I'm thrilled to share Johann Sebastian Bach's 'Fugue in G Major' BWV 577, commonly known as the 'Gigue Fugue'. This delightful piece showcases Bach's unparalleled genius in counterpoint and rhythmic vitality.
In Bach's Fugue in G Major BWV 577, the lively gigue dance form serves as the foundation, with the fugue subject characterized by an energetic and buoyant rhythm. I've always found the gigue fugue to be delightful, and Jan plays it perfectly connoting its intrinsic mix of whimsy and power.
Indeed; you did as I thought; you made the organ your dancing partner for this exciting piece. Registration was precise and well suited; tempo is joyous and makes me want to do the gigue.

I especially appreciate that you gave the quarter notes more of their full value rather than playing them all staccato, and provided a sufficient degree of legato at relevant points -- bringing out the lyrical lines. Truly an artistic performance -- far beyond simply a technical run-through!. I really detest those who play all of the notes staccato ...

On ne connaît pas l'interprétation exacte des ornements des œuvres de Bach.... Koopman a aussi "désacralisé" l'entame de la célèbre toccata en ré mineur avec un trille identique....🤭

He plays the BEST music and he is extremely cute!
The pedal pipes need to be louder...much louder. The bass figure give this piece the necessary energy for a jig...or as Bach called it a "Gigue".
