- This rare "Behind the Scenes" look at "The Magic School Bus" TV series originally aired on PBS as part of the "Family Holiday Special" in 1996. It was removed from future re-runs of the episode.
Thankfully Dolly Parton (voice of Murph in the Holiday Special)'s Vimeo page has the original 1-hour special with the BTS segment intact.

It's kind of crazy how the actors playing the kids kind of all look like their characters.
i always had a crush on Daniel DeSanto
@@luckyplayz4171me too 😂
How can you tell?
Actually yeah. Well, I say Danny(Arnold), Andre(Tim), Lisa(Wanda), Erica(Keesha) & Daniel(Carlos) DEFINITELY Look just like their characters! I mean, Danny clearly has Arnold’s Hair, only no glasses😂! Maia(Phoebe) Tara(Dorothy Ann) & Stuart(Ralphie), not really. But all the actors precisely have their characters personalities!!
Malcolm definitely resembles the Producer
Fun fact: Lily Tomlin also appeared on Sesame Street before Magic School Bus because they both air on PBS.
I totally loved the magic school bus series and I never missed a single episode and I have read all of the magic school bus books. I really loved miss frizzle a lot because she's my favorite character and a fun loving, caring, friendly and cool science teacher ever. I wished that all teachers in special education were more like miss frizzle.
I loved watching The Magic School Bus when I was a kid. Thanks for a great video!
@@beachwaves4682 How old are you?
Erica Luttrell was on a ROLL in the 90's as a Child Actor and Voice Actor.
By the time she was doing The Magic School Bus, she had already been in
another HUGE kids show for two seasons; and that was her role as Kara Cupper on
"Shining Time Station."
Erica was in Two of the BIGGEST and Most Popular Children's TV shows Ever created.
The numbers and ratings on that side of it plus the MASS positive popularity of these shows speaks for itself.
It's almost Indescribable to somebody who wasn't around to experience PBS in those days.
Being Raised on Shining Time Station and The Magic School Bus was amazing in the 90's.
Props and Respect to Erica Luttrell .
If You are out there, Erica,
As a Fan from Atlantic Maritime Canada, just know You are a Forever Legend among us early 90's kids who were raised on PBS.
She’s also the voice of Simone from Nickelodeon’s As Told By Ginger
The Magic School Bus was one of my favorite shows back then, still is, and even now at age 26 I still watch it. Good times🥺 thank you so much for uploading this, I enjoyed every minute🫶🏽
Okay if they did a live action Magic School Bus special back then, they could have easily used the voice cast from the show. I can totally see them being the live action counterparts of their characters.
Its amazing how many talented people came form this show
9:21 Danny AKA Arnold: I knew i should've stayed home today!
Seeing Danny Tamberelli as Arnold brought back nostalgic memories
I totally love miss fizzle from the magic school bus because she has a fun loving, caring, friendly and magical personality. I wish that all teachers were more like her because i don't have any friendly types where I'm from just mean, unfriendly and rude ones.
The 90s was a good decade to be a kid
I finally found this behind the scenes segment! I love The Magic School Bus❤❤❤. My favorite episodes are the ones about chemistry (baking), sounds(the haunted house), reptiles, the arctic (heat), construction, bees, colors and light (rainbow), recycling, eggs and chickens, molecules, cells (Arnold is orange), mussel beach, gravity, electricity (Valentine episode), and the smell molecules episode.
8:53 voice acting is amazing.
Let's enjoy this upload while it lasts. Before YT takes it down.

OMG,I Didn't Know Dolly Parton Was In The Show
She was a guest star in the holiday episode
As the voice of Murph from Scholastic’s The Magic School Bus. And also she played as aunt dolly from Disney’s Hannah Montana & Hannah Montana: The Movie from Walt Disney Pictures
11:21 That’s because the voices of the kids were born in Canada, and they participated in a few other shows Nelvana produced, though Erica would do voice recording in the United States when she was on Steven Universe.
Like Cree did.
Also, Danny Tamberelli was a cast member of Nickelodeon’s _All That_ and _Pete & Pete_
Oh man my childhood! I never knew the kids and adults record in different studios. But overall it's great seeing the behind the scenes on how the show was made.
Extremely talented kid actors. Especially compared to the generic voiced, reading straight off the page of the reboot.

I like how it has Dolly Parton in it.
She played as aunt dolly from Disney’s Hannah Montana
9:58 Crazy how Daniel and Stuart are both really good at roasting
I agree, they should be a comedy duo like Laurel and Hardy.😂
Nothing will ever compare to this show. This kids show was educational and entertaining at the same time. I learned a lot from the show than in my actual school 😅 this show shaped my youth and my brain. to that i'm thankful

i agree with them too

Memories
Wow they are voice actors and I wanna be a voice over
Those born in the 90s enjoying TMSB in the early 2000s on PBS Kids.
Also the amount of work it takes for any cartoon is amazing.
Actually MSB already left PBS toward the early 2000s, it then aired on Fox Kids during that time, afterwards it then aired on Discovery Kids & TLC throughout the remainder of the 2000s.

@@santiagohunson6173 Yep. In addition to that, this is another show made by Scholastic Productions that I fondly remember, in addition to the wonderfully animated Clifford the Big Red Dog TV series with the late great John Ritter playing the main character. So much so, I even imagined a fanmade Clifford episode from season 3 where The Magic School Bus characters stop by at Birdwell Island for a lunch break, with the girls and Ms. Frizzle being voiced by the exact same actresses, and the boys being voiced by different actors such as Alex Hood, Aida Ortega, Mark Rendall, and Ogie Banks III.
