So far, every time Mexico hosted the pageant, a different region of the world wins. So far, not Africa, so maybe it’s time for Africa this year. And if patterns persist, another Southern African country will take the crown, which is Zimbabwe.
Yes, I was about to write that. Mpule was the first delegate from Botswana and she won the MU 1999 title. Mpule also participated in Miss World 1997 where she was unplaced.

Being from Asia, I think we should support all the Asian candidates. We know America is so strong this year, but if either of Phillipines, India, Thailand makes it to the top 5 it would be difficult for them to win. Even Cambodia is a strong candidate. If latinas could get 4 out of top 5 placement then we can too. So we should learn from them n support every candidate like Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan etc. please go n follow every Asian delegates n like their posts😊❤.

Perfectly unbiased and factual podcast by Dani (even though she is traveling). Amazing delegates from across the world this year and I am rooting for India 🇮🇳 . We need a winning role model to inspire our youth (world's single largest demographic segment) and to reaffirm a belief in them that an Indian can also win on a global stage. This has a potential to bring about a sea change in India's and therefore the world's progress.

I really think it's time for Thailand to claim their victory! Miss Thailand Opal Suchata has done an impeccable job so far, and she's perfection for the title. Plus, this is a country that has taken pageantry to a whole new level, I'd really love to see Thailand's hard works finally pay off!!!
Powerhouse countries are powerhouse for a reason. Those countries put time, effort, training and money into their representatives. Pageants are also usually popular in those countries do they attract quality girls. I LOVE it when a non powerhouse country wins but credit must go where credit is due. If non powerhouse countries want to win, they need quality entrants.❤
Very educational. I may have known these facts before but have already forgotten most (lol), so this is very helpful. ❤ Thanks, Dani. Good luck to the ladies competing this year ❤🎉
Mia Le Roux 🇿🇦 has the best advocacy and the MUO should take the opportunity at solidifying their stance on inclusivity by crowing her👑 I'm also rooting for Miss Egypt 🇪🇬
Botswana 1999 was their very first delegate sent to MU and eventually won.. Also, you forgot to mention Oceania actually has 3 Miss Universe winners. Lorraine Downes of New Zealand won in 1983..
I wish you had a mini section discussing African Miss Universe wins. For instance, Mapule won for Botswana in her debut year! After she went and placed high in Miss World the year prior. Then theres the powerhouse of Africa, South Africa with the most titles on the continent with 3 wins overall in the last decade and do many placements throughout the decades.
It's always so hard to predict these things. First and foremost because finding interview and Q&A footage of 129 contestants can be a huge task AND we never know what they are actually going to bring come prelims and finals. BUT Opal has been a strong favorite of mine since she won. If someone made me pick ONE out of 129 right now, she would be it.

The 130 countries competing this year for the crown it is difficult to choose between a power house country or a country without a power house ,Anyways May The Best Deserving Country's Contestant Win the Coveted title of Miss Universe 2024.
Dear Ms. Walker, the records show that the first queen to be crowned in her home state was Miss Universe 2001 Denise Quiñones, who represented Puerto Rico and was crowned in Puerto Rico. So, we have the facts straight. Keep up the good work. ❤️
Hi Dani. I loved this video. It was so interesting. I recall a piece of trivia from Japans win in 2007. I remember how very distinctly different and beautiful her gown was. In fact it’s one of my most favourite in my top three gowns of miss universe winners. Later that year Oprah wore the exact same gown to an event of some sort. I was pleasantly surprised to see the gown a second time. And I often wondered if Oprah saw the gown on miss Japan and decided she needed the gown too. I will always pounder how Oprah ended up in the same gown. And I’m sure I will never know. But such a beautiful gown. Happy Miss Universe Week One. Raylene.
I don't like to correct people, but at 3:23, there’s a small mistake. Brazil doesn’t have 40 placements-they have 39, which actually ties them with Colombia, also at 39. So, third place is a tie.
I love these statistics videos 🤓 I believe USA and Puerto Rico are the only countries to win on their home turf 🇺🇸🇵🇷 and speaking of Puerto Rico I wouldn’t be surprised if they have their third consecutive top 5 placement because Jennifer has been on fire lately 🔥 I wonder what country has the most consecutive top 5 placements 😂🧐
