This is a game that your channel is MADE for. This game is so overlooked by the english speaking crowd, and it is lost on the rest of the world, so I am so grateful for you covering all of these.
played it and actually liked it, luckily there is an english fan tl. It's pretty impressive that there are multiple endings like after you find the map to the ultimate treasure you can choose to join the guy but all you will find is an empty chest there and starve to death. END.
yikes at that backstory, especially given everything going on with SAG-AFTRA (which I know is a US thing but definitely sounds like a lot of that would apply here as far as likeness rights) not a genre I'd seek out for famicom stuff but I appreciate the behind the scenes on it.
This game was apparently a best-seller in 1987 as far as Japanese adventure games go, so it gets a lot of love from the Japanese community... but it really was a 'you had to be there to get it' kind of game.
Happy new year 2024! Did you hear about the brand new game *Quiz⭐︎Seikai wa Ichinengo presents: Atsushi no Meitantei* released for the Nintendo Switch eShop during a New Year’s Eve quiz show on TBS, and making direct reference to this game?
@@RndStranger I recommend checking it out, as a good example of a fake (but faithful) Famicom game from Happymeal. It is published by Phoenixx, a relatively new company created by a former BanNam bigwig, which probably helped clearing things up with BNE before the release of the game. Not sure how well the local talent got paid this time…

I had not. Doesn't surprise me that it references the game, though, since it does seem to get a lot of love in Japan.
