I like how Olivia’s song says to not be happier than when they were together, and then it goes to Ed’s where he wants them to be happy even though he isn’t.
What I think that story is: The first person (Olivia's part) and the other (Ed) were a couple but they didn't ended up together but with someone else even if they still has feelings for each other. One of them (Olivia) thought that he (Ed) was happy and was heartbroken still about the memories of their past while she also lied to herself and pretended to be happy to who she is with in the present even if she clearly isn't. The other person (Ed) thought the same but instead of feeling bitter, he just wished her well and sacrificed his feelings (reason why he even ended up with someone else, he thought Olivia was now happier). To summarize, they sacrificed and were heartbroken to see (or think) that the other person is happy but heartbreakingly unknown to the both of them, they are just happier together yet they didn't noticed. This was actually a headcanon (or analysis) for one of my sunken OTPs and I'm glad to find this mash up finally.

While listening to this song, I suddenly remembered my past relationship. Fun fact is we thought the pain is already gone, but memories keep on popping everytime we listen to heart broken songs.
