simonkane Thank you for commenting! And for writing it! It's brilliant on so many levels, and since I have opportunity to tell you (!), I appreciated so much that this gender-ambiguous prostitute character is strong and sly, when it's so easy to make misogynist and sex-work-negative jokes. This was one of the several M&W sketches I thought got it so fantastically right from a feminist perspective and of course without sacrificing the requisite naughtiness ;)
I... was going to make a comment here about how you probably shouldn't believe some random RUclips commenter's claim to have written something, but what do you know, it looks like it's probably true. Awesome!
Ha, sure, but the fact that you specifically asked for info on the identity of the writer made it seem far more likely to me that someone just happened to see that request and figured they'd pointlessly troll you. Also, for me personally 'comedy sketch writer' is just about the coolest and most admirable job a person can have... if I was going to impersonate someone, that might well be what I'd go for :P
There's no reason why they should be associated with anarcho-syndicalism at all: they are the symbols for several different religions/philosophies, (none of which I actually follow but I'm interested in them), the top one is a lotus for Buddhism, next is a unicursal hexagram for Thelema and then there's a triple moon for Wicca and inside that is a yin/yang symbol for Daoism.
It’s a joke about the fox hunting ban that came into effect in 2005 (two years before this was aired). It caused quite a big hoo-ha at the time because fox hunting was a favourite pastime of the countryside, especially amongst the “landed gentry” types. The ban had been blocked for a whole year by the House of Lords and eventually had to be passed using a special legislative measure to bypass the Lords. So the opportunity for satire was rife. They’re basically showing a group of fox hunters who have “gone underground” and hired a fox to let them “hunt” it, in the same fashion as if they were hiring a prostitute.
Hello. I wrote this. Thanks for putting it up

Buffoon1980 Comedy sketch writers aren't big targets for impersonators ;)

reminds me of Mongrels
austin fernando Your user pic, what is going on there? I know what the red and black is ✊ but I've never seen it associated with the other symbology.

austin fernando Gotcha! Thanks for indulging my curiosity.
no problem, I'm surprised no one's asked about them before. :-)
It's a shame they only did a couple of series, and yes, that fox reminded me of Mongrels, too.
I'm so confused at this one. What's the joke, that he's a fox called Grace... ?

The joke is that it's about fox hunting, which is illegal in Britain, but they're comparing it to prostitution.
Wow I never would have picked up on that. It just seemed so random. Thank you
