojo why did you have to have it at 10, when it should be 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
15 and my second favourite film with Clint Eastwood.
It makes pretty pictures.
I loved it as well, want to get it as soon as i can
1. Number five is not even a tank
2.Why did you not put the ending of fury as number one
i was thinking the same
Tank is an armored vehicle
So an APC can still be considered a tank
like the pz.kfz 222 aka Puma which isn’t even a tank so yeah...
The number 5 is isn’t a tank but look at the puma of the German “tank” of the Second World War
@@Mi-Nasuno Sd.Kfz 234/2 Puma
I was also thinking the same. In Fury the Tiger tank scene is impressive but without a doubt the best tank scene in Fury is the last stand. Nothing shows the power of a tank and well trained crew than that scene. I haven't seen "The Beast" so I can't compare the two but whenever I hear best tank scene I immediately think of Fury.
"Tank Scene" :)
Would've liked to have seen some footage from *The Beast* the movie about a Russian tank crew in Afghanistan. I guess I'll still subscribe though.
no scene from "Battle of the Bulge" with Robert Shaw as Oberst Hessler? U can't be serious..........
The editor may be too young to know. Still the best tank movie IMO
fligemon l
Wait Robert Shaw was in it wth???
Telly Savalas (again!), Henry Fonda, James MacArthur, Robert Ryan, Charles Bronson and a bunch of M-47 Pattons (Ironically playing King Tigers), and M24 Chaffees playing Shermans.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Bulge_(film)
personally the tank seen where Fury and its crew hold up against a 200-300 men SS batalion on its own should be #1
Well they lasted for the night,
Personally for me, 300-400 Waffen-SS soldiers destroyed 94 soviet tanks in a span of a week during the battle of berlin
That was the most cringeworthy and rage inducing scene in a movie that boasts about "authenticity". It was like an 8 year old scripted that scene.
3:59 when your Arti, is still reloading when u needed it in War Thunder RB.......LOL
SO..... TOP 10 HACKING .......maybe??

You're sharp, aren't ya?
Or just top 10 famous/damaging hacks (wiki leak hack, sony hack etc)
A Bridge Too Far? Which centres around a whole armoured column featuring in single shots more tanks than you're likely to see in the whole of any other war film?
Though also, they don't do very much actually fighting - but then you can't really count being swung around by a CGI'd comic strip character as hard-core tank action either.
And....where is "White tiger".....???!!!!!
sajinovich I KNOW RIGHT
That was actually a good movie man
DavidAkhter Yea it was
TacticalTactics That's true, but then again, the White Tiger is supposed to be fictional
Tbh they did put Fast and furious on here...they didn't do that much research and they chose very well known movies
You missed "The Beast" or "The Beast of War" -1988. There's a Baldwin in it.
STEAM SUMMER SALES ARE NOW LIVE!!!!!!
Nice
nobody cares, lmao
time to spend mad money
rip wallet
yea, and the steam website is pretty much down
Tank top speed cannot match cars.
Too hard to suspend disbelief.
came here 'cause i love "World of Tanks" !!! Anyone else...?
no, because i love tanks in real life.
Anything from WW2 that's military related has my interest.
Really ? Just from a game ? Get on with us, go real life...
Have you ever heard about Armored Warfare?
me
I like that the guys at 4:56 used a Semovente Cartrocarro model 1956 for an Abrams tank. It looks similar and is really effective.
NO tiger crew will NEVER do this move in Fury....
How you mean?
the tiger drive in the Fury movie forward..... a bad mistake... veeeeery bad mistake :D and unreal :D the tiger crews was really good
The biggest mistake is that the Tiger destroyed the last tank in the column.
Why are the American soldiers in Nr 6 driving in a German Leopard 1?
Hmmm, never realized how fake that Tiger in Saving Private Ryan looks. And please, Fury ? Especially that scene ? This movie was just stupid. White Tiger was a more accurate portrait of WW2 than this....
Bro chill its just movies
+Joseph Klas I somewhat agree with Fury but I don't see what's wrong with Saving Private Ryan. It's a production made tank for the movie seeing as there's literally 1 Tiger tank left in real life.
+Joseph Klas I read that the tiger tank in furry was actually a real tiger tank that can still drive and was put back into a museum after shooting that scene.
liam blaney I don't think so man I could be wrong but the actual one is tan. I don't think they'd let them re paint it like that.
the hulkscene is just crappy animated
Lucky Liker I know its a stupid scene
Ain't that the truth
Because there was a time where animating was new, but you probably dont know that bc your maybe still kids
@@gandalfmcgrey2673 not a kid and it was a crap scene.

favourite scene involving tanks is from the the big red one, when the tanks roll over them as they're dug in
