I saw them do this exact setup live in Amsterdam in front of 17000 Nightwish fans. The whole building was lit up with lights from peoples phones and I cried my heart out. It doesn’t get much more beautiful than that.
@@JoJoLewis I really hope that you get to see them live. They will hit Australia during their next tour for sure since it didn’t work out for them during the Human Nature world tour.
Happy New Year !!! The second verse Tuomas wrote for Floor, her husband Hannes van Dahl and their daughter Freja. This is Tuomas way to say: Thank you Floor for saving the band back in 2012 and make us great again. he wrote the part "We met where the cliff greets the sea" about her relationship with Hannes van Dahl (although is also a clear reference to Élan), and "Now there’s one who came from me / A child of light, another tale", which is about her giving birth to their daughter Freja. How cool is that? I mean, he really did what the song is about: human empathy. And what a better way to show it by dedicating a little part of the song for his friend and band mate? She said she went to tears when he mentioned it to her. And I can see why, it is a beautiful song. Nightwish... Nuff Said!!! NWSU 🤘😎🤘.
Hey JoJo. So good to see you again! Welcome back. I totally love this song about human empathy and I thought it would be a fitting song for your return to YT and Nightwish. To see them live is an absolute experience, you're right. I've seen them live 5 times last year and it was magical every single time. So don't hesitate if you get the opportunity to catch a live show. If you want to see some of their more recent performances, you could check out their shows at Hellfest 2022 or Deichbrand 2022. They play the full band version of 'How's The Heart' in both shows.
Floorgasms galore and yes, the acoustic guitar resonates perfectly. Troy does a great job here. Floors voice is a thing of beauty as is the song. Thank you Sir. Paul 🙏👍😊♥️
It's from the latest album Human and Nature. The absolute Masterpiece of Nightwish, the mastermind Tuomas Holopain. I would recommend the whole dubble album. The evolution, evolving of a great band already for me🎶🤘🏻 Greetings from the Netherlands, Geert
I think its time for Devil and the deep dark ocean next! Live in Buenos Aires. The vocal acrobatics Floor pulls is next level on that one. My absoluut favorite!
May I suggest "Sleeping Sun" to add to your list if you want to get emotional from Floor's singing again. Bonus points for the Antwerp, November 2022 version in which she breaks down at the end, the emotion of what she had been through with her health in recent months and being back on tour getting to her. If you can get through that one without tears, you deserve a medal! 😆
@@JoJoLewis Floor will be releasing her solo album in March this year. I'm seeing her live (solo tour) in May and will say hi for you ;-) Check out her solo stuff, i.e. "Storm"!
@@JoJoLewis Not as glad as we are to see you back, of that you can be sure. You're a light of hope and optimism the world desperately needs these days. 😊
Do good they started doing an acoustic in the shows though before that it was the full version. Our Decades on the Sun acoustic, which replaced it in the tourcsetlis recently, is also worth listening to. Don't forget Troy's mastery of acoustic guitar and his backing vocals. Just a couple of the dozen or more strings to his bow
This has only been performed on the most recent tour as it comes from the latest album Human II Nature where it is a complete band performance. Both versions have been played at different concerts. Troy was playing his 25 year old Fylde Guitar from England. I believe they also made his bouzouki.
Welcome back, JoJo. As Timo mentioned, the 2nd verse was written for Floor, Hannes, and Freja. Floor's eyes did not stay dry when Tuomas told her about it. You don't have to imagine this song with full band in concert. They performed it at Deichbrand and Hellfest festivals 2022, as well as Noise, Shoemaker, and Tribal from the Human:ll:Nature album. You will also see new bassist, Jukka Koskinen. He came from Wintersun, same as Kai, and was made permanent in August.
I really like your reactions to Nightwish! As a Nightwish fan, I'm happy about all reactions to this special band, no matter which song. Maybe Shoemaker live at hellfest 2022 that's a little different 😉
Glad to see you back at it!! Also, there’s no video, but if you look up Floor’s performance of “Zu Schnell Vorbei” from Sing Meine Song last year, you’ll get a bit of her rapping(or at least, very rhythmic singing!).
@@JoJoLewis I mean.. yes? At least, very rhythmic FAST singing in German! But it’s very good! All of her performances were on that show. @JoJo Lewis: Happy New Year! How's the heart this day, my friend? A couple of things. First, you should hear the "Human" side of Human :||: Nature. You were talking about cadence? There are some cadences on that album that are originally from classical music, which is where rap and hip hop actually took them from. Shoemaker is a good example. As for How's the Heart?... This song gets me every single time. Why? Because I'm a chronic depressive that has "fought my many demons," as Avenged Sevenfold would say. Yet, those internal battles, that internal mental warfare is _exhausting._ Many times, all I want is for someone to empathize with me, and to understand my pain. It is why I go out of my way to try and empathize with others who are hurting, to ask them "How's the heart?"; to tell them, "It's okay. You're not alone. I fight the same kinds of battles in depression that you do. You're not alone." Because at the end of the day, we are all human, every one of us. We have a tremendous capacity for empathy, sympathy, and compassion. We haven't yet learned, as a species, where the lines for those things begin or end. However, I believe we are under a moral imperative as people to learn those lines, because even with something as altruistic as empathy or compassion, there can be too much of a good thing, and it can lead to bad consequences. Yet for those in the world like me, who want to simply be understood, especially being a man, it is as if we are told socially that what we deal with isn't worth understanding, that if we even communicate it, even coldly, somehow makes us weaker or less than as humans and as people. So when I hear Floor sing this, I imagine some kind woman, back in the old days, who had a roaring fire going, and when the listener finds her answering her door, he is able to, at least for that night, sleep peacefully, his cares of the world shed for at least one night. And Floor's voice is an auditory paintbrush that paints such pictures in the mind so beautiful. I hope, like many others, that you have a happy new year, JoJo, and that 2023 is a better year yet for you. Here's to all of us entering a new year, in the hope something changes in us and for us to make us better people, my friend! Cheers from America! 🍻
