In the specs for laser engravers there are two numbers: wattage and output wattage. What's the difference? Like the Longer Ray5 I am looking at says 20W output laser and 130W laser engraver.
I know that it will because even my 5watt laser cuts through 1/8". I'll have to get back to you on the settings, because I haven't done it on this laser yet.
Under the waffle board is a metal sheet that keeps the laser from burning whatever surface your laser is sitting on. The waffle itself board is what is used to secure your pieces down. If it serves another purpose, I'm not quite sure, lol.
Yes, depending on your location. I have one, I just don't have it on when filming shots. I have mine set up in my shop, with the door open and a fan blowing even when I'm not using the hood. Longer sells one or you can easily make a box with a small computer fan and that will work.
Man, I'm having a blast with this Ray5 laser from Longer!! I really appreciate them reaching out! Thanks Longer!!
Hi Taylor, 👍Hubby and I are just learning how to use our Xtool D1. We also are having fun with it. 😊Linda
oooo, an xtool! I'm a little jealous!

130W would be your impute or power supply number. 20W would be the strength of the laser itself.
Will this laser cut 1/8 plywood in one pass if so what’s the speed and power settings

Why do you need the waffle board?

Other reviewers say you need a ventilated hood. Is there truth to that?
