Ok, I'm just putting this out there, but that first tank isn't right for Turtles. Turtles need land.
There’s a basking spot on the top of the tank, called an out of the tank basking spot. Some people use that to have more water in the tank.
It needs to not have so many goldfish in it too
Well technically musk turtles don’t NEED a basking platform, they still need uvb and everything, but they as well as I believe snapping turtles, alligator snapping turtles, and mata matas are like that
It did have a basking platform on the top of the tank, it was that plastic thingy with a light on top. A little ramp goes into the water for the turtle to climb up
@@paigecoleman1628 while I couldn’t find much talking about if mata matas needed basking areas, every single one of these species mentioned that they should have shallow enough water that if they stood on their hind legs they could poke their nose out of the water while still touching the bottom. As far as I can tell, that is the equivalent to the basking spot for these species? Every species other than the mata mata also recommended providing a true basking spot anyway in case they wanted to use it. At least as far as my very quick research goes, lol! It was interesting to find out that these guys don’t get out of the water much and don’t encounter health issues from it. Very strange in comparison to the aquatic turtles whose care I’m a little more familiar with. I’m so used to conversations about shell rot and basking

It's funny how amazing the enviorment was for the turtle with the basking spot and the optimal filtration and clear water and then the had to mess it up with a pleco and LOTS of goldfish,
The goldfish was the trigger for me
Just had one of the craziest experiences in my life lol. Went into Walmart to buy a micro terrarium bowl and some girl walked by and said “ hey don’t buy that for fish” and then walks out with a 5lb bag of barf gravel😆😂😂😂

Hey, if you are wondering, saltwater fish have diffrent osmoregulators within their bodies. They actually require true saltwater to live in as they are are able to filter water out of the salty water column they live in. Beyond that, certain saltwater fish have modified swim bladders that alow themselves to survive the various depths in the ocean. The last major thing is that the specify gravity would be off as the perameters are different in saltwater. Saltwater is typically warmer as you guess it, the salt in the ocean emits an electrical energy that causes the temperature to rise. It's one of the reasons animals like sharks and rays use electcal energy to search and find prey. It wouldn't be possible for themselves to live in an environment where the water temperatures were constantly fluctuating. Some species of shark will actually rest in places in the ocean where their is a constant flow of water due to themselves needing to have water constantly flowing over their gills while they rest. It interesting to note that sharks will also go into a paralyzed state when flipped over. It's called Tonic Immobility. It's how Orcas hunt sharks, they try and flip them over making the usually unsuspecting shark defenseless. Sorry for rambling on, I am going to school for Marine Zoology focusing my studies on warm water Coral Reefs. Seeing all these fully grown plecos remind me about a tank a teacher had when I was in elementary school. She had what I’m thinking now was a 10 gallon (when I was little it seemed giant) with nothing in it, no gravel or decor, and one fully grown pleco. I loved looking at that fish but now that I’m grown I could just imagine how uncomfortable that fish was. he was always, ALWAYS, behind the filter tube that went down into the tank only every so often would come to the front of the tank.

Also clownfish: gets put in vase 😥 (fish don't laugh Im just clowning around) seriously fish abuse should be illegal.
You get pre made saltwater, that's what I did for my 240. Parameters are always the same and its aged ready to go. It removes any possible mistakes by the keeper and shifts by city water.

That killifish tank has so much potential if the owner decided to remove the fish and add a bunch of plants. It also reminds me of the infamous My BFF commercials that aired back in 2010.
So that betta was not only in a bong, that bong had ICE IN IT. Really good for a tropical fish, I’m sure.
The fish in the pineapple tank are golden wonder killifish, there really cool they have two normal eyes and an eye at the top of there head that can sense changes of light so they can hide from out of water predators

You also have to appreciate how lazy the last owner is considering some of the lines are the tank are probably a byproduct of the water level slowly dropping as the water evaporates.
I have only seen one spongebob tank that was ok. It was a 120 and the guy had very artistically painted the backdrop of spongebobs house, had all the houses, correct size characters, and the roads and all. Even had some seaweed and a few saltwater fish. Stand and canopy looked like a TV. Haha only one so far that been acceptable.

Woah that Pearlweed carpet on your 60p ADA tank is doing great,Good job man,it takes patience to grow a carpet without co2,a patience I don't have.
My crested gecko will actually jump straight up when I am moving them (singular)to check weight or moving them around the tank when cleaning. That’s why I never hold them far off the ground they are crazy even more so after they escaped and dropped their tail.
Love the channel, I’ve learned so much about fish keeping because of you, not only that but I recently bought a crested gecko too!! I named it October, Toby for short. I’ll email a photo of him in his enclosure soon, It’s pretty young too.
Today I went to the pet store for some algae tablets and made the mistake of locking eyes with a betta.
Long story short, I have a new betta.
(Don't worry, I had a cycled tank for him ❤️)

The fish in the spongebob tank are aplocheilus lineatus which are killifish from India. The really like some floating plants and a lot more space.

Oof, long comment incoming.. I had a golden algae eater once. I was just starting out in the hobby, and I found some at petco-- just babies, i now know-- being held in a 10gal there. I asked if they got much bigger than the ones I saw, and the store person said "nah, theyre good for keeping your tank clean and theyre friendly, as far as I know." (No shade on them of course, i understand that not everybody a chain store hires will be totally knowledgeable about every species theyre working with.) I bought one and plopped it right into my 10gal with the 4 fancy guppies I already had in there. Big mistake. Long story short, within just a few weeks I'd done some research and ended up getting in touch with and passing off the algae eater to a local (non-chain) store. They were more than happy to take it in and put it in a nice understocked 55 gal with a small, better suited fish community and a lot of hiding places and plant growth. I hope that lil guy is still doing well today 😊

yep we have a painted turtle and a large pleco in a 55 gallon....needless to say the turtle wouldnt stop mounting our poor pleco so he was just recently moved to my tank to separate them, we knew the poor pleco was being mauled by being in there like that, a horny turtle is relentless...lol what i find funny is we actually have a female turtle in with him and he always went for the fish instead...lol
i got a new lizard yesterday so he was just watching me watch you look at fish.
My sis has a female betta in a one gallon tank no filter/heater and i have convinced her to upgrade and do a really awesome aquascape. sadly though, my parents wont let the tank be any bigger the 2.5 gallons, but its better than nothing!

those are golden wonder killifish they are amazing fish with a lot of personality but they get like 4 inches and they jump insanely high so you need a lid. they can also open their mouths very wide, and shouldn’t be kept with other males except in a larger tank. Those are all males in the picture. another cool thing is that they have a third “eye” on top of there head. it’s kind of like a light/motion sensor

Salt for aquarium or saltwater is fine if it doesn't have iodine and other chemicals. Because they already get iodine from the food

Scary thing about fish. Saltwater fish are indeed capable of switching to freshwater habitats. It is already happening with a handful of species. Next its the land.
