I found this 1960s Mid-Century Modern Credenza on Facebook Marketplace several years ago and have been using it in my home since; however, it shows obvious signs of normal wear and tear, requiring satisfying paint removal, intricate veneer repairs, and a bold new finish. Join me as I turn this restoration project into a one-of-a-kind vintage piece to be cherished for many years. Thank you for joining me. Barry

Twenty hours of work + untold hours videoing and editing the content for this project. What a gorgeous result for both! Thanks for sharing your craftsmanship. What a great piece for your home.

Another absolutely fantastic restoration, Barry! The wood grain on this piece is beautiful. When it cones to screw holes being stripped out, I use wood match sticks and wood glue in them, and put the screws in before the glue dries. It creates a really strong hold, and, since wood glue won't adhere to metal, the screws can be removed without issue. This one truly came out beautifully! The quality of the piece, along with the remarkable quality of your restoration prowess make a great combination, and the result speaks for itself.

That turned out absolutely gorgeous, Barry.
I've never seen a buffet quite like that one.
How nice that all the original hardware was still attached. 💓

AMEN! to your "natural beauty" comment!!! I do see the occasional need for paint, but you can still add new veneers to pieces that have a finish that is just too far gone and dignify and accentuate the original design. I learn quite a bit from your videos, so THANK YOU!

This made my day. This is how pieces like that should be restored. I’ve seen so many people redoing pieces like or similar to that and I cringe at how they sand and scrape those pieces. You can tell it’s about profit and not about love. Another great job.

This piece looks absolutely amazing. Great job Barry. I admit I prefer the wood itself to shine through with a light stain and painted wood makes me cringe and ask questions like why. I love the older pieces and their beauty and craftsmanship to create them. Thank you for sharing how to restore a credenza instead of throwing it away and buying something cheap that won't last nearly as long as this piece has. Have a wonderful day

The iron trick is amazing for raising wood grains. Wow! You would have loved my dad's house. He had all solid teak, midcentury modern furniture that he bought in the 1960's. It was quality stuff. I still wish I could have kept a lot of his pieces. As usual, your results are stunning. I found you on Facebook and submitted a requet for your friendship. I don't know if you're still receiving requests. If not, I understand. I still get to follow you here.

A very gorgeous end result and a sympathetic restoration. Great work as always Barry. I like to see the grain and the varying hues of the woods used in a piece. What's the point of wood if you're just going to cover it up hey? As always, thanks for the time you spend bringing us this content

People who leave negative comments deserve to be ignored! If you can't find something nice to say - don't say anything at all! Your work is always a labor of love and your skills have really grown! The fact that you've worked on this same design multiple times is intriguing - the model was popular at some time - and now you are giving then a new lease on life!

So sad loss of furniture manufacturing in the US with real wood, and thick wood veneer.
Mass produced foreign furniture is lacking in quality and design, definitely not heirlooms
