When I was 13 years old I got a brand new 1987 Honda 250X. Was my first 4 wheeler. When it was new it was pretty strong. It would lift the front end through 1st and 2nd. I ragged it out though and near the end it had no power anymore.
I remember the year the Banchee came out all the guys with their tricked out Hondas were getting smoked by stock bikes LOL. I loved the 80's , just hearing these bikes run brings back such good times. My bike was the 1985 350x Honda 3 wheeler at 12 years old . ...The compression to kick that beast was insane but I was able once I learned .
I have had both the Banshee and the Zilla and the banshee will hang until 4th gear then the big 500 always walks away. Banshee power is much trickier to drag race because of a narrow power band so rider skill has a big influence on it. The Zilla is like a tractor and pulls hard even if shifts aren’t perfect.

I love these videos, reliving my earlier years. Roll back to 1987ish. My cousins had Honda 250's so I wanted to get a quad. There was a Zuk dealer down the street from my job so I went at lunch one day. The sales guy wouldnt sell me a Zilla as "They were too fast". It was then I knew I had to have one. The next day I went to a dealer in a neighboring town and was able to buy one. At that same time my cousin sold his Honda and bought a Banshee. We spent all our time lining those two beasts up, sometimes I would get him, sometimes he would get me, the Zilla is a beast for sure but the lower CC Banshee isnt ajoke either. Now that I am older if an opportunity came to buy a nice stockish Zilla I May do it
I could ride around Glamis in 3rd gear all day with my 500. All the torque in the world to pull any hill or get yourself out of trouble. The perfect quad. Wheelies were kind of hard to hold though.
If the Quadzilla would have stayed n production like the Banshee for 20 years and had the aftermarket parts like the Banshee has had made for it over all the years i think the Zilla would be n a league of its on but it never happened so sad👍👍👍 but I would love to have either one lol
My dad to this day still says how much he misses his Fatusi (I think) built 250r's one was a quad and the other was a three wheeler , he had a banshee too and loved the hell out of it but he'd take his 250r on a tight track any day over the banshee.
@@100GTAGUY sounds about right the Honda was the slowest of the 2 stroke 250 quads but it outraced them all being lower and handling like a dream AND its light in the ass didnt make sense why honda stopped the 250r
Long live that 2 stroke power, nice race guys. Ol Chuck seems to win all the races don't he. Lol 😂. You do need to use that last gear though, banshee power comes on from 3rd-6th gear.
Bro, back in the late 80s I had a Banshee (89) my friend Chris Peck has a Lt500. I can tell you without a Question IN Stock form the Banshee is Quicker and Overall Faster then Lt500. We rode together for YEARS. FYI my friend Jim Davis has an 85 ATC 250r (3-wheeler) and that would hang with us All day The Banshee has a more usable powerband as well. Personally my favorite bike ever was our Yamaha 225dx. It was an 86 I still own it today. Always kept in the family in running shape.
Without question? Lol! Maybe between you and your buddy, but the rest of the world remembers it differently, including DirtWheels who did a very unbiased and controlled (same air pressure in tires, several runs with different riders on the same day, letting them cool down between races, etc) high speed drag race on asphalt between the Zilla, Banshee, Tecate 4, Quadracer 250, and 250R (and a Mojave just to throw in a 4 stroke.) That was in the late 80's. It pretty much disproved everything you stated, especially the usable powerband comment. The zilla has power down low all the way up through the high end. The Banshee has nothing down low until it gets to it's powerband (Aka, very un-usable.) Ride a zilla sometime and you'll understand. Get it rolling in about 3rd gear barely above idling and just roll on the throttle. It will get up and go almost immediately! On a Banshee, it would take 2nd-4th to do what the zilla will do in that single gear. In fact, a Banshee will fall on it's face just trying to let it idle in 3rd gear, and it would take an entire block to hit it's powerband if you didn't shift down or clutch it and rev and dump it. I've ridden a brand new Banshee with no mods, and that is exactly what happens. The guy who owned the Banshee had it out on it's maiden voyage at Little Sahara in OK, and let me ride it, and he swung a leg over my stock zilla and took it for a spin. When we got back, his exact words were, "Holy s#&%! This thing has power everywhere!" I told him his Banshee was nice, but I was far from impressed. I had to shift constantly up and down the dunes to keep the RPM's up, or it would fall on it's face.
Two of my favorite bikes ever in one vid. Love it ! Drop a couple teeth on the rear sprocket on the banshee and it would be even closer. Thanks guys it looks like a blast.
@@splashdog8704 I have mixed feelings on the Fourtrax. The motor was fantastic but the chassis lacked for a guy my height, No Honda's were ever comfortable to me.
