This proves that with enough lighting, even a potato can shoot good footage.. not that Iphone 12 camera is a potato! But controlling the lighting is half the battle in photography and videography! This video is fantastic! The color calibration is phenomenal.

I know I’m late to this, but in case you’re still wondering, the Dolby Vision profile has an HLG base, which is one of the HDR formats supported by RUclips, and unlike HDR10 is backwards compatible to SDR too

LCD is better for your eyes. I changed my og iPhone SE for iPhone 12 mini and I feel eye strain after 15 min of use. With LCD screen I never noticed this.
@@bugarsandor2504 it takes time getting used to OLED displays. I'm using an OLED display in the dark rn and it doesn't even hurt. Another advantage is you can use a 3rd-party dimmer app and make the OLED go much darker than LCD.
Watching on my Samsung M31. Damn the display switches from Vivid to Natural Mode and becomes a tad brighter by itself when playing HDR Content, then returns to the Normal Vivid Mode and Brightness after it closes. Nice.
it's technically the best iphone footage possible till now but if if you but a blackmagic pocket 4k or any 4k camera that shoots in hlg for the same price you'll get far superior quality footage.

I now see why super amoled or even oled display don't necessarily require HDR 10+ because the panel can turn off automatically when there's no colour.HDR10+ is mandatory for LCD panels because it will surely cause alot of eye strain for the one who watches a video.

Funny thing my 11 pro also has oled Super Retina XDR display, same as that of the new 12 series. But man the colour accuracy is pure gold👌💯, apple did a fine job!

I had a phone with IPS LCD Panel before, now the 12 Pro Max is my first phone with OLED Screen - I‘m impressed. IPS really looks bad now in comparison to OLED... The viewing angles were already very good on IPS but the Backlight bleeding really annoyed me. Now they only have to bring OLED Computer Screens to market - That would be amazing.
