I absolutely love all of the designs!Your style is so beautiful, and you are really good at making characters unique! Thank you for featuring my character in this, I love her to bits and pieces! You’re an amazing person, thank you 💖
*epic gasp* noodl You did amazing on these designs! I love how all of them turned out. These are beautiful characters and backgrounds you made for them!
These are all very nice, can't help but feel a bit insecure about my babs story when i see everyone elses story telling skills in character submissions
nah you shouldn't feel bad. backstories are hard to make and some people put a lot of time into making them, sometimes characters are made without backstories and thats ok.
@@Candidragoness ik, just I'm weird and can barely come up with anything without talking it through with someone else, and finding folks to talk through stories with is harder than it sounds, they get better when i can talk through them more i promise
Yooooo they all look top notch! Great job Candi! 👏👏 ^^ I've probably already said it before, but I love how you do backstories for all these redesigns. It's going above and beyond! :3
Wonderfully imaginative video! it makes me want to get back to work on my series, it just takes a tremendous amount of time effort and energy to put content like this together is the issue, so it has been difficult for me to get that done on top of all of the other day-to-day responsibilities involved with basic independent survival
Mooooooood, I wish you luck on the journey. I know how tough it can be to stay motivated when you have to feed yourself and slave away 5-8 hrs out of the day. By the time you have time to yourself your creative energy is gone. Take all the time you need. Your creativity will suffer if you don't pace yourself.
@@Candidragoness You hit the nail on the head - the issue is gathering the necessary level of energy for content creation in light of other tasks which require that same energy to be used for other things. Most of my outlining now is basically a gigantic jotlist contained in a Google Docs file which works for me because it is something to keep coming back to whenever there is a spontaneous idea that quickly needs to be recorded from a smartphone during free moments before returning to whatever else I was doing at the time. Full-fledged novel writing for hours at a time uninterrupted is very hard to do. However, recording quick entries into an outline jotlist every now and then on a smartphone is not hard to do.
you had me at "Draconia Chronicles". where can i find the books? me and my friends are interested in reading this. this might be the new book series we all read together. maybe if there isnt an official physical copy i'll make my own until there is, idk (i wont sell it ofc) we'll see :)
It's my series I'm working on writing, the first book is over half way complete and will be released in ebook format first unless I can raise enough money to get them officially printed ^^
Okay, I just have to ask this for a myriad of reasons - what is your opinion of fanfiction and what age were you when you first began writing original stories about dragons? (i. e. original novels or fanfiction)
I like fanfiction, there's nothing wrong with it. I personally didn't write much aside from a few Spyro comics, most of my work has been original. I only really wrote in school until COVID came around and I was convinced to finally try writing the stories I had in my head. So I've been actively writing for about two maybe three years but I had never actually written a novel before, this will be my first. I started at 19
Its always been about dragons. Been obsessed drawing them since I was a little kid and I always wanted a mature xenofiction from their perspective instead of dragons always been an addition or side kick or villain of the story
@@Candidragoness And that was what I wanted to ask you about-the “dragon obsession” gene-which may be characterized as a predisposition to forming an all-consuming obsession with dragons, not just as animals, but as characters with complex life stories, abilities, and personalities that is always going on in one’s head no matter what else they seem to be going through in life. I was actually the same way. What “did it” for me was the Spyro franchise which compelled me to start writing a set of original stories (essentially fanfiction) which eventually became my own original novel series that I’ve been continuing to put together today. This all started for me before Wings of Fire was even published, so I am encouraged by its success as a genre. What would you say “did it” for you in this area in terms of triggering the novelization process for your own dragon obsession?
@@NNNNNNNNNNNNNNl Spyro specifically the legend series was my biggest influence, however my obsession started with a German figure collection called the krystonia collection at the age of 2 which is when I started drawing. After that how to train your dragon was my next biggest inspo for character design and Spyro for story telling. My stories also began before WoF but WoF has given me hope for success in the dragon xenofiction genre

Amazing! As I was watching I was thinking how you would do with a robotic draagon? What do you think?
I can do mech stuff, robots are a bit harder but not impossible

Wingless dragons that dont have frills are called drakes which means wingless dragon
Yep, although in my books lore a Drake refers to an Adult male dragon whereas a Durac is a "drake"
