Not gonna happen. Ricky no longer acknowledges Smerch and the K-man and wants all the marbles in terms of credit for his past co written projects as if Steve and then Karl weren’t crucial to his success. People blow smoke up his arse for reading his own tweets on stage and and repeatedly flogging the same shallow observations about the subject of a joke vs the joke and deconstructing his own ‘genius’ and calling it standup. There is no 3-6-2 in this hotel. Sometimes the complaints will be false. He couldn’t hang with Bill and Bobby in this podcast either. Ole’ Freckles tolerated him but doesn’t respect him. It was obvious.

Listening to Gervais being constantly shut down in this episode has made it by far my favourite one of these.
Came here after watching some edited clips if Golden Globe night.
Ever since I sat through my degree in Media Studies, never had I seen someone do media (well, Hollywood, to be exact) the best roast it deserves, because yes, it's high time the shock value starts coming back home.

Interesting. Bill has always been quite Alpha, quick and sharp as a tac. Ricky is very bright, considered and also doesn't get nervous under pressure. I can see why they mix like oil and water.

These work so much better when they put ricky on the back foot like in this one. Much better when he has strong personality guests, otherwise RG just pontificates for 60 mins

I think the conversation was great. Burr shows he's comfortable with people if he starts thrashing them, that's how he acts around his friends. Exactly what they were talking about about the 90s with Patrice and others.
I miss Tough Crowd.
He trash everybody he said so himself, it's not a positive thing per se. He's been really critical of Gervais for ages..

Nothing more ironic than a comic complaining about people being offended by their jokes which by design are meant to be controversial. If people didn't find them controversial they wouldn't be funny.

Burr's first film attempt was truly awful. He was "in" Breaking Bad, anyone could have played that role.
Gervais may have been insufferable for the last 15 years but he still bests Burr in every field (aside from maybe standup, and who cares about standup?). Burr has produced nothing that compares to The Office/Extras. And his podcasts, while good, don't touch the XFM shows, and Gervais and co practically invented the podcast 20 years ago. I love Ricky Gervais, I think he's brilliant. I also love Bill Burr....but....this is clearly not a mutual admiration society. I've only listened to half of this and I notice Bill won't get drawn on certain things or agree to a lot of Ricky's ideas. I don't know if it's jealousy or what but if you look back over their careers Ricky made a successful sitcom, decided he wanted to do stand up, went out and immediately filled theatres and very soon arenas. Bill Burr has had a slog, playing crap venues to small audiences, scraping by for years before the big time hit. I think possibly he feels he's paid his dues where Ricky hasn't?.......just a thought.

Its obvious Ricky HATES hecklers. I went to see him live years ago and the show was pretty much ruined by a drunk screaming random crap and some stuck up student at the front was trying to stop the show to give his opinion on Ricky's sitcom. Ricky looked furious.
I got to see one of his live small theatre shows where he tests new material recently very lucky was amazing

@@ikedewinter1213 He was always a sell out, he just hadn't cashed in yet. Bill jumped on the red pill and anti sjw pundit bandwagon and rode it for all it was worth. He was never an artist, comedy was a trade to him, he had been doing it for 20 years before he "made it". Partly why is is so bitter towards Ricky. Bill was never as funny and insightful in his philosophies as Patrice o'neal (who most of his comedy is influenced by) and you can see that he is now creatively spent.
