I’ve made this exact same mistake. Sinking feeling when new PC wouldn’t power on, trying all sorts of different cables, etc. Then oh… this little switch near the power supply… “I” apparently means on and “o” means off… gaaaahhhh
gonna keep that power saver button in mind when I upgrade my PC lmao

The Microcenter PC Part buying experience is a whole ass screening process so you don't buy more than one thing. when I drove 1-2 hours up to my closest one, I got my parts and it took me 30+ mins to check out and had my ID checked, made an account, and had to do it for like every part. (I was getting a GPU and motherboard ONLY.
Still, good to know the average Microcenter experience is the same for everyone.
Says the power button is hidden - my dude it's directly under the kettle lead that goes to your power supply, you must've seen it when you plugged it in lmao

I bought a ps3 from Best Buy. It was supposed to be the new 250 gb model but in the box it had an old 1st gen 60 gb model with no serial numbers. Crazy situation but after some persuasive talk with Best Buy they did right.
That's probably why nowadays PSU's that have the power save button. It's a push toggle square button. So it doesn't look like the main switch.

Flats I built a new PC for the first time and when I powered on, everything worked but the monitor didn't turn on. Turns out I plugged HDMI in the MB instead of GPU -_- I feel your pain

On the first Pc I Built I had all the parts ready. I went over to friends house to build together and I was hyped. We got everything together and it didn't work. I tried his graphics cards and then it worked. Was mad because I had to wait another 2 weeks to get a new graphics card.

Honestly that power saving switch thingy. I don't blame you for it. Some of the PSU:s have so weird placements for raw power switches.
And I've probably done every fucking worst mistake what you could make while building a PC/booting it for the first time. Sometimes no matter how experienced you are,

@@retrorevival1 I've seen it once or twice before on a PSU before Flats mentioned it. It isn't common at all at least i don't come across one often
@@retrorevival1 And the ones i've seen were on some random crappy PSU:s that you wouldn't buy for a higher end PC. Some really low end stuff. So might be more of a thing in US