If you're 6ft or over Suzuki or Yamaha had the better chassis. My Banshee was compact but had a big rider space, odd description unless you've ridden one. The Zilla is just...Big lol
Jason Kozlowski the 86 and 87 Tecate 3 wheelers are sick, but the T4’s are also super nice, but I think he will get a 85 or 86 250r 3 wheeler before a Tecate 🙃
Looks like so much fun!! I have ridden a lightly modded 2001 Banshee they are tooo much fun! The twin cylinder engine makes it sound like two separate motors its wild! Now I have my hands on a big bore 102cc CR85 custom build thats about as fast as a stock Banshee.
Great footage my two favorite bikes never actually owned a a zilla but that’s the bike that got me hooked when I was 9 years old pie face tone use to ride me around wheeling and and tilting on 2 wheels but bout time I reach a age when I could buy one it was all banshee from there 3 different ones. One was full blown 100 over got clocked over 100mph+ was really fast but the stock bikes where still more fun
The quadrzilla is the fastest production quad ever it doesn’t matter what top speed is it matters how fast it gets to top speed, I have a motor scooter that does 85mph and it’s slow as shit and you idiots in comments that don’t know the zilla is fastest production quad ever don’t know shit, if the zilla was tuned properly it would be beating that banshee bye 15 bikes there’s something wrong with his power valve and it’s got low compression because it shouldn’t kick that easy
One of the iconic 2 strokes. That thing is a legend, my dad used to have a 250r 3 wheeler bored 60 over and extended swingarm, he said it was the fastest machine he'd ever ridden
Awesome race that's the first time I have seen that on pavement there both quick 4 wheelers but I would guess that the banshee is a little more peppy but I never rode a quad zilla
Badass Skeptic let’s be real here, they both suck so the the actual results are unknown. Both quads are worse then they were stock and the riders are equally bad.
They're both amazing and powerful machines. I've always loved that man look the banshee gives off, and ever since I had an Lt250r I've always wanted it's big brother. The only downside is the size and weight so my goal is to buy a 500zilla motor and drop it into an Lt250r frame and make a hybrid because they're lighter and smaller. The engine fits, but you gotta rig it up and they're bad to the bone. I plan on buying a 250r of all the three models, TRX250, Tecate250, and another 1990 or 86 Lt250, then a Banshee, and a Lt500 quadzilla. The 1986 Lt250r has a lot of low end power, but the 1990 has 6 a speed gear box, and on mine that I use to drag it was so fast I couldn't even get it into 6th because there wasn't any stretches of land long enough to do it. Right now I have a Polaris Outlaw 525s and I've only ridden it in the snow in my neighborhood and I can't wait to get it out in the dirt and I'm the trails, then the Colorado dunes and drag it. From what I've seen and heard that Outlaw will beat everything except a built Banshee or built zilla. Is it true? Idk. I've seen videos of it being true, but I myself in person have never witnessed it.
@@rapscallion3421 ya they're beastly. Unfortunately I had to sell mine because I've had it for 2.5 years and never got the Chace to ride it so I found her a good home and she's being put to use. I'll be buying another tho once I'm done launching my company and our ITC ( Initial Token Crowdfunding ) project.
The guy on the video before the race says he thinks Banshee will win on the 1/4 mile track. Then the Quadzilla wins and he says, “pretty much exactly like I thought it was going to go.” SMH!!!!
I love all quads got a 250r and 450r my self owned tons of others and and die hard Honda fan but there really is nothing that compares to a banshee once it comes on the pipes the sound the feel is definitely iconic
Those high comp single 500 cylinders can be a bitch to turn over. Best to slowly use the kicker to find top dead center and then give it a good kick. On a side note: anyone remember the weird sideways kickstart on the Suziki Quadsport?

Jason Kozlowski the 86 and 87 Tecate 3 wheelers are sick, but the T4’s are also super nice, but I think he will get a 85 or 86 250r 3 wheeler before a Tecate 🙃
That’s a hard bike to find
Eric Holland what is....
Ethan K tecate 3 or 4
Eric Holland The 2nd gen Tecate 3 wheeler is pretty rare, but is more obtainable than a Tecate 4
Does the quadzilla have a key/ignition like the banhsee
Amazing machines! Love em
13 min. I'll never get back , thanks
I think your aftermarket front shocks lowered the banshee a little. Super clean bikes though
He needs to throw the 40.00 e-gay shocks in the trash and get some good onee..
Both really nice looking old quads! Ignore the people on here running their mouths. Keep having fun, and enjoying those old toys. Stay safe!!
When are you going to get and do a video on the honda atc 250R????
