I love printing for airsoft. I've made Halo Marine helmets and guns. I currently have a BR55 that feels more solid than most commercial guns, with a V3 gearbox, and an AEP M7 SMG. The unpainted WIP BR is on my channel shorts, I should probably make a new video with the finished version. Plans are for a HPA M7 and an MA5B next. The durability that a lot of people complain about with printing is very much down to the design, how you print it and the material you use. I'd highly recommend eSun's PLA super tough for those into printing for airsoft, or just wanting durable prints. Integrating metal reinforcements is also a gamechanger.
Also lame but needs paying attention to: Layering & active vs static insulation. I see a lot of players overheating on colder days because they’re wearing enough stuff to be warm when stationary, and then they start moving and it’s way too much. Knowing how to layer is often overlooked.
I'm in Texas so it doesn't play nearly as much of a factor down here as it does in New York but I've definitely seen new people put on standard "cool/cold months grocery store run" clothing to an airsoft game and then ditch half of it after the first game. I suppose it's hard to learn how to layer if you only live in conditions that demand it maybe 20% of the time, much less do activity in it.
I absolutely agree with the idea that there needs to be some sort of day at local fields that caters to hardcore players more. Because a lot of people like myself want to play without MEDs and with full auto and we're old enough to handle it, BUT I also think that there's a lot of kids who wouldn't be receptive to that. A lot of kids aren't necessarily ready to handle something like that maturely and I remember being a kid playing airsoft (like around 14) with other kids who were already afraid of getting shot. Now to be fair they never really got deep into airsoft like I did, but there's going to be at least some amount of rental kids that get into it and help grow the sport. So yeah you kinda proposed the best solution to the issue.
I honestly prefer casual games over the big milsim events. Enjoying a day away from work with fellow airsofters and just chewing the fat between games. Also too avoid some of the toxicity that does unfortunately occur at some of my local fields. I travel to different states for the day or maybe a whole weekend just to airsoft and chill.
Thanks for your recomendations! However i dont live in the US, i live in Panamá 🇵🇦 and i had to order my replicas through the internet, fortunely the Arturus ak12 that you mentioned its on sale here so il pick up, for the VFC M4s il will try to get it online
What are your thoughts on using red dots on pistols in airsoft (either for primaries or secondaries)? Real steel is very big on it these days but it's one aspect that airsoft doesn't seem to copy and there's almost no content for it.

Do you think an upgraded M249 featherweight would preform good in a MSW event or would that be frowned upon?
