    The Mobius strip or Mobius band is a surface with only one side and only one edge. It can be made using a strip of paper by gluing the two ends together with a half-twist.
    It is an interlocked Mobius band made in Solidworks. Typically, these types of geometries are very difficult to achieve in Solidworks but they can be made easily just by properly using some simple commands. So, watch this video to know the whole process.
    Important Commands Used:
    -Swept surface (with some twist value)
    -Offset Surface (at 0.00mm)
    -Face Curves
    -Thicken (both sides 3mm)
    -Extrude Cut
    -Curve Driven Pattern
    -Fillet
    -Move/ Copy Bodies
    -Combine

    After a couple of hours i was able to create this in fusion 360, the process was almost completely different because most of the things that you used are not there but i figured it out after a while, thanks for the video!

    At the end. You move copy the part, rotate 360/14 (which is 14 holes ) It became 25.71428571 the divide by 2 =12.85714286 (this rotate it lock into the center from hole to hole. Then you take 180-12.857=167.1485. Which is rotate upside down. Does it correct?
    I did some experiment: rotate and copy step by step change color to see how it rotate. So the first rotate doesn't affect much. But the second rotate 25.71428571 the divide by 2 is lock into from center to center of hole. Then the last rotate is upside down. Did I explain it right? Please let me know.

    I can not do the step delete face due to geometry condition sir. Pls explain to me

    Why did you do the offset surface 00mm?

    • @EasyCADSolutions
      @EasyCADSolutions  4 года назад +1

      To create a Face Curve on it which will use to create curve driven pattern, Because Curve driven pattern requires a driven cuve and a tangent driven face. To make flowing patterns.
      Hope you you will understood😁

      @@EasyCADSolutions and why couldn't you do that on the first surface?

    • @EasyCADSolutions
      @EasyCADSolutions  4 года назад +1

      Because First Surface is utilised in thicknen operation and the offset one is used to generate curve driven pattern so total no. Of faces are 2

      @@EasyCADSolutions so once the surface is thickened, the original surface no longer exists? Unlike an extruded sketch?

    • @EasyCADSolutions
      @EasyCADSolutions  4 года назад +1

      Yes, Exactly
      It get's utilized completely
      That's why i offset the same surface at 0.00mm

  • @peggyisme

    Is thickness part of an add on? I am not finding it

      Thicken command can be located in the surface tab

    • @pinakpaliwal9735
      @pinakpaliwal9735 4 года назад

      You have to go to the solidworks add-in tab and you will find surfaces from there. Click on it and you will be able to follow the rest of the instructions.

    So when you copy and then combine how do you correct the face angle offset between the original and copied whole?

    • @EasyCADSolutions
      @EasyCADSolutions  6 лет назад

      I used delete face command with delete and patch option in order to make a complete cylindrical face, Because delete and patch option delete the selected face and then patch it according to their surrounding surfaces

    • @peggyisme
      @peggyisme 6 лет назад

      hmm tried that, it did not quite work.
      I will try again as I am stuck at that spot

      You can also use edge fillets rather than face fillet and it works fine i think so

  • @vivek7154
    @vivek7154 5 лет назад

    I cannot combine the fillet1 and copied body. The error says there's no body remaining

    • @EasyCADSolutions
      @EasyCADSolutions  5 лет назад

      Then Apply fillets after combine
      It will definitely works

      Had the same problem. Solution is delete four faces(get a surface) move/copy new surface, knit and create solid body.
