Why change normal whey of asking Ymmärrätkö to Ymmärsitsä ? Word not become chorter or easily to say. I understand then minä becomes mä or minulla on - mulla or olen - oon but that case is strange. Or I don't see a real reson?

There are some exceptions but those people are considered weird. Finnish speakers instinctively know the level of formality that is suitable in each situation. Do you understand = Ymmärrätkö SINÄ (emphasis on you) -> ymmärrsitsä = Ymmärsitkö sinä (just smashes the sinä to the end of the word)
