wondered how to make a main menu in roblox studio? or how to create a shop which has working GUI? ive made lots of 2024 roblox scripting tutorials about all the different bits of roblox to give you some up-to-date information about all of its properties and events.
my goal is to simply give some insight on how to use the various features and instances roblox studio, and show you some fun stuff you can do with them. thanks for checking out this roblox scripting tutorial :)

Lmao instead of spending 300 dollars on VIRTUAL headphones you could have gotten some really nice REAL LIFE headphones like why???? Plus the virtual headphones are basically just some yellow colored pixels and its just a model with the metal texture.. literally no effort i dont get why people would rather use virtual cosmetics that dont affect gameplay AT ALL rather than using that money on actual real life headphones THAT ACTUALLY ARE USEFUL AND ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING

Instead of doing

You can instead use the table.find() function with the parameters as the table you want to go through and then what you want to find. It returns the index so you could make it a variable then use table.remove(plrTable, i) like so:

local clientIndex = table.find(plrTable, game.Players.LocalPlayer)
table.remove(plrTable, clientIndex)
-- Rest of the code for the loop.

I'm pretty sure the table.find function just does the same thing. even if it doesn't, this is probably just a micro optimization. I believe you can see how the functions work somewhere I might check in a bit. It's still cleaner though!
anyway, a cleaner method is a dictionary imo. this is just personal preference I'd imagine. I dont think it provides any performance increases that's noticeable
you could access the player by simply just doing table[plr.Name].
I don't think roblox provides anything other than an array but it isn't hard to manage the dictionary.
Example on managing it here. Pseudo code:
local player Table = {}
On player added
playerTable[plr.Name] = plr
On player removing
playerTable[plr.Name] = nil

One thing i discovered in Roblox Studio is that locally you can delete everything from game.Players
it will still show the Players in the roblox menu, but it wont in the leaderboard.

@@JaiDoesVideos because the two systems are entirely different. The list in the Roblox menu is controlled by the server, but the list in the game is controlled by the client.

Finally, a game for the larger Roblox community.
At 12:46 you make the minimum number 1, but table indexes start at 0, that's why in the demonstration only the second player blinked. Not because of the table not updating because you create the table before choosing the random player so it does update.
i know you probably won't see this but any idea made is a great idea only because it took time to think of and thats what makes any idea good so your ideas are always good no matter what because it took time and effort but we cant forget that it was also because an amazing person that many people love and respect made the idea so just know ur ideas a great because ur amazing

i feel like this concept could be more true if it would be cross server and the servers are all 1 player, the text bubbles still show either above their heads or in the chat while the player list is no one but you, this could be used for problem solving and team work type games

in my opinion, not making the face disappear gives everything away. since you're always able the see the player at that point. also them appearing for a split second should be a little less if we're going for this kind of motive.

You should make this a game, but where every now and then 2 players are chosen to be visible to only each other, so they can see each other for like 2 seconds and just stare at them.

instead of changing transparency just move the character model by setting it's parent to the owner's player instance by the server on join. Then you can move it out on the client side all you'd like :)
forgot to mention that moving it to the player instance will make it not only invisible, but the shadows will be invisible too and the model will be non-collidable.

the concept works well but i feel just having it be just a baseplate is what throws me (n a couple of my friends) off, for me i can say when i joined the game i thought i was in the wrong game to be honest, even if its a simple model or whatever having something there like a house or structure to explore in a dark and unsettling atmosphere would def help this game more with its schizo feel (imo)

For me personally visual hallucinations fade in and out of reality instead of just blipping into reality then blipping out. For auditory hallucinations it would be kinda cool if player chat messages were read out in text to speech randomly as that's how they are for me just instead of tts it's the voices of people I know like family or friends. I didn't code on roblox for a while and forgot if it's true, but if you move an object from workspace into replicated storage for example, in a local script, will that happen locally or on server?
