Manufacturer Warranty for On Grid inverter is minimum 7 Years. ( This is the least) There are few manufacturer who provide 7 years warranty and that can be extended up to 25 years and there will be a cost for it ( Extension of warranty will be 30% of inverter's cost)

On grid with an inverter and battery setup for emergency power shutdown situation is good. Even though you have to pay some minimal monthly charges, it is worth. I have installed off-grid close to 4 KW in my house on my own. Spend some 5000 for a solar training and buy all necessary things and you can setup on your own for off-grid.

Yes, they should be cautious on providing the vital information. There is no subsidy currently available. Net Meter costs 10K. I had setup 2KW panel few months back in my premises

There is no MNRE and TEDA subsidy from Government.Alsi, we have to pay Network charges Rs.1.27 / kWh Generated, even KWh Generated vs consumed being adjusted as per Net metering for domestic consumers, the Payback calculation after considering maintenance cost and interest on investment will be around 15years. Hence, considering present solar price and Government polices, Solar system is not worth to invest. If anyone interested in environmental performance improvement and having money shall go ahead. Government should make user friendly policies to make solar viable for common people.

Tariff structure if usage is above 500, the detail given in the board is wrong. I checked in the TNEB site "1-100 units - Rs 0 - Max usage is 9999999 units"
If eb usage cross 500 units, rs 250 will be reduced in the bill it is not free
If the the usage is less than 500 units it is free the 2.5rs per unit will start from 101

When the solar panel is new, you will get 4-5 units/kw but the amount of electricity that panels generate will declines gradually over time. I have installed 5kw in 2016 and now its generating around 3.5 units/kw.

Peak will be during July/Aug. I use to get around 27 units per day in 2016. But now, I am getting around 16-18 unit per day.

The EB bill can't be zero even with the new TANGEDCO plan.
This is because, as per new plan they introduce a new concept of network charges. A fixed amount / unit exported is charged as network charges. Hence, you can't make a zero electric bill in Tamilnadu.

I am having 3kw solar plant at my residence with net metering. I am shocked to know that Rs.300 has been charged for network charges from this cycle onwards eventhough I have credit from EB available.

As per TNEB we have to pay the network charges 20% of 1.27 per unit if you export excess current in daytime. Peoples needs to calculate the 2 months average and then plan ongrid solar panel. don't put the ongrid solar panel if you consume

Off grid solution is only possible option for zero bill.
Now policy is being completely changed as per the EB staff. Bi directional metering is not being considered in full generation . after calculation of the units consumed bimonthly , they deduct about Rs 2.25 per unit of the generated electricity with the solar panel. It is learnt solar is not economical in the present scenario . Kindly clarify..
It's exactly correct according to the Govt policy today. ic. flat Rs.2.50/unit only deducted for the excess uploaded units than the used units. This benifit also exhausted due to the net metering charge. This is the fact. No profit to the consumers.

See I given below the calculation of Solar Net Metering :
- Application registered for solar before 25.03.2019 is coming under Solar Net Metering
scheme.
- Calculation:
Difference in unit = import unit-Export unit
Total Charges calculation = Difference unit *Energy charges (based on slab as per Tariff)ie. Slab as per tariff rate you must see in your current bill back side.
If Export unit is greater than import unit, excess unit is adjusted with next assessment.
Domestic : Network charges on gross Solar generation is ₹0.26 per unit if your solar plant AC side capacity is less than 10KW and ₹0.96 for above 10KW.

I have applied on 24.7.22 on top of application clearly mentioned no subsidy. Also lot of harassment for applying on line. Now there is a new rule whatever unit u have generated from your solar the total unit generated @ 1.27 paise and the total amount you have to pay 20percent value to be paid to TAngidco. No zero bill.
This is how TNEB is bullying customers to make up it's losses. We people need to speek up.

Sir, I have on grid solar. 8.9 kW.
I get extra 800 ₹ the last 2 months. I understand there is additional network charges. But the thing is, this charge is not mentioned in the bill anywhere.
My bill says, 2200 ₹.
But in the end, it says total 3100 ₹. The 900 ₹ difference, no where it is mentioned about how that is calculated.

it's the network charges, but it is nowhere mentioned how it is being deducted. They simply add that to the EB bill without any explanation in the billing.