What size jets are in the carburetors on the banshee?
Great footage my two favorite bikes never actually owned a a zilla but that’s the bike that got me hooked when I was 9 years old pie face tone use to ride me around wheeling and and tilting on 2 wheels but bout time I reach a age when I could buy one it was all banshee from there 3 different ones. One was full blown 100 over got clocked over 100mph+ was really fast but the stock bikes where still more fun
#quadzilla fastest production four wheeler ever built
arborcidal maniac no there’s not dumbass look it up get off your daddy’s computer kid
My 450r touches the same speeds
@arborcidal maniac how about that new Polaris 1000 that sucker is cool not sure how it performs but i bet its super powerful
I smell a troll
Please do a race with the cr250r
You need to put the Honda 250R in that mix all 3 are amazing quads
One of the iconic 2 strokes. That thing is a legend, my dad used to have a 250r 3 wheeler bored 60 over and extended swingarm, he said it was the fastest machine he'd ever ridden
@@isaiahminton2766 they were pretty quick but these quads in the video would run away from the modded 250r , not by a whole lot but definitely take it
I hope Yamaha brings the Banshee back. That 350 2 stroke was legendary status.
Honestly I want every brand to bring back their 2 strokes
@@thedevilr4420 totally agree
Man why don't they make quads like these 2 anymore 2 legends
I’m getting my first quadzilla in 2022 500 lt bored out 40 over can’t wait till it’s here in the shop now
Ha! You had to start the 500 for him. I usually let people I don't like try to start mine.... 😂😂🤣🤣😂
If they can’t start them they shouldn’t get to drive them
Only here for Chuck’s hair. Like a young Donald Trump....
Husky 701
It's yuuuuge!
Vote chucks hair 2020
#keepchuckshairgreat
Correct, I do need to see this race
Where and how do you get all these bikes..?
Awesome race that's the first time I have seen that on pavement there both quick 4 wheelers but I would guess that the banshee is a little more peppy but I never rode a quad zilla
Sick video bro
Whoever talks down on these guys are big bots these guys have great vids and great quads keep up the good work🤩
Zachary Thomas right💯💯🤷🏽♂️
Stock sprockets ?
Anything beside the exhaust system done
What's your location
Every comment section I read on these vids people just clown this dude for shifting lol
Fantastic quads fellas
This is interesting I think the banshee would win
keep up the goodwork
Badass Skeptic also 2 cylinders over 1 bud lol
Badass Skeptic let’s be real here, they both suck so the the actual results are unknown. Both quads are worse then they were stock and the riders are equally bad.
SplashDog stupid fuck
Anybody know the year on that quad zilla? Thsnks🤙🏼🔥🔥🔥
It will beat any 450 in a straight line, throw in some bumps and corners and the 525 becomes that fat GF you can't get rid of.
@@rapscallion3421 ya they're beastly. Unfortunately I had to sell mine because I've had it for 2.5 years and never got the Chace to ride it so I found her a good home and she's being put to use.
I'll be buying another tho once I'm done launching my company and our ITC ( Initial Token Crowdfunding ) project.
is the banshee a twist throttle or thumb throttle?
The guy on the video before the race says he thinks Banshee will win on the 1/4 mile track. Then the Quadzilla wins and he says, “pretty much exactly like I thought it was going to go.” SMH!!!!
I haven't watched the vid yet, but that Banshee is a monster. My buddy had one and yes I took it for a ride. I was quite impressed. Loved it!
I have an 08 honda rancher. What year are these.......
Man yall must have the coolest parents. Mine are the same way.
I love all quads got a 250r and 450r my self owned tons of others and and die hard Honda fan but there really is nothing that compares to a banshee once it comes on the pipes the sound the feel is definitely iconic
Is the 500 a 5 speed. They werent till last few years
Go down two teeth in the rear or up one on front sprocket of the banshee
Verry good video ! Never thought the banshee would keep up to that yellow beast 🤞
Love it no replacement for displacement
Damn both are awesome quads
If he cant even kick start the quad why was he even on it thats rule number one
Kyle Hillock rule number 2: who gives a shit was KyleHillock says
Those high comp single 500 cylinders can be a bitch to turn over. Best to slowly use the kicker to find top dead center and then give it a good kick.
On a side note: anyone remember the weird sideways kickstart on the Suziki Quadsport?
Banshee kickstart rattle drives me nuts! Two healthy machines tho always a good time runnin a 2 stroke
Where can I buy 250 quad racer parts new??? Please help!! Lol
My 85 atc 250r three wheeler use to beat my buddy banshee. And i had couple banshee later on and loved them. There all fun
Nice race
